So this next book is definitely more of a comic strip collection than anything else. Its definitely not like my last 2 books ('Timeless' & 'The Next Few Mile'), which were both poetry books.
And yet, just like the last 2, it has a similar theme.
This first book in the Lyfe Bytes collection now has a title. Very simply, it will be called 'The Evolution of Bob'. And it will be both a comedic strip book as well as a look as to the creation and growth of what has come to be a fun part of my life, and hopefully will be the same for yours as well.
Look forward to a preview of the cover art, which will be showing up soon!
Have a great day

So, there's an added bonus to being an author and blogging.
It doesnt JUST have to be about the books. Sure, that's our main focal point, and the main reason you're coming to this page is for those updates (one of which you'll get tonight). But if it was only that, youd get bored VERY quickly.
All that being said...I found out over the past few weeks that remodeling my new house wasn't the only upkeep I was going to need to work on this summer. My new yard grew CRAZY FAST. So after borrowing my neighbors semi-okay lawn mower (thanks, Chico), I decided it was time to get my own trimming solution.
Meet Buford. He's a battery powered Kobalt lawn mower, runs for 40 minutes, and is environment friendly (big plus).
Let's just hope he can keep up.
TTYL,

So, children's books. HUGE market. Even bigger possibilities. I've seen illustrations that range from highly detailed to severely abstract, stories that range from completely nonsensical to...well, honestly, too deep for a kid.
And almost every subject is covered.
Bearing that in mind, I decided to brainstorm and figure out what my direction was. Didnt take long til I landed on something I know. Lyfe Bytes and Rhyming.
Lyfe Bytes, for those who dont know, is my own personal cartoon strip. Oftentimes it reflects struggles I'm going through or the highs that happen along the way. I cant think of a better set of charachters to star in the upcoming book.
I'll let you enjoy the strip below, for now. I've got weeds to pull and writing to get done.
Talk to you soon,
Steven

Dipping your toes into the writing pool isnt always warm and relaxing; more often than not it's downright frigid. There are millions of books published every week, and a lot of them dont get very far.
Then there's the choosing what to write. What genre do you excel at, what ideas motivate you to put pen to paper? Choosing which direction to go can be rough.. and sometimes you find yourself switching paths.
That's where I am...deciding which direction to go. Poetry is great...I'm good at it. But even so, it's time to try something new.
SO: In the next few months I'll be posting thoughts and ideas related to the new direction, childrens books.
We'll see where it takes me!

Everyone has to start somewhere, right?
Good afternoon! My name is Steve Singleton, and for the moment, I am an author of poetry as well as an artist & illustrator. You can find my books at the link above. I'll be expanding with this blog in the coming days on who I am and what I do, but your greatest insights will fall within the pages of my books. I look forward to hearing what you think!
