We haven't, unfortunately. We've been having a lot of medical appointments lately resulting in quite a bit of pain, so we haven't been watching much stuff.

I'm also very proud that Precure has given us a character like Nodoka! Girl, I was literally crying during the first episode because I had also needed to be in the hospital just a year prior to this show. Plus my stamina issues on top of that? I relate so hard. Shoutout to her beating the crap out of Daruizen - such a satisfying moment :)

For sure! It's really important to me that a girl like her gets to say no to helping someone after the franchise is so forgiveness-focused. It's good to teach that that kind of forgiveness isn't owed, too.

Context To Ask

I have a lot! Some of these based in canon due to what we're shown, some I feel can be interpreted this way, and some of these purely projection.

Hanadera Nodoka - moreso canon, but chronic fatigue and a few respiratory issues after her initial infection. Even in All Stars F we see her struggling to keep up with the train when the other girls were managing to due to this, before Rabirin steps into help.

Yumehara Nozomi - She's definitely neurodivergent, she's incredibly autism-coded, even if they never explicitly say the word. The girl has stimmed on screen before, she has a very particular style of learning and understanding the world, and I can definitely relate in a lot of ways.

Hoshizora Miyuki - Lack of muscle memory. I myself struggle with, on top of chronic fatigue and respiratory issues, no muscle memory for anything I try to learn after age five. We see Miyuki's level of clumsiness to the point that it isn't JUST clumsiness. She injures her entire hand when attempting to help sew a gift for Akane - injuries when sewing are normal, but that amount, to me, point toward something deeper. Not to mention, her struggle to catch volleyballs, the entire school trip episode with her immense bad luck, how her gift for her mother came out, etc. It reminds me of myself trying to learn new skills I didn't already have the muscle memory for at five, since it doesn't stick.

Natsuumi Manatsu - Neurodivergence again! this girl is SO Audhd coded, she's got the autism, she's got the ADHD, I don't have much to support this other than pointing at her and saying "Just look at the show!" because that's how it feels to me, there's so many moments that there'd be too many to list here.

Takizawa Asuka - Sensory Issues. She can only sleep with a particular pillow everywhere, her own personal pillow from home. Any other pillow feels wrong to her, to the point the other girls spend an episode rushing across the country, transformed, just to make sure they can deliver the pillow to her so she can sleep well.

It's DISABILITY PRIDE MONTH and so I am humbly asking for your best disabled headcanons for precure characters! Physical, sensory, neurodivergency, etc... the works!

Happy Disability Pride Month! As someone with chronic pain and fatigue, it meant so much to me to have a character like Nodoka in a show like Precure. She's one of the Only characters I can think of that actually deals with that kind of thing as a major part of her story, without overshadowing her as a character, and I just love that for her. I'm sure she helped a lot of kids feel seen, like she did for me!

Aww the pigeon! I know someone in my family that absolutely adores birds, especially the colorful and vibrant ones. Personally, I have a strong appeal towards seagulls - I already love the sea but they're also such silly lil birds. Love to spread out seeds for the birds to enjoy :)

We have a lot of seagulls here, too, and they're so pretty! Birds are beautiful creatures with how their feathers are, not only are they vibrant and colorful at times, their feathers are so so soft regardless of color! I love how soft and fluffy birds can feel.

Seagulls are very silly birds! It can look like they're always scowling and glaring at you - and they're very determined about stealing food where I am. I admire that, though! It shows they're courageous birds who are willing to jump in no matter what!

Mutsutoshi is an individual who is stuck socialising with othersm regardless of his intentions. He doesn't get his energy back from hanging out with people - and he doesn't exactly think highly of them, but he is interested by them, Mutsutoshi wants to find out what makes people tick, what puts them in the position to think in the way they do, and as such, puts himself into these social situations to find out... as much as it drains his energy. He likes parties, voice calls, gaming sessions, and more. Even when it comes to isolation activities, such as reading manga, he finds the room too quiet and eery, finding people to talk to while he reads. As much as this man may need to take time to himself, he never manages to - people always find their way into his life, and due to that, he's constantly fatigued.

Danganronpa Fan-Concept

Danganronpa is known for it's Ultimates, or Super High School Level (超高校級) individuals - those who are the best at what they do. With talents far surpassing the average person, to the point they're considered the future's potential for growth and flourishing. It's a fun idea.

Imagine if we reversed that.

This concept is for Untimates, or Atrocious High School Level (準高校級) individuals. These would be those who are the WORST at what they do, but are somehow still fated to remain in that field. An Untimate Zookeeper may be despised by animals, constantly injured, and not very well-versed in how to keep a zoo safe for civilians, yet is good with caring for the animals - a little too eager to give them enrichment, letting them wander outside of their enclosures. An Untimate Dental Practitioner could be any level of horrifying.

I've decided to design some Untimates of my own, but I'd really like to encourage others in the Danganronpa fandom to consider Untimates as a concept alongside Ultimates, and create some for the fun of it. Please, enjoy the Untimate concept.

Same anon that brought up Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon a while back here! I gotta say, I remember they were not working with a massive budget so it shows, but gosh the writing is so good. Love the new character arcs but also Minako's transformation sequence is just stunning ^^ Cheesy at times but charming I guess, there's a lot to love about it

Tokusatsu with low budget can be just as charming as those with higher budget! Personally, I think lower budget can make the characters more compelling, too! They have to put more into them for it to gain popularity or remain well-received if they don't have the money for other aspects.

The answer as to what was false? Setsuna never danced with Hinamori Amu's VA. We've never met Amu's VA. Piloting the 11th Doctor's first TARDIS console was at the Doctor Who experience, and Karen meeting herself was at the Precure Virtual World 2023.

I wonder if Yayoi or anyone else has ever watched that live action Sailor Moon show from back in 2003? 2004? (Somewhere in there!) Seems like it would be right up in her interests

I wasn't formed until around mid-2012, but I have gone back to watch a bit of it after forming! The tokusatsu show Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon in 2003! I found it really fun! And while some people might not like how it looks nowadays, I think the way it looks is a nice product of how early tokusatsu was! It's so cool! I like a lot of heroes like that in tokusatsu, from Kamen Riders to Super Sentai to Metal Heroes and more to magical girl tokusatsu! I should really rewatch it. Thank you for the ask, Anon!
