Do you have any opinions on the Sammie x Remmick ship? Nearly all I’ve seen about it rubs me completely the wrong way but I feel like if a writer did it the write way (sticking with the characters’ actual themes instead of ignoring the movie’s message) it could be fascinating. Sorry if this is a ramble or comes off odd but I like your storytelling takes so

I don’t ship it personally. They’re both adult characters so I don’t mind whatsoever. Mary says that Sammie is “Old enough to drink now!” when she meets him at the Juke Joint and Remmick is thousands of years old (aka an unrealistic age) and not like a 50yo man.

I agree it’s important to understand the themes of the film because they are so rich and well written. But fanfiction is just for fun and as long as you aren’t harming yourself or anybody else — go for it!

So the dynamic of the main four was somewhat inspired by these horses I met on a ranch.

There were four horses, three girls and a boy. Two were sisters, the older two, and the middle one was very lively and loved to run. The youngest, the male horse, was the smallest and most AGGRESSIVE of the group. If you tried to pet the girls, he’d often hiss at you or at least stand a few feet away.

The eldest was very calm, very wise, while her quiet sister ran around her.

Overall the three eldest girls, Lucy, Leola, and Iris — the Creek, the youngest boy, are lowkey inspired by those horses.

Personality traits: Lucy is open-hearted to everyone — no matter their origin or species. Lucy is fiercely loyal toward her coven, she’s analytical, ambitious (in terms of magic, she’s determined to reach her fullest potential), and a cunning leader.

Three flaws: Lucy is possessive over “her own” aka those she has claimed as hers. This makes Lucy a very jealous, demanding, and distrusting individual. Only a select few are allowed to get close to her despite her deep desire to love and be loved by all.
