Setting - Doctor asleep / unconscious - *comes to suddenly shouting*
Doctor: “River!!!”
Fam/companion: “There’s no river here.”
*Doctor stands, starts pacing*
Doctor: “River knocked me out!”
Fam/companion: “No, no, river, Doc the (insert plausible scenario with Judoon) did, seems it rung ya bell good, too.”
Doctor: “How long was I out?”
*Before Fam/companion can answer Doctor continues speaking / thinking aloud.*
Doctor: “Where did the handcuffs come from?”
Fam/companion: “Ehm, just 5 or 6 minutes, and Doc you aren’t handcuffed”
Doctor: “Yes, I was. does sound right? I think,so. Autodestruct was in 10 minutes?
Fam/companion: “Autodistruct! What now? How long do we have?”
Doctor: *Distracted* “Oh, thousands of years”
Fam/companion: “...”
Doctor: “What was it?” “It will stop both your hearts, and don’t think you’ll regenerate.” “ that’s right , I was too young, I needed to crash land into a garden.”
Fam/companion: “You crash landed on a train to Sheffield, and what will stop you hearts?”
Doctor: “Not mine, it stopped both of Rivers hearts”.
Fam/companion: “Doctor, rivers don’t have hearts.”
Doctor: “River does, and human plus timelord DNA.” “No, not Timelord, River wasn’t from Gallifrey, was never subject to their laws.” “Rivers a child of the TARDIS, why would she have had limited regenerations, she shouldn’t have..”
Fam/companion: “So this River...is?
Doctor: “They said she used them up but how would they know, because they wouldn’t know Timelords secrets.” “Did they lie?” “She had not time traveled a lot then, would that have mattered? To a child of TARDIS, maybe so.”
Fam/companion: “Doctor I/we saw a room in the TARDIS called labeled TheForest.” “It had trees inside.”
Doctor: “Yes!! Great spot for a picnic.”
Fam/companion: “On either side there were locked rooms labeled the ‘The Ponds’ and ‘Rivers’
Doctor: “Yes, the Ponds kept losing them, and the TARDIS liked them...maybe it was a game, hiding them?”
Fam/companion: “Who are the Ponds?”
Doctor: “Rivers parents.”
Fam/companion: *sigh* “Of course, why not. Doc, who is River?”
Doctor: “My wife.”
Fam/companion: “Your married!!” “Are you going to introduce us?” “Why haven’t we met her?”
Doctor: “She died the day I met her, right before my eyes... at least that’s what I’ve always believed.”
Fam/companion: “How’s that possible?”
Doctor: “That first time I thought she was human, but really she’d been a time traveler all her life, with Human plus DNA, with two hearts, a child of the TARDIS that had already regenerated twice.” “She use to steal my TARDIS for joy rides, and bring her back before I’d ever notice.” “Why would I think she was human?” “Why a space suit? She jumped out of airlocks and off buildings in just ball gowns.”
Fam/companion: “Doc....”
Doctor: “There was ten minutes on the autodestruct, I sent River away with Lux, I spoke to the Vashta Nerada, River came right back and knocked me out. Next thing I know I’m handcuffed and there’s two minutes left on the autodestruct.” “Who keeps handcuffs in a spacesuit?” “I had 1000+ years and the best I could come up with was to save Rivers consciousness to The Library, all because I thought I saw River die.” What happened while I wasn’t seeing River, what did she do or change.?”
Fam/companion: “Doctor, if you saved her consciousness, can’t you just go to the Library and ask her what she did?”
Doctor: “Yes..No? She said I didn’t visit.” She didn’t think I could see her, but I always could.
Fam/companion: “When? where?”
Doctor: “In the future” “I didn’t know about the flesh I hadn’t met them yet.” “At my grave.” “And twice tricked, Amy wasn’t Amy and Melody wasn’t Melody. What if tricked a third time? Or would it be the first? Maybe River wasn’t always River.?”
Fam/companion: “Where do Amy and Melody fit into all this?”
Doctor: “ Who carries handcuffs in a space suit?” “Amy was worried her child would be born with a “time head”or something.” “Once Amy grew up with a crack in her wall, I pulled a piece of my TARDIS out of it.”
Fam/companion: “Thanks, makes perfect sense Doctor.”
Doctor: “River was never subjected to the Timelord laws. “The last time I saw her we spent one night at the restaurant listening to the Sing Towers. But one night lasts 24 standard earth years on Darillium. We’d get up, go on adventures. Oh, did we run. Just to be back in time for dinner on the balcony, and only rest for alittle while before starting all over again.” “She shouldn’t have had limited regenerations, certainly not anymore.”
Fam/companion: “What are you trying to say exactly?”
Doctor: *whispers* “Rivers diary shouldn’t have ended that day, at worst she should’ve regenerated.” “I think I have to save Doctor Song, Professor of Archaeology, from The Library, again, but better this time.” “I can’t risk seeing her regenerate right in front of my eyes.” “Although, I will still need to believe that she died, I’d always believed it a fixed point.” “I might need your help.”
“Rule one: the doctor lies.” Says the woman next to Captain Jack.
*the Doctor stops pacing and looks up to stare, whispers* “Spoilers”
“Hello Sweetie.”

