Windslar Palace Part 1: King Edmund IX's Wing
Windslar Palace, situated eighteen miles away from the city of Windenburg, has stood as a symbol of royalty for nearly six centuries. Once the favored summer retreat of the Royal Family, the palace served not merely as a seasonal residence but as the heart of the monarchy for generations. Though it no longer serves its original function, Windslar Palace remains a monument to the monarchy's legacy.
In 1755, King Edmund IX commissioned the construction of a new wing at Windslar Palace to accommodate his expanding family. The newly built addition, later known as the King Edmund IX Wing, featured a series of elegant apartments on the ground floor, designed specifically for his beloved consort, Queen Odette, and their seven children. Edmund's presence in Odette's bedchambers every night was highly unusual for the time, but a testament to their close and loving relationship with one another.
Following Edmund’s death, his son and successor, King George I, continued to reside with his mother in her apartments, but later moved out after his marriage. Queen Odette remained in these rooms until 1810, when she retired permanently to her country residence, Queen’s Lodge.
After George’s marriage to Princess Josephine of Corrilea (@theroyalsofcorrilea), the new Queen Consort took up residence in the north block of the Edmund IX Wing. She redecorated her apartments with opulence and flair, most notably adorning her drawing room with elaborate chinoiserie wallpaper. A devoted and overbearing mother, Josephine transformed that same drawing room into a bedroom to remain close to her only child, the sickly and kind Princess Margaret. Margaret spent most of her short life at Windslar Palace, and Josephine remained in her apartments until she died in 1826.
In 1817, Queen Odette’s former suite was occupied by Princess Caroline Sophie, Dowager Duchess of Rochester (@simming-in-the-rain), following the accession of her son, King George II. Caroline Sophie, regarded as ambitious and calculating, viewed her move into Odette’s apartments as a symbol of her elevated status as mother to the monarch. She redecorated much of the suite with furnishings brought from her previous residence at Hertford Castle and removed paintings of Odette. That same year, her favored sister-in-law, Princess Elizabeth, was installed in adjacent rooms.
Tragedy struck when King George II died in 1818, and was succeeded by his younger brother, King Edmund XI, who would reign briefly before he died in 1821. The crown then passed to Caroline Sophie’s daughter, Queen Mary II. Mary’s relationship with her mother had always been distant, complicated by Caroline Sophie’s preference for her sons and disapproval of Mary’s 1820 marriage to Charles Statford, 10th Earl of Statford. Upon ascending the throne, Queen Mary II ordered her mother’s eviction from Windslar Palace entirely.
Mary chose not to inhabit the Edmund IX Wing. Instead, she made her home in the apartments once occupied by Queen Sophie (formerly Princess Sophie of Dresden) in the King Joseph IV Wing. The ground-floor suites of the Edmund IX Wing were converted into guest accommodations for visiting royals and foreign dignitaries, while the upper floors became the private quarters for Mary’s eight children. These rooms, sometimes used by the Royal Family, remain largely closed to the public today.
In later years, Mary’s daughter, Princess Charlotte, was in charge of the restoration of the ground-floor apartments, returning many of Queen Odette’s original furnishings. Today, these historic rooms form part of the Windslar Palace Museum, and share a glimpse into the lives of Queen Odette and her family.

Happy Birthday, my Beautiful Boy.
Prince Lenerd (Lenerd Yannik Joachim Charles; 23 June 2023) is the heir presumptive to the Ionian Throne, as the eldest child of Queen Viviana II. If he ascends to the throne as expected, he would be Iona's second king regnant (after Everette) and the first since 1980.
Birth
The Prince was born at the Princess Alexandrina Hospital Centre in Wittmund during the reign of his mother. His birth was announced with a photo posted on The Royal Family's social media, followed by two 21-gun salutes outside Schloss Celle. He was presented as an heir to the throne on 14 August by his godparents: Emperor Napoléon V, Crown Princess Rosalind of Armorica, the Duke of Exeter, Princess Jacqueline of Marseille, and the Count and Countess Hertford. At this time he was conferred with the additional names of Yannik, Joachim, and Charles.
Upbringing
He and his mother lived at Wittmund Palace for the first months of his life. As the only elligible inheritor to the Ionian Throne, Lenerd has been in the public eye since birth. On the occasion of Viviana II's engagement to Imperial Prince Philippe of Francesim, the Royal Family took residence at Schloss Celle. Alongside their announcement, the couple shared an intimate family photograph on S, formerly known as Simmter, from early into their relationship. When he was one year old, Lenerd accompanied the couple on their official Engagement Tour across eight countries. The Prince is known informally as "Yannik," by his family, and "Lenny," in the Press.

