Amazing news: Willem Dafoe will play Peter Van Houten in the movie adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars.

"I'm sharing this because this is a project that I am involved with and really believe is worthwhile. Kellie Waymire was an actress who appeared in "Star Trek: Enterprise" and "Six Feet Under," among other things, and who tragically died young due to mitral valve prolapse. What this project aims to do is raise money to donate to charities or hospitals that support research and/or treatment of this issue. A 100% voluntary donation would get you a piece of writing/artwork/video/etc. of your choosing, be it within the Star Trek fandom or outside of the Star Trek fandom. This project is just in its infancy right now, but I'm happy to donate what limited writing skills I have to helping a project that I think has the potential to make a difference. If you would be interested in donating your skills as a writer, artist, video maker, or any other sort of artistic medium to this project, contact Bee Bones, who is the genius behind this project and someone I'm incredibly proud to call my friend." I would also be totally down to do some Trek fandom writing. I specialize in Next Generation characters, but there are a few fandoms for which I would be comfortable writing. When I was a kid, you know I immigrated to the States in 1978, and I’m six years old and watching TV and I didn’t see any Asians on television. And you turn on Star Trek and there’s this Asian guy not chopping anybody up. He’s honorable, a helmsman of a spaceship, and it was a big, big deal for me to see that and have a role model.
