General Guidelines for Dilution
Dilution is very important for ALL essential oils!
Keep all essential oils out of reach of children and babies. Certain essential oils could be toxic if ingested. No essential oils should be given orally to children.

The following safety precautions are guidelines only. You should always consult with a medical doctor about essential oil usage and always inform your primary care physician as the oils may not be conducive with your prescribed therapy and medications.

Young Living ThievesÂŽ Essential Oil

What is Thieves Essential Oil? Thieves is well known to reduce stress, neutralize bacterial and viral pathogens, strengthen bones and reduce inflammation, as well as lowering fevers, and strengthening the respiratory system.* Thieves essential oil is also one of the oldest and most interesting oils, based on the unique history of how and why it was developed.Â
There are plenty of versions of the story but it all comes down to a group of thieves during the Bubonic Plague. They were robbing people who were either dying or dead to generate income. Authorities were puzzled as to how they were doing it because if anyone came in contact with someone with the Plague they surely would die as well. Well eventually the thieves were caught in the act! A judge offered leniency if they confessed how they were getting away with robbing and not becoming ill.Â
It is a blend of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary essential oils.
If you are looking for a rich and earthy, but spicy aroma, Thieves is for you.
Did you know diffusing Thieves Essential Oil May Support a Healthy Immune System and Energize Your Body?
Whether it is at home or the office, diffuse to promote wellness! Or if you are traveling, it is great to have handy to avoid germs.
You can even make your own home cleaning products from Thieves. If made into a spray, it is great at eliminating odors and making any room refreshing, especially in the bathroom!
How do I use it?
Topically - 20:80 dilution (One-part essential oil: four parts of carrier oil).
Always test on a small area of skin on underside of arm before applying to other parts of the body.
Apply 2-4 drops on feet, throat or chest
Diffuse - for 15 minutes every 3 to 4 hours (Note: Carrier oils do NOT go in a diffuser). Tip: Try adding Tangerine or Orange with Thieves!
May be directly inhaled.
When using Thieves with Babies & Children: Important facts:
Babies and Children should never ingest essential oils
ALWAYS dilute ANY essential oils being diffused or applying topically
With that being said, Thieves should be avoided topically by children 10 years old or younger. Thieves contains eucalyptus and rosemary essential oils, which are considered âHot Oilsâ and may cause a burning sensation. I use the Thieves House Cleaner regularly and that doesnât seem to bother my daughters (6 & 3mo) at all.
Recipes
Carpet Freshener
: Add 5 drops of Thieves to a cup baking soda, combine well and let set over night. Shake well, sprinkle over carpets and vacuum thoroughly.
Note:
I use an 8oz mason jar and add holes!
DIY dryer sheet: 4-6 drops of Thieves on a damp washcloth, toss in dryer with laundry, dry.
Toy Cleaning:Fill your sink with hot water. Add a splash of vinegar and one capful of Thieves Household Cleaner.
DIY toilet bombs:
1 Cup corn starch
1 cup baking soda
Water
Thieves Household Cleaner
1 cup citric acid
20-30 drops Thieves Essential Oil
32-ounce spray bottle
DIY Thieves Spray â For On-The-Go!

What are Essential Oils?

If you are anything like me, and human, I am sure you are a tad, if not fully skeptical about the use of essential oils. So what are these âmagic in a bottleâ oils that people are talking about?
Essential oils are the natural byproduct of plant metabolism. They are tiny molecules that are easily absorbed into the skin and know just what to do once they get thereâdeliver oxygen and nutrients and remove toxins without the harmful side effects of so many medications.
Essential oils were man-kinds first medicine. From Egyptian hieroglyphics to Chinese manuscripts, we know that priest and physicians have been using essential oils for a very long time. They are even mentioned in the Bible, 188 references to be exact. Oils such as Frankincense, Rosemary, and Myrrh.
The first thing you should know is that essential oils are incredibly multipurpose! Lavender, for instance. Â It can be used to sooth skin, calming before bed and eliminate odors!
If you are not yet familiar with using essential oils, one of the best ways to experience their power is by using them to support your bodyâs wellness, like I have. My family and I have chosen essential oils over all the medicines in our medicine cabinets. Why? Because they work for us.
Whether you want to enjoy healthy skin, boosting immunity, for relaxation and better sleep, for stamina and boosting energy, and for uplifting your spirit, I would HANDS DOWN recommend Young Living Essential Oils.
Young Living has a process called Seed to Seal, it is a three step system to produce the purest oils. If a batch has even the tiniest flaw it is thrown out. If you are interested in learning more about the Seed to Seal with Young Living click Here.
If you have a more specific concern you are wanting to address with the oils, you will need to do some research. Â Keep in mind that essential oils may work differently depending on the person. Â Sometimes a few tweaks are required to find out what works best for YOU. Research really taught me about what to use when and how. Itâll be your best friend!