Crown Prince David was born on this day in 1896
Mentions of War & Miscarriage
When the new King, Frederick IX (b.1873) and his teenage wife, Princess Thyra of Denmark (b.1880) welcomed their first child on the 15th of April 1896, they had been married for just over 10 months. The baby was christened David Richard Christian Harald. During his childhood, the young prince became known as Dickie. The boy would become his Grandmother, the Dowager Queen Dagmar’s favourite grandchild, even after the birth of his siblings; Mary, Charlene and Christian with her writing “my beloved Dickie is so young yet a true lion at heart.”
At eighteen, the young prince’s life would be interrupted by the First World War, following his father's decision to side with their second cousin, Wilhelm II of Germany in 1914. During the war Dickie would be stationed in Berlin as the official representative of Corrilea to the Kaiser. His mother Dagmar-whom detested her German cousins failed to compel her husband to not send him, writing to her father, Frederik VIII of Denmark, “Berlin and this war will destroy my innocent boy.” In 1917, following the Russian Revolution, Frederick IX stopped supporting Germany out of fear , but his mothers worries would not be relieved, for after the war, Dickie would return changed, no longer lively and fun, but “hardened and self-righteous”.
In 1919, Dickie would meet a young, but successful Upsanian-born French-British actress, Nicola DuGant. The prince would immediately become infatuated by the beautiful woman, and quickly began courting her, despite the disapproval of his family- this would lead to tensions within the Royal household, as the young Prince seeked to defy his father and take control of his own life. In 1923, he would propose to Nicola without his fathers permission. This caused the tensions to boil over in the autumn of that year, when Dickie brought “his Nicky” to meet his family. During a heated exchange, the Crown Prince threatened to abdicate his position, in order to marry the woman he loved, only after hearing this, did the King relent and grant his approval, likely just to stop a succession crisis from occurring. The pair were wed in the spring of 1925. Nicola was the first “commoner” to marry into the Corrilean Royal Family.
Despite the marriage's scandalous start, the pair seemed happy together and in 1927 had a son, Prince George Frederick James (later James V). The new prince's birth was traumatic for the Crown Princess lasting for almost forty hours, with major complications and scarring after the prince was finally delivered via cesarean. As a result for the next decade the couple would experience fertility issues, with Nicola having 12 miscarriages, before the birth of their daughter, Princess Madelyn in 1940.
On the 14th of June 1930, King Frederick IX passed away at 57, after contracting pneumonia. Dickie was sworn in as King moments later, choosing the regnal name Richard II, quoting “The name Richard reminds the public of Lionheart, it is powerful, manly— David reminds them of my great-grandfather, whom never got to be King”. The King's inauguration took place on the 1st of January 1931.
Dickie would oversee Corrilea during the Second World War, choosing to have the nation be a neutral state. However in 1940, Corrilea’s neutrality was breached as Nazi forces invaded the border. The Royal Family and government quickly fled to Britain and established a Government-in-exile at the Corrilean Embassy, while the Family stayed as guests of King George VI of the United Kingdom and lived at St James Palace during the war. The Corrilean Royal Family however, were not unscathed during the war, with Princess Mary’s husband – Robert Argyll, 4th Duke of Argyll and son, George, Earl of Harewood both enlisting in the British army and being killed in action in 1942 and 1943 respectively.
After the Allies took back Corrilea in 1945, the Royal Family returned to mass celebration, and the King, who had given public radio addresses to his nation throughout the duration of the war, was considered a hero, who gave the people morale and a “reason to fight” during the five year Nazi occupation.
As such, the King remained a popular symbol of nationalism and hope for the next ten years, as the nation recovered. In 1953, his son the Crown Prince George would marry his favourite goddaughter, Princess Eliazbeth of Schleswig-Wolfenbüttel-Kassel (b.1936). The Princess, while German, was born and raised in Britain, as her parents fled Germany at the beginning of the war and thus, was considered a good match.
An avid smoker all his life, Richard II would pass away in 1956, of lung cancer. His daughter Madelyn, married in 1965, nine years later to the German Royal — Ludwig III, Duke of Thena. The wedding caused controversy, with many claiming that Richard would have never supported the match as Ludwig's parents were Nazi’s during the war.

Calling Andre was as natural as breathing. Separated by six time zones, they had conducted their relationship mostly by phone.
Holding her breath, Leonor counted the rings. Four, five, six, and then straight to voicemail. Leonor hadn't really expected him to pick up, but she was still disappointed.
VOICEMAIL | ...please leave your message after the tone. BEEP! LEONOR | Andre? It's me. It's late here, but...I can't sleep. I haven't been able to sleep at all, lately...I can't stop thinking about you, can't stop worrying about you. Are you working tonight? You shouldn't be. You need to rest. Ha. Listen to me, clucking like a hen. I wish there was more I could do. I wish I could be the one taking care of you. [ sighs ] Call me when you get this, yeah? I love you. More than anything, I love you.

