i miss him. I am a widower waiting upon the cliffside, lantern overlooking the dark sea. Foam fizzles upon the rocks below, waves taking a touch of land away with them. Each lap of water is bringing me closer to joining the ocean. Two more weeks, I tell myself. His associates have arrived to shore safely last week; Their boat floats by the docks, bobbing with each pull of the tide. My lantern only has so much oil before I am taken by darkness. Will he be home next week? Will it be the week after? Or shall I wait in the unknown for eternity? He is lost at sea.

I haven’t drawn fanart for many years, but this cool character and the delightfully Victorian gothic atmosphere of the manga came to mind recently.
