Falling asleep on your kitchen floor was so often a regular occurrence. This time however, you weren’t waking up against hard wooden kitchen floor with your wits about you- instead, you’ve blinked your heavy eyes open to your head nestled in the lap of a certain sink-shaped man.

You had to feel your face for your Dateviators, just to make sure the situation was real.

“You’re back,” Sinclaire whispers, as to not startle you. You can feel his fingers stroking and twirling your hair, a shiny glisten in his eyes- though that may just be the reflection of the lights above you.

“Mar-? I mean- Sinclaire-?!”

You shot up from your laying position, though the fatigue was quick to set in. Though the feeling of Sinclaire cradling and caressing you was… one of the best sleeps you’ve had in a while, especially coming from someone who sleeps often- it was still semi-disorienting.

“You fell asleep during our date night.”

“Oh my god- Sinclaire, I’m sorry, I-“

“No, no, no, don’t be!” It was a gentle whisper-yell, the way he spoke, contrasting the way he used to snap at you before you started dating. Everything about Sinclaire has been so… different than what you were expecting. You used to get a little frightened when he would do so much as raise his voice at you, but now..? He’s gentle, kind, compassionate… never in a million years would you have expected to let yourself become this comfortable with him.

“Don’t worry, you’re… perfect, as always- just…- this whole relationship thing is new for me too, y’know. Let me know if I’m doing something to make you uncomfortable, alright..?”

You nod, and he readjusts to caress your shoulders, “Like… this? Does this make you feel comfortable..?”

You almost melt, a satisfied smile curling your lips as you nestled in closer to him, “Mhmmmm…”

You couldn’t see it, but Sinclaire tints a flustered pink when he sees you falling back to sleep, pulling you in as an equally-tired Sudsy came to rest near your feet.

Yeah I’m making a secret of the mimic oc only 2 days after it came out anyway idk what his name is yet but he was a bot that was originally created to help fix broken things, but the project was too complicated and over budget so it was scrapped. Gorgeous, evidently, is not… present in the moment. Yes, you, Johnny Splash’s gorgeous, good ol’ fashioned lover, had fallen asleep long before your date night had begun.

It’s not as if you wanted to be asleep. That’s just been your nature for as long as you could remember. Your fatal flaw. Falling asleep at the most inconvenient of times. In truth, you love Johnny Splash. You love listening to him ramble, holding his hand while he performed, just… listening to him in general. He holds a special place in your heart, and he always will.

…You just wish you could stay awake long enough to listen to him.

That’s when you feel a gentle, surprisingly smooth hand, graze over your face. You blink awake— and the man is kneeled down to your sitting position. It’s such a surprise you nearly fall over yourself, but only collapse in Johnny’s arms.

He takes a moment to stand you up properly, and you could see him flustered for just a flash, before regaling composure and leaning on his showerhead-mic as he usually does.

“Gorgeous, you know I love seein’ that sleepy face of yours… quite so, but does my singing really bore you… that much..?”

The latter part of his sentence was solemn, tentative, and slightly disappointed.

Your half-lidded eyes jolt open, “OH- no, no, of course not! I love hearing you sing, it’s just… always been hard for me to stay awake. I’m sorry.”

His melancholic gaze shifts to a happier one when you say that, “…oh. OH! Gorgeous- you never told me you weren’t a mornin’ person! That’s… that’s more than alright! Don’t be sorry, I’m the one who should apologize. I suppose I.. I come off a little strong sometimes. But that’s neither here nor there.”

He takes your hand, kissing it softly. You supposed that was his way of saying sorry. It was an endearing thing. You could see his eyes sparkle with the same stars that so often appeared in your dreams when he looks up at you, an idea lingering in his head.

“Tell you what, Gorgeous,” a playful expression curls his lips, “We’ll figure all this… ‘American Maestro’ mumble-jumbo by next mornin’. For now? I’d be honored if I could sing you to sleep. Would you… like that..?”

“More than anything in the world, Johnny.”

With that, Johnny, picks you up, carrying you bridal style, and hummed a tune that, as goofy as he sounded while singing it, was completely from the heart. A tune that soothed your weary body and sent you away to that land of dreams you were so familiar with.
