We’ve built a new toggle for you, Tumblr: Now you can choose whether or not your blog is viewable on the web. If you switch it off, your followers will still be able to see your posts in their dashboards (and like them, and reblog them), but anyone who tries to visit your blog at its URL will just get a big fat 404 error. Just a simple layer of privacy to let you better control who gets to see your stuff and who doesn’t.

It’s so weird that when you want to agree to do something, you can say “I’m up for it” or “I’m down” and it’ll pretty much mean the same thing.

So since this seems to be the Current Discourse™:

It’s not biphobic to make positivity posts for bi people who have preferences for and/or are dating certain genders holy shit. It’s not erasing what it means to be bisexual or “implying you really just want them to be gay/straight” by making posts aimed specifically at like, bi women in relationships with other women or who have preferences for other women.

Especially because in that case 1) if the post was made by a lesbian than its clearly an act of solidarity with and support towards other women in relationships with or attraction to other women 2) bi women in relationships with women (and bi men in relationships with other men) are going to face homophobia and the consequences of same gender relationships in society that bi people in relationships that are hetero aren’t going to face… That isn’t to say they’re privileged, but they won’t have to deal with the discrimination that comes specifically with being in a same gender relationship. So it makes sense to want to support them

But then at the same time if the post is specially for bi people in “straight relationships” that can be really important for bi people who get worried they’re invalid for having a “"normal (most acceptable type of) relationship”“ or not being “lgbt enough.” People tend to tell bi folk they’re faking if they’re in a man/woman relationship or prefer man/woman relationships. Posts that show support for them aren’t biphobic either.

And of course bi people in relationships with nonbinary folk or who are nonbinary themselves, or prefer nonbinary people. They’re basically completely erased and forgotten about, and some people say we can’t even be bi if we date nonbinary people. We absolutely need support and recognition.

As for saying its biphobic to make support posts specifically for bi people with preferences… no? Bi people have preferences? In fact one of the most harmful stereotypes I’ve seen when it comes to people figuring out if they are or aren’t bi or not is “you have to be attracted to every gender equally.” On the forum I use where I give advice to questioning LGBT+ teens I CONSTANTLY have young kids going “I think I’m bi but I prefer men so idk” or “I might be bi but I would rather date women so I’m worried I’m not” and telling them that bi people can and often do have preferences (example: me) tends to be a huge relief for them.

Like idk there’s this Discourse I’ve seen today that’s basically “if you dare insinuate that bi folk have a preference or make support posts specifically for bi folk who have preferences towards one gender or are in a relationship with one certain gender you’re biphobic because you’re erasing the face that they’re attracted to more than one gender.” And that’s so fucked up like sorry but as a bi person I can say with 100% certainty that many bi people absolutely have preferences and there’s literally nothing biphobic with showing support for and solidarity with bi people with said preferences or in relationships with a specific gender.

In fact in my honest opinion we really need it, and I’ll take it over shitty stereotypes and misconceptions absolutely any day.

In order to be my true friend, you have to want to talk to me when you’re busy. You also have to want to talk to me when you’re asleep. You also have to want to talk to me when you’re busy and you shouldn’t be on the phone/computer or else you’ll be fired, risking your livelihood. You have to cater to all my needs, and you should be my slave and not have life or other friends that you talk to. Especially if the talking to other friends is even slightly disproportionate to how much you talk to me in their favor!! I HAVE TO BE THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN YOUR LIFE!! YOU’RE MINE!!!!!!
