G R I T-s: We shift but we don’t quit. We take the grit engrained in our hearts, the muck molded to our souls, and we transform it. Pain takes us out of our comfort zones and mutes moments in time. Sometimes for the good, sometimes not. Not everyday is filled with sunshine but that’s what brings light to this life. I wouldn’t be where I am without the muck, the pain, or the darkness. But there are 26 letters in the alphabet and I’ll be damned if I don’t use every last one of them and the infinite number of combinations available till I get back to this place where the pain of training is a choice. I never wanted to post the past couple months, because I wasn’t fast enough to be a runblr, yet I wasn’t sick enough to ask for help. What an awful conundrum to be in for a site that promotes individualism and inclusivity.

Ended up with 12 miles this morning. I wised up and didn’t do 20. 😬 It was a little misty, but great to be running my usual spot on the parkway. 🏃🏽‍♀️

Grandma Moses didn’t begin her painting career until age 76. Louise Bourgeois didn’t become a famous artist until she was 78. Whatever your dream is, it is not too late to achieve it. You aren’t a failure because you haven’t found fame and fortune by the age of 21. Hell, it’s okay if you don’t even know what your dream is yet. Even if you’re flipping burgers, waiting tables or answering phones today, you never know where you’ll end up tomorrow. Never tell yourself you’re too old to make it. 

Never tell yourself you missed your chance. 

Never tell yourself that you aren’t good enough. 

You can do it. Whatever it is.