Sunderland's Royal Jewel Vault (57/∞) ♛
↬ Queen Irene's Stillwater Sapphire Tiara
When Lady Irene Wynn married Louis, the Prince of Danforth, in 1968, the provincial government of Lakota gifted her 18 sapphires, one representing each year of her life. The brilliant blue sapphires were sourced from the Stillwater Gulch, located in the Rocky Mountains. Ranging in colour from cornflower blue to purple, Lakota sapphires were first discovered along the Missouri River in the 1860s. Since then, the gemstones have been sported by celebrities and politicians, first ladies and royal consorts across the globe, including Irene’s contemporaries Lady Bird Johnson, Queen Sofía of Spain, and Queen Sirikit. Irene’s sapphires were displayed with her other wedding gifts at St. Mary’s Palace, but she didn’t wear them until after she became queen consort in 1970. Queen Irene commissioned a sapphire tiara from Albemarle in the spring of 1973. Despite owning a range of tiaras of diverse colours and profiles, Irene lacked a sapphire diadem, as her mother-in-law, Queen Katherine, still had ownership over the Regal Circlet, which was typically reserved for current queen consorts. The need for a sapphire tiara was a question of fashion, but also diplomacy: blue was a national colour of many foreign countries, including St. George, which was a dominion of Sunderland at the time. When Katherine refused to fork the Regal Circlet over, Irene turned to her collection of Lakota sapphires. The resulting tiara featured a dramatic floral and foliate spray set on a series of diamond fleur-de-lys motifs, hinting at the Queen’s French ancestry. Queen Irene first wore the tiara on a state visit to South Korea in 1975. The tiara made future appearances during a 1979 state visit to Sweden and a 1982 visit from French president François Mitterrand. During this time, the tiara was paired with the Herring sapphire necklace, which Irene purchased in 1974. Throughout the 1990s, he tiara became a staple at state banquets and galas from republics, notably France and the United States of America. In 1995, the tiara was worn along with Queen Alexandra’s Sapphires for Irene’s Silver Jubilee Portrait with her St. George Honours. More recent appearances of the tiara include diplomatic events with the heads of state of Kuwait (2001), Japan (2004), and Estonia (2008). The Queen last wore the tiara in 2018 for the highly publicized (and criticized) American state banquet at Chester Palace. The tiara complemented a white dress, and the Queen’s Order of Brandenburg sash: red, white, and blue. Earlier that year, Queen Katherine passed away, and the Regal Circlet finally entered Irene’s possession, although she has only worn it once since. The Stillwater sapphire tiara remains unique to Queen Irene, with no other members wearing it in an official capacity—although it was “worn” by an infant Princess Jacqueline in a 1976 portrait.

The dream lingered behind her eyelids and in her fingertips, scattered images and the ghost of sensation, faint like the scent of yesterday's cigarettes on a borrowed jacket. For a moment, he had been close enough to touch. For a moment, he had been real. The finer details of the dream had already begun to fade, and Leonor wished bitterly that she had not dreamed at all. The dream had been sweet, but the cruelty of waking was more than she bear.

author's note: I am still so proud of this one! lots of love to @nexility-sims for entrusting me with Leonor and Dan and resending the build files like 4 times.
This one was inspired by two things: 1. the love cherry motion MV and 2. this post by @hannahssimblr! thank you to both hannah and choerry for this one, wouldn't have been possible without you.
Leonor woke with a gasp. For a moment, she had no idea where she was. As the familiar shapes of her darkened bedroom came into focus, reality reasserted itself. She was in her bedroom in Nakawe. Her husband was asleep beside her. Somewhere, far away, Andre was dying.
Dan woke more gradually than Leonor had, pulled from sleep not by her absence from their bed (this was not unusual, she kept odd hours and other lovers) but by the sounds of her moving through their room, dressing in the dark.
Even before he opened his eyes, he knew she was leaving.
DAN | Leonor? LEONOR | It's alright. Go back to sleep. DAN | Where are you going? LEONOR | Canaris. Mat and Johan's. DAN | Valencia's recital-- LEONOR | She's fourteen, she doesn't need her mother there. DAN | ... DAN | ...what about the ambassador's dinner? LEONOR | Oh, I'll be back for that. [ phone chimes ] Tsk. That'll be the driver.
She was gone without a backward glance, and Dan was left with his silence.

