Hi, my name is Ethan Namoch, Multimedia Arts student from the Philippines.I am one of the cofounders of a music + arts collective Youngliquidgang~~.I play guitars in a band called Rome and the Cats. I have 2 solo projects: MERLINDA/WALLS and COEXIST. I also have a side project with Mao called What is Andromeda?I basically write blogs with grammatical errors, do visual graphics, and the rest is in music. Friends say that I'm a deep thinker and serious, but I'm sort of frank and ~*annoying*~ as well.Buy milktea or coffee with me, and I might just cancel my daily plans just to have that "talk" with you. I am one sweet nigga.

Intended preoccupation
I don't remember the last time I did a blog update without looking at the date of my last entry. This is probably an 'old trend' and only a few probably still do this habit. For me, this will be a back-to-basics kind of thing.
For the past few months, I've been on hiatus. I have taken a break from my music ego, in able for me to focus on my remaining units for college. Though, I have to admit, I do miss it and from time to time, I sneak the habit of producing new tracks on my free time. It feels a bit weird, like this abstinence that I've been doing is against my inner nature. Ever since I've invested this ample amount of confidence for music making, I feel like I've grown wiser and more understanding to what path I wanted to go, even as an undergraduate.
I guess being part of the local music scene has evolved me into something unbreakable. This drive has definitely brought me into a different dimension.
As time passes by and every free time I have burnt for music, I feel like my creativity is draining. Don't get me wrong, I still believe my drive is still here with me, but I've become a little bit more conscious on what I put out next.
I believe I have probably drawn into familiarity of my sound, instead of drawing into something unexplored and new.
So I began isolation, generally. Most of the time, I would be alone. *I have to admit again, I missed being a lone wolf or something* Ever since I co-founded our music collective (Youngliquidgang) I believe I spiraled into uplifting the collective spirit, rather than building my own. *Don't get me wrong, I really love the gang that's why I want to uplift our collective to the local scene* but I have lost my nature as a person.
That is when I realized it. I've been focused on my nature as a musician, that I lost the nature of how I exerted an effort to become a musician. It was being human, that I have forgotten.
Most of my songs and concepts (COEXIST) come from instances of what I experienced, not only in my facade but also in another's world revolving someone else's.
So, I've scratched everything up. I went back-to-basics. I visited friends from their yuppie life, spent some of my free time hanging out again. Though my online presence is starting to become dull, probably because I wanted things taken person- to-person.
Watched a shit-ton of movies (and series). At the moment, I've been trying to practice the act of collaboration (I'm not really good at it, even if I promote it very much. (haha)
At the moment, I have a couple of film scoring projects at hand. I'm also mastering the upcoming No Rome LP to be released under Number Line Records probably late 2014.
It's also my pleasure to announce that I've begun conceptual phase for a COEXIST LP. I don't have a target release yet, but if fate is in favor, it would be next year 2015 probably. I've been preparing a lot of gear, trial and error, and experiments on this one. The rest will probably be announced soon.
That's about it. I guess what I can say about times like this is a British custom quote "To err is human, to forgive divine." In this kind of situation, It could mean that just because you're drifting away to your nature, does not mean you're already going on the wrong way.
