boomers love to take credit for ww2 but like, no they weren't even alive. they were just born because their fathers came back after Normandy and banged their mothers, so what have they even done noteworthy in their lives but shit on younger generations? they don't even work as hard as their parents did, but shame everyone else. Your father Dick would be ashamed of you.

Medical History- Nicole Sealey
I’ve been pregnant. I’ve had sex with a man
who’s had sex with men. I can’t sleep.
My mother has, my mother’s mother had,
asthma. My father had a stroke. My father’s
mother has high blood pressure.
Both grandfathers died from diabetes.
I drink. I don’t smoke. Xanax for flying.
Propranolol for anxiety. My eyes are bad.
I’m spooked by wind. Cousin Lilly died
from an aneurysm. Aunt Hilda, a heart attack.
Uncle Ken, wise as he was, was hit
by a car as if to disprove whatever theory
toward which I write. And, I understand,
the stars in the sky are already dead.

"oh taylor swift fans are crazy they get so mad when you criticize her". Because it is fucking exhausting. Every day, to be told you are an idiot and horrible things just because you listen to Taylor Swift. It is exhausting to be bullied in school for someone you listen to. It is exhausting for someone to say the music you listened to at your darkest moments, when it comforted you when nothing else did, is trivial and cringe. It is exhausting. It sucks. Imagine if millions of people constantly hated on your favorite thing. Maybe then you wouldnt be such an asshole. Yk what. I will find your favorite thing and every time you mention it, I will hate on it, and say "actually that thing that means the world to you sucks. It is stupid. You are stupid for liking it"

Maybe, just maybe, instead of hating on Taylor Swift for watching football, you could put alllllllll that hate that you send towards women and girls, and, idk maybe be mad at the literal genocide happening right now. Just a thought

Having a traumatic childhood means you cannot talk even objectively about your basic foundational experiences without it being "venting", even if you're not actually venting. You just straight up have a huge chunk of your life you can't talk about, full stop, without it being trauma dumping.
And it not being socially acceptable to talk about your own childhood is super alienating. Sometimes people want to know why, and any answer you can give them is going to be off putting.
It's to the point I get irritated when something I said is framed as venting when I'm literally just talking about my life experiences, doing my best to keep emotion out of it.

At this point, IDGAF. No, I will not "debate" with you, if you think women dont deserve basic decency and the right to be in charge of their own bodies, if you dont support every single lgbtq identity regardless of if it fits your personal view of "acceptable" or "real". If you support genocide and use religion as an excuse to control people. If you "love the sinner hate the sin," if you support T*ump, if you are a "traditional" woman and preach "femininity", really just another version of misogyny. If you do not support basic human rights, I will not waste a single breath on you, I will have nothing to do with you. And I will block you, ignore you, have nothing to do with you. Because you are just plain wrong. And I am sick of yelling into the void just because you are obtuse

A Paper/ A Person/ A Promise" by Dr. Earl Reum
Once on a yellow piece of paper with green lines
he wrote a poem
And he called it "Chops"
because that was the name of his dog
And that's what it was all about
And his teacher gave him an A
and a gold star
And his mother hung it on the kitchen door
and read it to his aunts
That was the year Father Tracy
took all the kids to the zoo
And he let them sing on the bus
And his little sister was born
with tiny toenails and no hair
And his mother and father kissed a lot
And the girl around the corner sent him a
Valentine signed with a row of X's
and he had to ask his father what the X's meant
And his father always tucked him in bed at night
And was always there to do it.
Once on a piece of white paper with blue lines
he wrote a poem
And he called it "Autumn"
because that was the name of the season
And that's what it was all about
And his teacher gave him an A
and asked him to write more clearly
And his mother never hung it on the kitchen door
because of its new paint
and the kids told him
that Father Tracy smoked cigars
And left butts on the pews
And sometimes they would burn holes
That was the year his sister got glasses
with thick lenses and black frames
and the girl around the corner laughed
when he asked her to go see Santa Claus
And the kids told him why
his mother and father kissed a lot
And his father never tucked him in bed at night
And his father got mad
when he cried for him to do it.
Once on a paper torn from his notebook
he wrote a poem
And he called it "Innocence: A Question"
because that was the question about his girl
And that's what it was all about
And his professor gave him an A
and a strange steady look
And his mother never hung it on the kitchen door
because he never showed her
That was the year that Father Tracy died
And he forgot how the end
of the Apostle's Creed went
And he caught his sister
making out on the back porch
And his mother and father never kissed
or even talked
And the girl around the corner
wore too much makeup
That made him cough when he kissed her
but he kissed her anyway
because that was the thing to do
And at three a.m. he tucked himself into bed
his father snoring soundly.
That's why on the back of a brown paper bag
he tried another poem
And he called it "Absolutely Nothing"
Because that's what it was really all about
And he gave himself an A
and a slash on each damned wrist
and he hung it on the bathroom door
because this time he didn't think
he could reach the kitchen
I read this in the perks of being a wallflower, It kills me everytime

Funny how today people are still mourning (and our president and vice president are posting about) the 20 white children that died 11 years ago in a white suburban school, but all the ones who die in low income neighborhood shootings, are abused in the foster system, kids shot by police officers for stealing some candy or the children being bombed in Gaza right now just dont matter?? Dont think we dont notice how only the white children seem to be mourned and gain media attention. I'm not saying Sandy Hook isnt horrible and shouldnt be remembered, it is, I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of all of this, and pointing out how at the end of the day, the US doesnt care about any of us, and their "thoughts and prayers" are performative
