I abandoned this project for about 2 years but I'm back & the discord is easier to join now. We're dedicated to:

- making MOGAI accesible and understandable to everyone, which includes adding alt text to all our images

- remaining neutral & impartial

- adding history sections and proper citation to all our pages

- becoming less USAmerican/Western-centric

- archiving everything properly so nothing is lost to the winds of the internet

mogaiwiki.miraheze.org is a wiki that was start in September of 2020. We’ve flown pretty under the radar, mostly because there’s a huge announcement on our front page telling everyone that we’re on hiatus.

Well, we’re no longer on hiatus! It’s a long story; you can read all about it here. We have about 2,000 pages–including the entire Genderstajon system and a whole load of Oxigenders–and we’re looking for editors.

So if all that sounds good, you can join the discord, or just jump straight to the wiki and start looking around :)

Femflux & Mascflux

Femflux Definition

Femflux has two definitions:

1) The original definition, which is “a gender that fluctuates from female to agender”.

2) Fluctuating feelings of femininity that are not necessarily female.

Femflux History

The term “femflux” has been around since at least 2015 as a synonym for girlflux (hence the “original” definition), though it wasn’t officially coined until 2016 by thelightfluxtastic. The spelling of “femmeflux” is less popular since femme is a term used by many in the MOGAI community to describe those with feminine gender presentations. The second definition of femflux (fluctuating feelings of femininity that are not necessarily female) was most likely coined (or at least popularized) by what-the-heck-gender-am-i in 2016.

Femflux Flags

The femflux flag was made by nblw-nonsense. It was based off of this graphic by askagenderfluidandgenderflux.

Mascflux Definition

Mascflux has two definitions:

1) The original definition, which is “a gender that fluctuates from male to agender”.

2) Fluctuating feelings of masculinity that are not necessarily male.

Mascflux History

Similar to femflux, the term “mascflux” has been around since at least 2015 as a synonym for boyflux (hence the “original” definition). The second definition was most likely coined (or at least popularized) by what-the-heck-gender-am-i in 2016.

Mascflux Flags

The first known mascflux flag was created by lightningfilledsaber in 2018. The top brown stripe represents life and comfort. The second purple stripe represents compassion and subverting traditional ideas of masculinity. The third light bluw stripe represents more traditional ideas of masculinity. The final white stripes represents an absence of gender.

Another flag was made by transzoemurphy in 2019. It uses colours from the boyflux flag (which has shades of blue and green) and the genderflux flag (which has white and yellow).

Yet another flag was created in 2020 by grove-sky (aka grove-flags, cerulean-pastel) to mirror the femflux flag.
