Who Holds...

The umbrella, when it rains - Jared. Always. He’s taller, so it makes sense, but the main reason he always holds it is because Ana is easily distracted. She either walks too fast or too slow and her constant “wandering eyes” make it hard for her to keep the umbrella in one place. When she holds the umbrella, they both end up soaked, so Jared just saves them the trouble of trying. 

The popcorn at the cinema - Jared. Ana prefers to get thin mints. She’ll have a few handfuls of of the popcorn, but it isn’t her favorite. And its not for her, so why should she have to hold it? 

The baby, when it cries - At first, Ana leaves Jared to do it. Even though they completely discussed every aspect of having a child, Ana is still somewhat uncertain of her capabilities. During the first few nights at home she hovers over Jared’s shoulder shushing and cooing and finally Jared turns and plops the baby in her waiting arms. Ana is surprised and shocked and the mother instincts she worried she didn’t have kick into gear and she cuddles and rocks until the baby is quiet in her arms. After that its a struggle to get her to put the baby down. 

The ice cream cone, when they share - Ana takes this one. Jared can’t hold the cone for more than a minute without the thing dripping onto his hands and clothes and creating a sticky mess. Things get so bad when he’s got the cone that Ana is half convinced that someone cursed him in his childhood. 

The remote, when they sit down to watch a movie - Jared has an issue with racing to get the remote whenever he and Ana sit down to watch something. He assumes that it branches from his childhood and always arguing with his sister about who got the remote. Ana doesn’t really care, so she normally lets him have it. 

The basket, when they go shopping - They take turns normally. It really just depends on who grabs it first. 

The door, on dates - Jared does every time without fail. His father raised him to believe that no girl should ever have to open a door for herself. He gets the door on dates and every other time as well. That includes the car door. 

The other’s hand, most often - At first, Jared is always the one that grabs for Ana’s hand. Touchy feely cutsey relationships have never been her thing and so she doesn’t really think about it at first. Eventually, though, she gets used to the gesture and starts grabbing for Jared’s hand without even realizing it. 

The camera, when they take pictures together - Photography is Jared’s thing, so normally he holds the camera. Ana isn’t a big selfie person, so she hardly ever grabs Jared for a picture.

Who Holds...

The umbrella, when it rains - Blue always carries the umbrella. Fin is much too short to carry it for the both of them. Sometimes though, Blue will hoist Fin onto his back when it rains so she won't get her shoes wet. When he does this, Fin holds the umbrella. 

The popcorn at the cinema - Fin holds the popcorn through the previews and the beginning of the movie. However, within the first 45 minutes of the movie, she's handed Blue the popcorn. Fin likes to pull her legs up into the seat and she can't hold the popcorn very well when she does that. 

The baby, when it cries - They take turns. The two of them are absolutely amazing parents. When their first baby, Daniel, is born, they hardly ever put him down. When it's Blue's turn, he'll lay Daniel across his forearms and cradle his head in his hands. He talks really quite and bounces him. Fin will hold Daniel with one arm under his lags and the other on his back. She bounces him too, but she likes to sing when he's crying. 

The ice cream cone, when they share - Normally Finley. She's a little hog with it and tends to eat most of it when she carries the cone. If Blue actually wants some of the ice cream, he'll carry the cone. 

The remote, when they sit down to watch a movie - It depends on several factors like who sat down first, who put the movie in, where the remote was, etc. 

The basket, when they go shopping - Finley gets sort of overwhelmed when she pushes the buggy, especially is the store is crowded. She prefers to let Blue push, while she carries the list and puts the items in the basket. 

The door, on dates - Blue. Always. His father never did anything of the sort for his mother, and Blue is determined to be the opposite of his father in everything that he does. He is a perfect gentleman and always gets the doors. 

The other’s hand, most often - Finley grabs for Blue's hand a lot without really realizing it. It's just become a real reflex thing; especially if she's excited or nervous. 

The camera, when they take pictures together - Finley. Blue doesn't take many selfies. When he does, its normally because Fin has pulled him into one.
