I LOVE MONTANA (i hate him… Put him in a blenda…) A LOT AND IT MEANS SM TO ME THAT THEYRE ATLEAST SOMEWHAT ACCURATE
It’s been very fun writing for Montana, I like writing him, both flaws and all and reminding myself that “He’s just a man” hehe
I’ve been a little worried on and off whether I am writing him accurately. I’ve seen a couple of my own favs butchered for a while so I’m glad I’m doing Montana some justice!

B-tee-dubz btw, for my pinch of followers following me. I am open to like, talk. I promise I don't bite. I'd love to talk about my works or characters in-gen. I like posting my headcanons to test the waters first so that I can get like a understanding from the crowd that I'm writing a character right
So PLEASE tell me AND talk to me if I'm writing your goobie correctly because I wanna be writing my goobie correctly with at least some sort of "thumbs-up" from the crowd that I'm going in the right direction. I wanna at least reach a universal understanding so that at least four out of five people in a group of a particular character can say "yeah that sounds like them"

I hate Montana
—I say this while writing passionate headcanons of him that's somehow more lengthier than my Miguel O'Hara one
It's insane to me that I've moved on from one sad antagonist in his 30s in the spider-man universe to ANOTHER sad antagonist in his 30s in the spider-man universe.

► Now Playing: Hozier - Angel of Small Death and The Codeine Scene
𐚁 I think about the fact that one of the decors in Montana's Big Sky bar quite literally says:
"NO FIGHTING, SPITTING, GAMBLING, CUSSING, SCRATCHING!"
... My personal hc of that is that Montana had placed up that set of rules a long time ago, back when he had initially gotten Big Sky for the first time. This would be at a time where he was also in the process of starting out his job as an Enforcer or at least a job akin to it (basic mercenary work) before his big score working for Tombstone. It'd be a time that he'd still have some level of morality in him and a wish to be "good" but, gradually the rules just begun to lose its meaning altogether. Good men and heroes don't get paid to just simply be good, unfortunately. So, he probably stopped reinforcing the rules, at least some of them. Hell, he probably doesn't even actually follow all if not a few of them.
But he still keeps it up, just as a reminder.
𐚁 Montana's got a pick-up truck. I'm sorry. He just genuinely gives me the vibe of some guy who owns a pickup truck and HEY. It's incredibly convenient for him I'd like to think (probably has a Dodge Ram or something too... Although, you can honestly change that because I am NOT familiar with car breeds, forgive me). With his bar, I'd imagine he'd probably need something to bring in new furniture he'd find or other.
He'd use it in his line of work too, when Big Man sends out a hit on a particular unlucky individual, the bodies might need moving or shovels need to be brought, maybe a can of gasoline. It's efficient, convenient and it's his.
—Said pickup truck would also probably be old, like really old. Definitely was used before he got proper ownership of it. It's black, and its interior has a bit of worn down leather seats. He's probably got one of those little pine tree air fresheners that smell of "black ice", and more often than not you'll find half-empty cigarette boxes, or a pair of leather gloves, a tool he'd been looking weeks for lost beneath the seats, something like that.
𐚁 He's got another vehicle too, and it wasn't initially intended to be there but... I'd like to imagine that Montana in his youth at least had some and if not one irresponsible spending. Maybe it was his first big paycheck and he started saving before this came along and caught his eye... That being a motorcycle (grrr... My head has been filled with biker montana propaganda... grrr...). Nights of adrenaline sparking joy rides, and reckless runs have now been reduced since he moved to the big city. It's hard to relive nights of speeding down long roads when the traffic is that bad, so the bike kind of just sits neglected from time to time until the opportunity presents itself for him to feel a bit young for once. Plus, it occasionally gets its moments of daylight whenever his truck ends up breaking down. It's always good to have a backup.
𐚁 He likes country music, that much is probably a no-brainer, but if we're being specific. I think he'd like country blues, and if I was to be REALLY specific about it—Chicago and Texas blues. He's got a few records and discs that sit around in his office in the back, probably stuff like "Pride and Joy" or "Texas Flood" by Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, or maybe even "At Home Alone" by John Primer, just something he can play in the background while drinking by himself in his bar on late nights.
