⁣ I wanted Elmont to be able to compete with Garden City, Carey, etc. However, like myself, in my neighborhood we do not get exposed to Lacrosse at a young age. My goal was to change that in hopes of making this sport competitive again for my high school. And potentially help in the possibility that one of these kids can get a scholarship & be blessed enough to experience some of the amazing things I did. Sports changed my life & took me off the streets⁣ ⁣ It meant a lot to do this at Gotham Avenue where it all started for me. We were kids just playing sports, working off pure athleticism. Now, all these young kids will leave this program with their own Lacrosse sticks, and a Cage that will be available to them at every park in the community so they can continue working on the fundamentals that began here ⁣ ⁣ As I go forward to cement myself in my other endeavors, my mind wouldn’t have been at ease if I didn’t do this. I feel like I can finally say I gave my community a piece of all the knowledge I gained through the time I was gone!! Took my Mom paint-balling for the 1st time I’m so grateful for how open-minded & youthful she is.