Hello, It's Me Again, A Simple Daughter Looking to Help her Family
Yes. I know, I'm sharing out another crowd fundraiser. I know some of you may be tired of seeing them, and truth be told I'm exhausted with making them, but when it comes to potentially life-threatening situations that my family is being forced to live through, I will do all I can do help them out.
But I shall add everything below for those who do not wish to see more.
My dad has been suffering for nearly a year now, and he’s only just now been vulnerable enough to share with me just how bad his situation has gotten since he was in the hospital for congestive heart failure. He and my step family are facing financial devastation due to his being unable to work for almost a year, medical prescriptions costing more than $1000 a month, and the everyday expenses that stop for no man. To the point where they're about to lose their home, their mode of transporation, and have no finances for basic necessities.
It's hard for me to be literally halfway across the world and have no physical way to help them, but at least I can create a fundraiser to try and raise money to help him get the funds needed to at least give him and my family space to breathe.
So if you're still here and reading? Thank you, and please consider donating, however small. As I've learned, a little goes a long way. Which is why even if you're unable to donate, please help me with sharing out this fundraiser. No one should have to face financial ruin for being sick, but unfortunately, that is the story of every American, and I do not want to see my dad, who is only 54, be a victim to this massively broken system.
So please, please help me to help my family in any way I can.

Sunderland's Royal Jewel Vault (55/∞) ♛
↬ Princess Ruby's Vifte Tiara
Despite once being a prospective queen, Ruby Dewitt Claypoole never amassed a large jewelry collection like her mother and sisters-in-law. Married to the ill-fated George, Prince of Danforth in 1938, Ruby’s brief marriage was largely overshadowed by the Second World War. Despite not entering the war effort until early 1942, Sunderland had entered a period of austerity amid the global economic downturn. The dazzling receptions and state visits that dominated the royal court in previous decades had disappeared. Nonetheless, Ruby’s fiancé gifted her a small tiara in the lead up to her marriage of their wedding. A slender, fan-shaped tiara with delicate floral motifs and lozenges of yellow diamond. Ruby wore the tiara as a necklace when she accompanied Queen Anne and Princess Elizabeth to the premier of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The press reacted to Ruby enthusiastically, eliminating palace fears that she wouldn’t be accepted due to her American heritage. However, Ruby stopped visiting the cinema, becoming more invested in international affairs. Ruby and her husband took a keen interest in the war effort, and were quickly adopted as symbols against fascism. The prince and princess traveled In 1941, she broadcast to women and children evacuated to Sunderland from Europe. Ruby also trained as nurse, a practice she kept secret as Queen Anne, who was traumatized during her stint as a Red Cross nurse during World War One, did not approve. Member of Parliament Julius Sirrey believed Ruby to be more “pro-Liberal” than other members of the family. Queen Matilda-Mary once snarked that Ruby wanted to make a “communist heaven” on earth. “Dear Ruby, so bewildered and bright-eyed,” the declining queen remarked, in German. “I do love her.” George was assassinated by a member of the Sunderlandian National Socialist League in 1943. Ruby herself barely escaped death when the assassin fired a dud bullet at her. George II’s biographer described her as “the royal family’s only war widow”.
Following her husband’s murder, Ruby lived at Woodbine Castle, only venturing outside to inspect the cadets of her regiment. The princess allegedly carried a revolver in her handbag, going as far as to learn how to shoot, but agreed to give up the weapon upon the urging of the defense minister. By the time the princess returned to public duties it was 1946 and the war had ended. Her first official appearance as Princess Dowager was for the christening of her nephew, Prince Louis of Woodbine. Just twenty-six at the time of her widowhood, it was widely expected that Ruby would remarry, with some courtiers suggesting she marry Prince Michael, George’s youngest brother. However, Ruby remained unmarried and resumed royal duties with an increased enthusiasm in the 1947. She traveled extensively, representing Sunderland as “the Kings beloved daughter-in-law”. In 1949, she visited Greece and Turkey. Ruby ventured to Egypt in 1951, 1963, and 1970, having developed an “obsessive fascination” with Egyptology. By 1954, she was Colonel-in-Chief of half a dozen regiments within the Royal Navy, appointments she had been racking up since 1939. When asked is she had plans to start a family in 1958, Ruby replied “I do have a family.” As a state representative Ruby began wearing her vifte tiara again. It was appropriate for white-tie events, while also small enough to not overshadow her sister-in-law Katherine, the new Princess of Danforth and later queen consort. She wore the piece to several high profile royal events. Notably, the Wedding Ball of Louis, Prince of Danforth and Lady Irene Wynn 1968, the Enthronement of Louis V in 1970, Sunderland’s bicentenary celebrations in 1982 and countless state events between 1953 and 1997. When Ruby died in 2006, the tiara returned to the vault, although rumours that it was inherited by one of Ruby’s numerous godchildren persist to this day.