𐚁 Montana's not entirely a traditional man, and he's not that close-minded I'd like to think... BUT, that isn't to say that he still has a few beliefs in him that might be considered old fashioned to a degree like the idea of "being a man" or some other subjects. Something about the idea that a man must carry all the responsibilities and the weight of it by himself, is a thought that's embedded itself into his mind, hard-wired. The idea of being emotionally vulnerable and open about his emotions, past, or even everything he's been through so far is a no go. Crying? Hell no, not in front of people and not ever. He will not allow that for himself or the privilege of anybody else seeing that. Some of his beliefs almost and UNCOMFORTABLY border on toxic masculinity, the idea of "controlling your emotions" instead of letting them run rampant runs in his mind and it joins hand-in-hand with the unhealthy notion that "you shouldn't be emotional or open about what you're feeling."
𐚁 A few other ideas that he holds himself up to is to refuse the offer of help, not when he can do it himself. He's faced the experience of how cruel and unforgiving life can be in the form of a complete punch to the face type of lesson, and stack that on a few times? He's practically grown used to it. He's incredibly firm about how self-sufficient he is, and he's stubborn about it. Asking for help from anybody but himself is another cemented thought process he has, and he has the attitude that he trusts himself first over anybody else (even his own Enforcers). Unless he's in a state where he's in a physically/medically critical situation or straight up knocked out, you are going to be going through the TRENCHES trying to get this man to genuinely get off his high horse about receiving help, this extends to confronting him about any emotional/mental problems he has.
𐚁 There's also natural part of him that refuses to allow people to get incredibly close to him. That isn't to say he is incapable of having any close relationships whether it's romantic or platonic. He just prefers (for the better) some sort of distance just enough to sever off the feelings in him and lie to himself that whatever relation he had meant nothing, or at least not as much as he'd like to lie to himself about. He is in a dangerous line of work, the idea of having a relationship, much less a friendship that forces him to care about someone deeply is admittedly terrifying when they could disappear from his life at any moment. It's why he mainly sticks to either having some friendships, and hookups/flings. Leaves him often feeling lonely at times, but in his personal mind. It's for the better of himself. A self-made martyr designed for nobody else but him.
𐚁 Speaking of intimacy/closeness/and relationship stuff like that, I also think he'd also have a bit of repressed homosexuality. It's already scary enough for him to be with a woman and care for them deeply, but being with a man? That's just as equally conflicting, and if not more so. It's not to say that being against homosexuality was something that was heavily pushed down his throat. He probably had some sort of experience with religion at some point in his life. He probably never even thought of how he personally felt about it until a situation would have to arrive and slap him in the face over it. He's not used to the idea and even at times when he gets as close as he is with a man, he would never realize how close or how comfortable he is until it bites him in the ass and haunts him. He wouldn't even have a proper reason of why it's wrong or how it's "not right" in the first place which would send him even further down the pit of questioning himself.
𐚁 I'd also headcanon him personally as a man who's not really religious either. Faintly monotheistic? I think he'd at least believe there's some kind of Hell or Heaven, or maybe even some kind of god up there but it's not really a strong belief either. He's more than open to using the lord's name in vain rather than keeping it clean off his tongue. He just barely dances the line between atheist and monotheist, with some ghost of Christian belief in him. (Also, it's more fun that way to make him go insane when he can't directly use God/religious beliefs as a reason to why he feels "pressed" about his homosexuality. Yess... Make this man dread. Make this man search for a reason he has no belief in. Make this man question himself... Gay thoughts... Gay thoughts be upon ye—also if it matters to anybody, probably not, I personally headcanon him as at least bi with a little male-leaning preference... Then again I do it with every character I come across. Call me King Pride-ass)
𐚁 Used to be a huge flirt when he was younger, definitely was more prone to a few hookups and flings in his time. He considers himself a little bit "rusty" now but give him a shot of confidence or at least a moment and he'll be talking like he's right back to his old ways. (I'll probably talk more about the dating/romantic aspects of this man in a future dating hcs list)
𐚁 He's got a bit of a smoking/drinking problem. Smokes from time to time, but it's not always. Drinking though?? That, is more accessible to him, and he is absolutely a drinker. It used to be worse in his younger days when he was more "free" and reckless but as he's gotten older. It's gotten... A little better?? (I say this like it's a lot but actually it just translates to: you'll find him shit-faced and/or passed out in an alley a lot less, now the rarity will just be more found in his bar after closing hours). With his smoking problem, he probably has a tendency to just tell off people who hassle him about it that he's either far too deep into it now to stop, or the golden "I can stop whenever I want to"
𐚁 Montana is not by any means an insecure man about his looks. He's not overly narcissistic about it but he's at least comfortable in both appearance and his body. Doesn't stop him from being a smidgen surprised if someone openly brings up how handsome he looks.
