missing her today

We made the decision to put Billy to sleep this morning. She passed peacefully and as well as could have been hoped under the circumstances.

This blog will be on temporary hiatus for the time being as I process and grieve. Thank you to everyone who sent well wishes our way, it was very much appreciated.

She is alive as of this morning and seems to be doing okay. She's eating and pooping so no stasis yet which is really encouraging! She was struggling with her cone so I'm sitting with her and giving her a break from it so she can chill and visit with Dutch.

This morning there was an accident and Billy was pretty badly injured. She is home now after a visit to the ER vet and seems somewhat stable, but she is going to need her hind leg amputated and right now I'm just focusing on getting her through the next few days until the surgery can be scheduled.

I will update when I know more. Hoping things will be okay.

we got weird rabbits!!! theyre solitary and they dont dig burrows!!! and they cannot hybridize with European rabbits at all because of their genetic differences!!!
