Logging in for the first time in a long time. Do you ever feel like so much has changed, but so much is still the same? Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, I still love and support you!! Hoping this community will welcome me back with the kind of love and grace I’m not sure I deserve.
I don’t know if im a competitive runner anymore, I don’t know if im a fitness blog anymore, but im excited to find out.

Need a post-Thanksgiving dinner stretch? After a big meal, there’s nothing like adventuring outside to watch a sunset, hike, or even ski and snowshoe.
#TeamPublicLands, today’s a great day to #OptOutside! Chances are, there’s a park, wildlife refuge, or other public lands a short drive away. With varying visitors and staffing on public lands this time of year, make sure you plan ahead and prepare. We’ve got some great suggestions for places you can relax in nature. https://www.doi.gov/photos/great-places-optoutside-thanksgiving-week

G R I T-s: We shift but we don’t quit. We take the grit engrained in our hearts, the muck molded to our souls, and we transform it. Pain takes us out of our comfort zones and mutes moments in time. Sometimes for the good, sometimes not. Not everyday is filled with sunshine but that’s what brings light to this life. I wouldn’t be where I am without the muck, the pain, or the darkness. But there are 26 letters in the alphabet and I’ll be damned if I don’t use every last one of them and the infinite number of combinations available till I get back to this place where the pain of training is a choice. Because GRITS don’t quit. At least this one doesn’t. ⚡️ https://www.instagram.com/p/Bq0MyFOnHvB/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=13du47n3quyx7

I never wanted to post the past couple months, because I wasn’t fast enough to be a runblr, yet I wasn’t sick enough to ask for help. What an awful conundrum to be in for a site that promotes individualism and inclusivity.

Ended up with 12 miles this morning. I wised up and didn’t do 20. 😬 It was a little misty, but great to be running my usual spot on the parkway. 🏃🏽‍♀️

At age 23, Tina Fey was working at a YMCA. At age 23, Oprah was fired from her first reporting job.  At age 24, Stephen King was working as a janitor and living in a trailer.
At age 27, Vincent Van Gogh failed as a missionary and decided to go to art school.   At age 28, J.K. Rowling was a suicidal single parent living on welfare.
At age 28, Wayne Coyne ( from The Flaming Lips) was a fry cook. At age 30, Harrison Ford was a carpenter.  At age 30, Martha Stewart was a stockbroker.  At age 37, Ang Lee was a stay-at-home-dad working odd jobs. Julia Child released her first cookbook at age 39, and got her own cooking show at age 51. Vera Wang failed to make the Olympic figure skating team, didn’t get the Editor-in-Chief position at Vogue, and designed her first dress at age 40. Stan Lee didn’t release his first big comic book until he was 40. Alan Rickman gave up his graphic design career to pursue acting at age 42. Samuel L. Jackson didn’t get his first movie role until he was 46.
Morgan Freeman landed his first movie role at age 52. Kathryn Bigelow only reached international success when she made The Hurt Locker at age 57. Grandma Moses didn’t begin her painting career until age 76. Louise Bourgeois didn’t become a famous artist until she was 78. Whatever your dream is, it is not too late to achieve it. You aren’t a failure because you haven’t found fame and fortune by the age of 21. Hell, it’s okay if you don’t even know what your dream is yet. Even if you’re flipping burgers, waiting tables or answering phones today, you never know where you’ll end up tomorrow. Never tell yourself you’re too old to make it.
Never tell yourself you missed your chance.
Never tell yourself that you aren’t good enough.
You can do it. Whatever it is.