𐚁 He likes escaping out of the city at times with nothing but a pack of beer out in the back of his truck, and a place out in the woods somewhere or just.. Somewhere far enough to get away from the city and clear his head. Sometimes he'll bring Fancy Dan or Ox along with him, sometimes he'll go alone. He mainly does it because he misses the countryside, and there's times where he might've regretted abandoning his old life as a cattle hand to go live his life dancing on the edge of a knife like this as an Enforcer... Or maybe that's the bottle talking for him.
𐚁 Not entirely all that artistic? (Look at the interior of his bar.. COUGH) Like I mentioned in my past hcs about him being at least good at origami, I'd like to think he's capable of making a few crafted pieces, but it's not entirely great. I think the closest form of art Montana might be able to do is whittling, and that's mainly because he works well with a knife. If you ask him to make you a drawing, he probably won't be as confident but given that he's also quite a bit of an observer to things. I think he'd be able to sketch and if not roughly draw something up for you that looks something like this. Also WILL NOT believe you if you tell him it looks good.
𐚁 Speaking of being an observer, he has a habit of people-watching. It kinds of ties into the fact that his main and natural role is being a strategist. Just sits back and analyzes a situation before calling the shots. I mean that as well as in... Wherever he goes, he at least ALWAYS gets a good look of the room he's in and if it's a cafe, restaurant, or some other type of establishment. He wants a spot that sort of gives him the entire layout of a room. He wants to know EVERYTHING that is happening around him in the very case that someone is following or is looking to take him out (working for the Big Man means that he's also prone to being victim to any of Big Man's enemies by association. Also undercover police or some other...). If he's also spent a long enough time at a place or around certain people, he's grown a habit of knowing people by their footsteps before they walk through the door.
𐚁 Probably has a bit of depression but he won't realize it in himself. Unless someone else starts bringing it up for him to realize it? He'll be in a bit of denial. He's trying to dig himself a rather modest/humble life but that's kind of hard when your life is being threatened at all angles. He's cautious all the time. Trusts no one. He's killed people. It's obviously done things to the man that he'd rather stuff in the back of his mind or into the bottom of a bottle. He's mentally fatigued and constantly stressed out. Doesn't show it at all but... He's tired. Always. And notably brushes it off like it's nothing. Always.
𐚁 He knows some other languages besides English, not well enough to write, and probably knows enough to speak with broken words... Which in his mind, means he can't speak it for shit either. But he DOES understand some words, he's in a job where he's been tasked in killing people of all backgrounds, meeting people from all kinds of backgrounds, and obtaining knowledge about certain people. He runs a bar, he's definitely heard a few things. I'd imagine at least one of the language he somewhat knows is Spanish, a few words here and there, a sentence or two, but don't try and start a conversation with him. He'll probably lose you at around the first five to three words. EVEN IF HE DOESN'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT SOMEONE IS SAYING, I'D LIKE TO HOPE HE'S A CRITICAL THINKER. I'D LIKE TO IMAGINE THAT HE CAN PIECE TOGETHER WHAT A FEW WORDS MEAN... Like, based on the tone and at least a couple familiar English words that sound the same.
𐚁 Pretty decent with a guitar, he probably used to be a lot better in his youth and could play a few songs, but he's gotten a bit rusty nowadays. He's too busy with everything else and doesn't really have time to pursue more "leisurely" hobbies. Probably has forgotten a few notes, but he can technically play it. That's about it.
𐚁 Not entirely the best cook per say, but he’s incredibly competent in the culinary field. I mean this as in, for a guy who SHOULD legally have a food facility health permit—along with a few other things, Montana should at least be able to know the basics (and this is probably the most random headcanon I came up but as a kid back then who had to go through a Food Protection Course in my culinary class and it was MIND BOGGLING. You bet I’m projecting onto this completely random cowboy). You can at least trust him in the kitchen not to turn it into soot and cinder. He knows how long food should stay out. He knows the FIFO method. He knows the temp for meat without looking it up. He knows food safety. You can TRUST HIM I PROMISE.
