You’re not a bad person for loving HP as a child. You are not an evil person for wanting Harry Potter things before you knew about what she-who-deserves-all-shit did and does. I did both, Harry Potter made me start reading.

At first when I found out about the racism and transphobia (and more), I was ashamed of not seeing her books content fully even as a child. But I realized, how would I have been able to know? How would any child, who had found a source of happiness?

The only thing to be ashamed of, that makes you as bad as Rowling, is if you know about what she does, the hidden messages of racism in the books and you still support her.

There isn’t any third option. You either support her or you don’t. She earns money by YOU buying HP related things, so please, spread the information and show your support. Don’t be ashamed of liking a CHILDRENS book aimed at CHILDREN, be ashamed of supporting racism and transphobia.
