It's so crazy how "Don't feed the trolls" was like the Motto of the internet & in forum culture of the 00s and early 10s and now you log onto a certain website and it's just an endless sea of people pouring gruel into the troll trough day in day out and no one seems to realize or care that their internet experience being a constant deluge of misery and bad faith discussion might in fact be their own fault

Really hate the sentiment popular amongst younger US progressives that the older generations “let us down.” The baby boomers didn’t “sell out” in any meaningful capacity; a lot of them tried really hard to revolt, and we are living in a world largely shaped by the people who put down those revolutionary movements. Rather than saying that we were let down, we should be looking at how exactly the revolutionary movements of past generations failed, so that we can build effectively on their legacy.

i feel like it's absolutely crucial in the social justice world to take "he a little confused but he got the spirit" and similar sentiments/situations as a Win. intent is so much more important than saying it right the first time! if someone is approaching with scuffed language and incorrect terms but they're visibly being as polite as they know how, that person is a friend and should be treated better than what their words might invite in someone else's mouth.

Literally sobbing. A judge, a US judge defended us. A judge brought up intersex people, uaing the term intersex, to *defend* us by not allowing our erasure. I'm having a lot of feelings right now