𐚁 That being said, he's a basic cook. Knows how to season his stuff (ooughhh I hc him as a bit of cajun in him ooough), and if he's making food. He's at least making good food for himself. He doesn't care how it looks sometimes, as long as it tastes good and keeps him fed. He's happy about his work. Probably knows at least one recipe (maybe gumbo)
𐚁 Probably knew how to dance once in his younger days too, maybe a swing, a waltz, or even dare I say square dancing, but nowadays. He's not prone to "making himself look like a fool," at least not without a bottle or two first so he can swallow his pride with.

► Now Playing: Lord Huron - Who Laughs Last
𐚁 Formerly, past his reputation now for what he is. I'd like to think he used to work on a ranch somewhere, whether it was for someone else or his own.
𐚁 He probably met Ox and Fancy Dan prior to the gig too that way, before the big opportunity came in working in the city. (I'd also like to think they're actually close friends and more than just coworkers)
𐚁 Speaking of that "opportunity", it was probably brought up to him first through Fancy Dan or some other big shot than him actively looking for it.
𐚁 He gives me the vibe of a man who enjoys the labor of his work, and especially the rewards so long as it keeps him afloat. Not ENTIRELY ambitious or hungry to get as much as he can whether that's power, a social reputation, or whatever. He's just happy if he gets paid, and he enjoys his work. (I can't help but giggle everytime I think abt the last reblog I got with someone saying he just wants a 401k and health insurance)
𐚁 I think about his phrase, in Probable Cause (season 2, ep. 9)
"Never did like to see a poor, dumb animal suffer..."
—a lot actually, and maybe it was just something said to sound cool but... Maybe I'd also would have liked to imagine that Montana did have an animal companion before too, a long time ago. Maybe it was his first horse or even a herding dog that belonged to the farm rather than to him that he couldn't help but bond with, even just the smallest bit. Just something other than a human that meant a lot to him that he couldn't personally handle getting tortured from an ailment too pricy to afford a cure for (at the time), or simply the effects of time passing that's worn them down. It was probably his first cruel lesson about responsibility, so he took it upon himself to put his own beasts to sleep (looking back at Old Yeller for this, that book hurt younger me like HELL), and maybe it's why he's also so adamant about the subject.
(He's a villain, of course, but I don't think it's that wrong to still remember he was human, still is sometimes.)
𐚁 While we're still riding a bit more about his past. I'd also imagine that he probably did have a family (no, duh) but, he also doesn't really feel too attached enough to his family to talk about them much. It's not to say that he didn't like his family or hate them to high hell. He just... Doesn't really talk about them much at all. It kind of gets awkward for him to talk about them when the spotlight finally hits on him, and it's not out of a place of malice. He just doesn't have a lot to talk on, no defining experiences, just... Folks that were there. He certainly looks back on a few memories a couple times but, there's only so few he can fish out to think fondly back on.
𐚁 He probably had a mother, she was there but just enough to be the simple role of a caretaker, not too doting, not too loving but just. There. She meant enough to him to drop by flowers for at least, and taught him a few rights and wrongs.
𐚁 He probably had a brother, one that he ended up causing a lot of trouble with when they were young, got into a few scraps with, and was his "other half"— in the way that they went down the same path as Montana did when they got older, just... Didn't end up as lucky as he did in this line of work.
𐚁 He probably had a dad too, but one that didn't plan on staying too long in his life. Just simply a man who taught him a few things, and someone who made his impact on Jackson more harshly than intended before disappearing altogether. Maybe that was the only form of tough love he ever got from his old man, but hey, at least some of his lessons still live on in Montana, especially the insistence on responsibilities.
𐚁 He probably still thinks of his old man as a hypocrite for leaving the family and abandoning his responsibilities. Gives him more of an incentive to carry on the words though (especially when his own blood refused to).
𐚁 Moving past all of that, he certainly picked up a lot of things in his life before becoming an Enforcer, back when he was still out as a ranch hand.
𐚁 One thing he picked up on his own is... Sewing. He's definitely learnt to patch up his own clothes a few times, and fix other cloth material. He's gotten better at handling the needle and thread as he's gotten older.
