Certain people's reactions to The Secret of the Mimic just prove my point that part of the fandom just can't let go of William and Henry, so they expect everything to be directly tied to them.

So now that we have a game that not only mentions at least one of them at best but also centers around other characters entirely, people are losing their shit.

I do understand why people want to see more about Henry, though I also don't know why you were expecting anything from this game specifically.

People are jumping to the conclusion that this means that Edwin is the mastermind behind everything when this only really establishes how he is a major player in it all, whether he wanted to or not.

There are also a lot more insane conclusions people are coming to because of this as well, but I won't get into those.

William and Henry still built animatronics themselves. They just commissioned Edwin to do some work for them, which is a normal thing a lot of animatronic restaurants did. And when they didn't get what they presumably paid for, they sought it necessary to get what they felt entitled to while also stealing things because they're shady af.

But maybe I'm more accepting of this because I've already been entertaining the idea of FazEnt buying the rights to or outright stealing characters from other companies since that's just the kind of shit they'd do.

Fnaf sotm spoilers about Edwin and Henry, and why it doesn't ruin Henry's character

No, Henry isn't just some dude who stole Edwin's work; at most, Edwin made Foxy and Chica. Henry made Freddy and Bonnie, and probably redesgined Foxy and Chica into what we know today.

No, we are not making Edwin the true creator of fazbear's, we're just having him make a few things here and there. Henry still made massive things; this game doesn't downgrade his character

And (assuming they were made by Edwin), no, it doesn't really matter if Edwin originally made the springlock suits, cause the springlock suits from SOTM and fredbear's are vastly different beasts, with fredbear's being more delicate than SOTM's. What I'm trying to say is that it doesn't ruin the lore. Yes, it would be better if Henry made all of the animatroincs, but Henry still made a vast majority of them.

There is a Henry mention and he is named but im seeing a lot of Henry/william fans upset because in the game they commission Edwin to make the springlocks. Edwin makes the prototype, but the prototype is never finished and never gets to them so Henry just makes them himself. I think this is upsetting to a lot of Henry fans because they liked the idea of him being insane and creating the springlocks entirely himself (which he technically did) but. It’s also implied characters like chica and foxy were Edwin’s first, so people who like to headcanon Henry made the entire fazbear band ended up being wrong
