The Payphone Encounter Part 2
I noticed that my key, still in the ignition, slowly began to turn. My window wipers started moving back and forth. Headlights began to turn on and off. The temperature gauge on my dash changed from hot to cold cold to hot. I started to both sweat and shiver. At that exact moment, the car's sunroof above me was forcefully being pulled off. And the soft sounds of the wind were now becoming unbearably loud. Then, the roof was completely ripped off. Effortlessly. A rush of orange dust began to pound against my face. My cigarette went flying off my hand into the distant orange abyss. The sand was all over my hair and inside my mouth. My white linen shirt was now completely covered in orange. The dust was all around me. It felt like I was in this massive orange tornado. I looked up at the sky again. I noticed the sky's color had changed to burgundy, with stars surrounding it. Instinctually, I knew now that myself and the vehicle were in the eye of this storm. Even more frightened than before. I decided to take shelter underneath the steering wheel. As soon as I was under. I could feel the car slowly levitating off the ground. Then, out of nowhere... That unknown man's voice interrupted me. He asked me a particular question, which confused the hell out of me, but I was also surprisingly surprised that he knew it had something to do with extraterrestrials.
I kinda brushed it off and told him not entirely. I explained to him that it felt like I was getting transported or even abducted, but I couldn’t see who or what was controlling the vehicle. I then continued on with telling him my dream. So the car began to spin, and the higher I was off the ground, the faster it would turn. Feeling so dizzy I could throw up. I began to close my eyes. And it was as if my life started flashing before it. I knew I was going to wake up at this point from this nightmare. Yet my head slammed into the sliding door, and I passed out.
I then opened my eyes and lifted my head above the steering wheel. My neck had a sharp pain, and I sat back down in the car's front seat. I was perplexed, unaware of where I was, but besides the pain, it was tranquil. The dust was no longer around me, and the deafening sounds of the strong winds were. Instead replaced by the sound of birds chirping. Once again, I was back on the ground. Yet, My vision would go in and out, and my ears rang loudly until I got out of the car and planted my feet on the orange sand again. I bent my knees, feeling the sand in front of me sway. I purged. That made me feel so much better. The blurry vision and ringing started to disappear, and I began noticing more of my surroundings. A river was steps away from me, and next to the river was a large and ominous cave. It almost looked like a giant rock. It was tan, virtually with a salmon-orange tone. You could see the rough edges of it. And it had a massive dark opening. Something about this place looked so familiar. I began to remember my mom's trips to areas across Arizona, especially Sedona. She had showed me photos of this small river with this massive cave in front of it. At that particular time, she was picking apart parts of the rock from the inside. She was doing experiments on different stones within the cave. Testing their adaptability to other liquids. Such as various oils and river water. She said the place had mystical healing powers. She called it an energy vortex, which, from what she told me, is a metaphysical plain that can heal the sick and awaken the unawakened.
I wasn't much of a spiritual guy nor into this metaphysical mumbo jumbo, but I could tell this place changed my mom. She felt uplifted and more empowered when she got home that day. It seemed like she turned. It was probably the reason for her divorcing my dad a couple of months later. Anyway, she gave me one of the rocks as a gift. She tied it around some string and made me a little necklace. I carry it in my pocket to this day. And in this dream as well, I believe it was also in my pocket. Now I remember, yes, the back pocket. So I took the stone out and put it in front of my face, thinking that it matched the exact place my mom showed me in photos many years ago. It wasn't, unfortunately, similar, but no. I decided to walk over to the river nearby and saw my reflection. I had a big scar, gaped open with blood on the left side of my head. I took a scoop of water and rubbed it all over my face and the back of my neck. It stung like crazy, but I started to notice my reflection in the water. The Scar that I had initially begun to heal itself immediately. Also, I stopped feeling pain in my neck. Furthermore, the dust that had initially covered most of my face had vanished. If the water washed that orange dust away, I thought it could do the same for my clothes. I rubbed some of the river water on my orange shirt and pants. Steam began to rise from my clothes, and similar to what happened earlier, the dust had suddenly wholly dissolved. I felt transformed and healthy again. This water was magical, I thought. I went back to the car and leaned against the hood. I crossed my arms and began looking at the ominous cave before me. The question I started to ask myself and began to ponder. Should I go inside the cave? Or should I just go back into the car? Which didn't even have a scratch, except for the utterly missing top. I began to pace back and forth across the orange sand. Afraid to enter into this dark cave. I had to do some positive self-talk. I started to realize how ridiculous the situation was becoming. Of course, I understood everything happens for a reason, but it was insane if I had to now go inside of this cave. Holding those thoughts, I continued to pace, and then I felt the ground underneath me shake.