𐚁 Really good with his hands, and extremely crafty (HE MADE A WHOLE ROPE IN PRISON with his bedsheets-), whether that's making a makeshift tool, weapon, or anything else out of scrap or what-not. He is a creative individual, not so much artistic in what he makes but as long as it is efficient and works. No complaints.
𐚁 He'd actually be pretty decent at origami, given a tutorial and a few instructions or two, but don't expect anything too over the top.
𐚁 Among other things and the expansion on being "good with his hands", Montana is also very versatile and self-sufficient. He's picked up a lot of things throughout his time so he at the very least knows, basic medical aid (along with know-how on stitches), repairing/tinkering (before: it was mainly regards to vehicles, light machinery, but now it also applies to adjusting his own equipment/tech when donning the Shocker suit), a bit of cooking, fixing things, making things... And for stuff he picked up outside the city. He knows how to hunt things, preferably with a rifle, and maybe fish too. That's mostly the broader things of what he knows.
𐚁 He's a jack of all trades, master of none type of guy, but general point? Very reliable nonetheless.
𐚁 He also has this stubbornness in him that expands to certain things he has in inventory. If something is quite literally unable to be repaired, fixed, or kept together, that—is when he'll finally get something replaced. Other than that, if said object still has some fighting chance. He is going to force that thing to stay together until its dying breath.
𐚁 If it's too much work sometimes or if he’s prodded enough about it, he'll eventually just cave in and buy something to replace it (this will reflect on his personal owning of cheap furniture around his home).
𐚁 Not a huge cat guy, but he's definitely been in the company of at least one barn cat or two. Doesn’t hate them, pretty neutral about cats given that he’s both experienced the natures of how gentle and affectionate they can be—while also facing a few scratches and nicks to the hand for unintentionally pushing the boundaries (some of those scars still actually exist on his hand somewhere beneath all the rough and callousness).
𐚁 …adding on further, this guy also definitely fell for the idea that it’s a sign that it’s always okay petting a cat when its belly is exposed to you (that “okay” has now been reduced to “not at all/sometimes” in his head).

Random Personal HCs I Made Of Miguel O’Hara While Writing Smthn
pt. 1, pt. 2, pt.3
He likes pineapple on pizza. That's it.
Miguel is bisexual, or bicurious at best. I refuse to look at that man who struts, swaying his snatchable waist around, hands on his hips as anything but just the tiniest (not at all) bit zesty. He's gotta have gay thoughts once in a while.
He does that little cat yawn every once in a while, y'know? The one where they yawn and their lips curl back showin' off teeth and everything? Yeah. He does that.
Loves a good dad pun. He's had a taste of fatherhood before so I'd at least expect him to either crack one at some point (an EXTREME rarity) much less laugh at one if he finds it either clever or "stupid" (that's the excuse at least)
He keeps at least a photo frame or at least a couple few in his office, of his family like with either Gabriel (his half-brother) or Gabriella.
Whenever Miguel is out and not being Spider-man, he tends to do this thing where he just silently observes or surveys any room he's in. Whether it's at a local coffee shop he frequents, whether Peter manages to haul his ass out of the Spider-Society HQ every now and then to do something "fun" like going out drinking or just anytime he's out. He just always surveys the area silently like he's waiting for something terrible to happen (can't blame him for that though).
If someone manages to catch his gaze while he's just silently scanning a room, he might stare uncomfortably long at that person just to make them feel awkward, if he's feeling particularly like a menace.
He doesn't have an exact preference for dogs or cats, it's either he can tolerate them both or likes both. Although, he might have a higher liking for dogs though (that's just IMO).
He can ABSOLUTELY hear heartbeats (if he focuses enough with his super hearing 'n all), especially if they're beating really fast. It helps him track down certain criminals while he's in hot pursuit or trying to find someone. He can absolutely hear them through a wall too.

Random Personal HCs I Made Of Miguel O’Hara While Writing Smthn (Electric Boogaloo)
pt. 1, pt. 2, pt. 3
Turns out it's fun thinking up stuff for this guy. So have some more random stuff about Miggy, I came up with.
