Sometimes Tommy cries.

In the late night silence, softly tracing Evan's features while he sleeps soundly. Mind, hopefully, seemingly void of last words spoken through glass, an all too familiar bloody face, and the heart shattering screams echoing throughout a computer monitor.

However, these memories don't escape Tommy. They've lived within him for weeks. Burning him, shredding him open through painful reminders every damn day. Like the one snuggled up against him at this very moment.

He traces a finger down Evan's nose, over his cupids bow and down beneath his chin. Tommy's never known someone who can sleep so soundly and still be absolutely breathtaking. He watches Evan's chest slowly rise and fall, life coursing throughout, reminding Tommy that they still have time. They still have each other.

That's when the first tear falls. A tiny drop of love poured out for the scared little boy he used to be. A boy who could never even dream he'd be loved and accepted one day. Cherished and told that he's perfect and wanted. Not needed. But wanted. Chosen.

He could have lost Evan forever. Evan could have been the one on the other side of that glass, making the ultimate sacrifice to save a member of his family, and he would have, without question.

Tommy knows now because he would do the same.

So, at night, in the warm embrace of his boyfriend, Tommy cries.

For what is sacrifice without an act of love?

The reason I think Tommy is so good for Buck is because Tommy is the TEXTBOOK "my wife's enemies are now my enemies too" guy. Buck needs someone in his life that instantly dislikes anyone who is mean to him; and that could be 100% certified bitch Tommy Kinard. I think Buck would be amazed and also cry a little the first time it happened.
