whats fascinating about infinity train fanfiction is that textually min-gi is an anxious prissy dork who starts compulsively bitching ryan out as a stress response in a "your chihuahua-esque grandmother having a melt because christmas dinner experienced a minor hiccup" sort of manner. and ryan is a guy who plays wonderwall at parties. Textually. and yet. And yet. people are not only intently set on making one of them The Cool Suave One, they somehow pick min-gi to be the cool suave one. like, ryan is not cool at all, but he is at least endearingly goofy and go-with-the-flow and capable of freeform socialization in a way that could make him someone you'd befriend at a party despite the wonderwall thing. he has a jacket that's sort of cool, he has nice boots. he's not cool in the intimidating sense, but he's a cool guy. min-gi dresses like a dad and probably does crosswords and i'm assuming gets really cranky if he's not in bed by 9. he has undiagnosed anxiety in the eighties. On my fucking life he is not suavely seducing ryan, he is a man who starts gagging loudly when he has to step into a motel shower. and that is what ryan fell in love with and you will Respect That.
