I am not dissing James May or Top Gear. I love him and Top Gear. It's simply because with his access to super cars, he can't be slower than me putting around in my Toyota Corolla at the speed limit

Mis-nomer day
At the point of writing, it has been raining cats & dogs for the better part of the hour. And its a Sunday.
Sundays should be full of sun, without any rainfall the entire day, so that people can frolic in the sun and get brown. This sunday has been devoid of sun in the last few hours of the day.
Cats & dogs is also an expression of the pouring rain and has no linkage to the four legged friends of ours. Why they called it dogs & cats when they aren't even aquatic creatures.
So we have a sunday that is missing some sun and heavy rain with no sign of parachuting canines and felines.
In such cases we should call it mis-nomer day and declare the next day a public holiday.
At least it will blow off the foreboding sense of gloom and bad times when Monday and most of all, work, comes around.

Dreams, like movies, transport you out of the harsh reality for a short period of time
I had a nice dream last night. Although you could hardly call nice dreams, nice, as they are dreams and not reality. But at least you got a respite from the cold uncaring world that is out there.
Anyway, my dream started with me and a girl waiting for the ferry to Sentosa. She was choosing food to bring there to eat and she choose quite a number of BBQ seafood.
While we were queuing up, she held my hand on her own accord and kissed me.
Then I woke up.

Search for Century Eggs
A special friend of mine asked me to search for good century eggs to bring back to her mum in Kuala Lumpur. Her mum has taken a liking to Singapore's Century Eggs, and requested for those in boxes of 20.
A few calls and SMS to my friends revealed that there is only one supplier in Singapore and the eggs are from China. A search on the net gave an address of premium heavenly Century Eggs. From Hong Kong. I can maybe FedEx the Hong Kong eggs over, but I don't want to apply for a food permit from AVA.
I went to Bugis to search for a clip for my mum and chanced upon this shop in the basement (after following those aunties shopping for food products)
And bingo... hope they will taste nice to my friend and her mum. Only $6.30

WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?
Definitely not about a bot.
Strangely, my first human memory is holding my dad's hand in a bookstore and asking him if death is like being asleep

A mis-match of skills and ability with your working title
There is this half way reaching middle aged bloke who has the same title (executive) as me who is managing the 6th floor warehouse.
I presume he has more pay than me, even with the same title, as his hair is thinning and is at least 10 or 15 years older than me.
He can't use Microsoft Office Suite. I don't think he even knows how to Google to find solutions. My manager admitted he is weak in this area and did say he boasts a lot of experience in the warehouse. Fine then. Knowing computers is not the do all, end all anyway.
By the statement of experience in the warehouse, you would have thought that he is a professional in the matters other than computers. Well, let it come to light that he needs me and another executive to help him plan and move some tables and computers into a new layout in his warehouse. He just sit there like a good for nothing blob and complain when things are not to his liking. The best part? He does not even give feedback on what he wants nor is he able to provide solutions.
I have, in the past, closed down and re-instate a warehouse by end of lease contract. Heck, I am 1 week in front of schedule. I have to find quotation for renovation quotes, find vendors to sell scrap materials, arrange with IT to take back their routers, arrange with the gas & electricity peeps and ordered the phone & internet lines to be ceased.
As well as packing and arranging furniture and documents to another site.
I did it all by myself without help. And it was the first time and so far, only time I did it.
If a green horn like me can do i by myself, why not you? You fat executive walrus

03/04/2011 Dinner at Takumi Tokyo
I like this bridge. Makes you feel you are transported to a foreign land as you drive on it
Here we are.. Dinner with a special friend
We had the set dinners
The presentation and service was impeccable. They refilled the Green Tea often and pass you new hot towels when the initial pieces are cold.
They actually wait for you to call for the bill although they are closing up.
My friend's set did not include a dessert and she did not like those on the menu. They still gave her a free ice cream sorbet.