When he's not usually being his big bossy self at Spider-Society HQ or is just-- speaking with someone who's outside of work (ex. Him speaking to a barista or something at a local coffee shop he frequents). He tends to mumble a lot. Big man with soft voice. It's definitely a huge contrast to his usual angry, irritable, commanding gig going on. I'm also pullin' this one out from the comics? (I personally lean more to Miguel having retractable fangs but he still occasionally mumbles more frequently out of habit and/or just in case they start popping out and he doesn't realize it).
ALSO ALSO. Yeah, Miguel definitely has a certain coffee shop he likes to frequent in Nueva York.
Very picky about the way his coffee is done too oddly enough, aside from when it's the usual straight black coffee that's straight out of the coffee machine (blegh) in whatever the Spider-Society HQ equivalent of a break room is (or one of the many they have there [you cannot tell me that they don't have multiple break rooms for the bajillion amounts of Spider-variants they house there]).
He just might be an espresso guy.
Doesn't like sweet stuff that much. He's not incredibly repulsed by sugary stuff but he's not one to bother indulging in eating something like candy or ice cream as a treat for himself (he'll sure as hell tolerate it though if he's enjoying it with someone else... Maybe someone like Gabriella).
Definitely wears glasses because you cannot tell me that he can stare at those digital screens every day, all day, at such close proximity, without it at least having it affect his eyes? Not one bit??
Miguel is... Aware. That there are gay people and anybody associated with the LGBTQIA+ community. Hell, he runs an entire elite strike force organization full of Spider-variants across every dimension. There's bound to be an arm-full he'll find. But he doesn't necessarily pay too much mind to it nor will he ask on the sake of privacy and respect. He's mostly more focused on the idea of "I don't mind who you date or do in your personal life or anything else. All I know is that you're a Spider-man/women/variant and as long as you don't destroy the multiverse and just help me maintain the multiverse. I won't say anything". He knows about gay people, he knows about lesbians, he knows about trans people, a little bit about bi people, but everything else?? That's a whole thing on his own that leaves him more confused than anything. Just start throwing in other sexual or gender orientations and watch this man scrunch up in confusion when you explain them all to him. (He gives me the vibes of a supportive dad who's trying, you get me? [def an ally tho])
I'd like to think he has an insane amount of patience. Probably more than what the movie shows.
Is well aware he's attractive, isn't too overly narcisstic about his looks but has minimal amount of self-confidence at best, but it doesn't stop him from being surprised when people refer to him as anything else but "handsome" or "attractive" like "pretty", "gorgeous", or "beautiful". Those are the type of words that'll get him to turn red from his face up to the tips of his ears if you keep throwing it at him.

More Random Personal HCs I Made of Miguel O'Hara While Writing Smthn
pt. 1, pt. 2, pt. 3
Huge insomniac. He either can't sleep due to his workaholic tendencies or because of this "charming" thing called-- trauma. Nightmares and guilt have a tendency of keeping him up late at night so he usually buries himself in his work during those times too when he can't sleep (double whammy for the workaholic tendencies).
He's a "sleep late, wake up early" person. He's got a Spider Society to run so he tries to at least get to work as early as possible just in case anyone needs him or so he can get started on arranging anomaly-dealing missions and so on and on... (Probably wakes up at some stupid time like 4:30 AM just so he can tell people "You're late" because he seems like a cocky douche to do that)
I kinda see ITSV Miguel (as in the version of him in the post-credit scene) being more of a similar version to how he is in his comics. Whereas the ATSV version is probably more of a changed and more "grown" and developed person hence why he seems so serious and less "silly", shall we put it.
Miguel has this thing where (if he's alone with someone) he'll drop the wildest piece of information with someone in an argument or a really good comeback, and then go about acting like he said nothing-- like a menace. Which ensues in the "WHAT?" "what." situation and he silently eats it up. He'll do this when bantering with someone too, just to get the last word in and be all smug about it after. He has to have that last word.
He does say 'fuck' but he also says 'shock' too as a substitute, it just depends on the conditions. He'll say 'shock' when he's around any kids or teenagers (like with Gwen in ATSV when he said something about cleaning up the 'shocking mess' and the one part where I'd like to think he had to stop cursing since he started taking care of Gabriella) or even in a work environment (gotta keep that professionalism up, y'know?), but outside? Can say 'fuck' with no problem, or 'shit'. Doesn't say it all the time like a sailor but he drops one every now and then, and I can definitely see him slip up once or twice enough for people around him to be like "YOU CAN SWEAR?"