The Payphone Encounter Part 1
Digital Diary Entry Nov 22nd 2025
The sweat poured down my face. My eyes were bloodshot, hands in sheer pain. There was a shadow of a man in front of me. His face was consumed by darkness and smoke. He was wearing a hat with a brim And a long trench coat. That's all I could make out. He reeked of vintage Cuban cigars. A no-bullshit kind of guy. He wanted his questions answered and answered fast. I cut to the chase and told him everything he needed to hear. Mainly the conversations I had with that unknown man on the other line of the payphone and everything that happened that traumatic night. Starting with that Extremely vivid and horrifying Dream.

I was driving from Phoenix to Sedona. Don’t know why I was doing it. But it had something to do with Cathedral Rock. It was evening time, maybe four or five. The sky around me. Almost had a yellowish-orange. It was a beautiful evening. Not too hot or cold; it was just right. I was in a 1966 Lincoln Continental. It had a white clam exterior and a ruby-red upholstery. With light blue-tinted windows. The car my father used to drive. He loves his classic cars. Anyway, I was going about forty-five on the Arizona State Route 89A. On my left, I could see beautiful rock formations. It reminded me a lot of the Old John Ford Western Films and Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road. On my right were large, luscious, beautiful green pine trees. I rolled down my window, smelling the fresh scent of pine wafting through the air. As I continued to drive, the smell began to fade. And less and less of these trees appeared in my field of view. I could only see brown sand and miles upon miles of small bushes clumped together on either side. But the rock structures were still there, creating a beautiful backdrop. It was truly breathtaking. It filled me with so much joy that I decided to drive faster. I was going now about eighty. I could also feel the wind and that relaxing ice-cold breeze through my hair. That engine was purring. Then, all of a sudden, the car began to lose its juice. The speedometer was slowly dropping from eighty to sixty, sixty to forty. I began to hear a loud, hissing noise. So I pulled into this small dirt road in front of a mound of small bushes. I exited the car and tried to figure out what was wrong. I decided to check out the hood first. I opened the hood, and a lot of black smoke rushed into my face. Fanning it out, I knew the fan belt or possibly the engine. Put the hood down. I leaned on the side of the vehicle. I rubbed the black soot off my face with the bandana I had worn around my neck. Took out my cigarette and lit it. Whatever happens, happens. I whispered under my breath. I then sighed and looked up at the sky in slight anger. I could see it changing quickly from its original yellowish-orange to yellow.
The clouds began to part. The Sky started to get darker; I could hear the loud sounds of thunder in the distance and saw streaks of lighting hitting the nearby mountains around me. I looked down at my feet and noticed the brown sand turning bright orange. Startled, I returned to the car, rolled up the windows and the sunroof, and locked the doors. Took my phone out of my pocket; there was No signal! I needed to calm myself down. I took a deep breath, reached into the glove box, and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. As I took a drag of my second cigarette, I began to hear the sounds of the wind echoing through the mountains. I could see the particles of orange dust hitting my car, beginning to pile up all around its windows. Almost sticking. Gradually, the wind started to get more powerful and louder. It had such strength and such force. It could lift the right tire at one point, at least for a few seconds. Until the tire crashed down into that sandy orange abyss below me. My dashboard was now fogged up, and so were my side windows. I could barely see anything. The only thing I noticed was the road behind me. Then, there was a lull in the storm. I felt like the chaos was over for a moment, but little did I know it was just beginning.