CLASSIC DOCTOR WHO Seven and Ace in Survival Part 3
There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, where the sea’s asleep and the rivers dream. People made of smoke and cities made of song. Somewhere there’s danger. Somewhere there’s injustice. Somewhere else the tea’s getting cold. Come on, Ace, we’ve got work to do.

River Song is Clever!
Watch any of her episodes, or listen to any of the Diary of River Song Series’s or crossovers in other Series’s from Big Finish.
Rivers death is a fixed point in time, we all saw it with a flash of light and the Doctor looking away.
On screen the Doctor invited River to witness his own death, a fixed point in time at Lake Silencio. The Doctor demonstrated how to trick a fixed point using a robot suit.
In TDofRS series 4 Kings of Infinite Space audio River uses a robot duplicate to trick the Discordia into thinking she died and then uses the Robot Head to trick them again.
I mean I suppose you shouldn’t use the same trick twice, but we never did see how River acquired her robot duplicate, it probably cost a “pretty penny”. Did an older River with $$$$ have it made and sent it back to her younger self? Didn’t the sale of the Halassi Androvar diamond go through before the explosion? The thing is once the Dyscordia timeline was reset would that mean Robot River was no longer destroyed?
Back on screen with the Husbands of River Song, The Doctor gave her a sonic within their first few moments on Darillium. There’s no way in 24 years that she didn’t figure out it had an easily removable cover and what was under it, and it’s use. He even indicated to her the next time she called for him after Darillium he wouldn’t be able to fix it, there was no loophole.
Don’t tell me in 24 years River didn’t come up with a plan to save herself.
After all the first time we meet River one she tells us she always lies she has to, and two when the Doctor needs something she always has it, be it lights, a packed lunch, or Jack’s squareness gun. River is an archaeologist and she does her research.
River spoilers Darillium for the Doctor. Says he’ll take her. But he always cancels, The Doctor hates endings. So River had to take the Doctor. Because we were told it’s not a coincidence she was standing in the exact spot they were standing before the ship the harmony and redemption was struck by a meteor.
River left with Lux but then sent him on ahead without her, did she immediately go back to with the Doctor? He did get to have a few minutes conversation, before River knocked him unconscious. And then several minutes pass while we’re not watching as it’s suddenly near to the end of the countdown.
Did River do something clever and save her life? Is that why she told the Doctor not to change one line, because if he did it would mess up her plan?
It’s happened “before”, going back to Big Finish’s a story with the Discordia in it the Doctor dismantles River’s trap she set up with the TARDIS for them, messing up her plan.
Did we never get to see Rivers wrist underneath the spacesuit? We don’t know that she didn’t have a vortex manipulator to do something clever with do we?
Or would a future version of the Doctor show up in those minutes we didn’t see on screen finally finding a loophole and that’s why the Doctor believes River died?
Recall for 400 years the Doctor believed the destruction of Gallifrey was on them in order to end the Time War.
Timelord memories are uploaded to The Matrix when they die, but who wants to be stuck on a matrix on Gallifrey, after all they can’t be trusted.
After all wasn’t the chair empty when The Doctor runs back with River’s sonic.
And when you think about it The Library has pretty nearly all the same defenses as Gallifrey’s Matrix.
The moon around the planet is called Doctor, when one has infinite faces they probably need a special data storage unit all their own.
But nothing says that a copy of Rivers consciousness can’t be uploaded to a computer while the original still walks around in her body.

A microspan was a small unit of time used on Gallifrey, (AUDIO: Weapon of Choice, et al.) shorter than a span (AUDIO: Forever) but longer than a nanospan.
As employed by Lord President Romana, Darkel and K9 Marks I and II, it seemed to indicate a length of time somewhere between Earth seconds and minutes. (AUDIO: Gallifrey)
so how long is a “microspan” in human terms, anyways?

I found you. A lost child, alone, beneath a monument on a deserted planet, seemingly deposited thereby a wormhole. No way back, no one to care for you.

As well as the code for the hold lock beam on the Lupari ship, there’s also a log of all outgoing Sontaran transmissions.
