TRACK SEVEN;
KILLER QUEEN
Sunlight streamed through the gap in the curtain directly onto Y/N’s face. Blinking awake, Y/N looked around confused about her surroundings. Looking down she noticed that her body was covered in nothing but a sheet. Y/N looked to her left and saw a figure laying there, facing away from her.
Y/N groaned, “Eddie, Eddie wake up.”
Eddie mumbled something that Y/N didn’t understand.
“Wake up.” Y/N says, nudging him.
Opening his eyes, Eddie sighed at the light. He turned his head to face Y/N. The two looked at each other, not knowing what to say.
“So,” Y/N says, breaking the awkward silence, “That happened.”
“Yes it did.” Eddie says.
The two fell into silence once again. Y/N didn’t know what to think, she had slept with one of her closest friends. Turning to lay on her back, Y/N faced the ceiling.
“Just so we’re both on the same page, that was a one time thing right?” Y/N questioned, turning her head to look at Eddie.
Eddie let out a sigh of relief, “Yeah, we’re on the same page.”
“Good,” Y/N said, “Because I was worried that this would make things really awkward.”
Eddie laughs, “No, what will make things awkward is if everyone else knows, I can only imagine what they’d say.”
“It would be relentless teasing,” Y/N says, “Especially from Warren.”
“Especially from Warren.” Eddie repeats with a chuckle.
“You know you said that you would never lie to me again?” Y/N says, “Can you promise me something?”
“Why?” Eddie says, suddenly defensive.
Y/N laughed, “Just answer the question.”
“Depends what the promise is.” Eddie says.
Y/N smirked, “Promise not to fall in love with me, I’ve already got men lining up, I don’t need another.”
“You flatter yourself too much,” Eddie says, “There’s no chance of me falling in love with you, it’ll fuel your ego too much. I can promise you that.”
“Ego? You want to talk to me about ego?” Y/N says with a laugh.
Eddie didn’t reply, he only laughed along with Y/N. The two layed there a moment longer before Y/N turned to Eddie, leaning forward to press a kiss to his cheek.
“What was that for?” Eddie asks, a smile spreading across his face.
“For still being friends after this and that there’s no awkwardness between us,” Y/N says, “Now, we should be getting back to the house, the others are probably wondering how our nights went.”
***
As Y/N and Eddie entered the house, Graham, Karen and Warren sat around the kitchen table eating breakfast. When Y/N entered the room, she tried her best to sneak past everyone, but she failed miserably.
“Guess who had a good night last night.” Warren teased.
Y/N stopped in her tracks, turning to face the three sitting at the table. Rolling her eyes, Y/N completely abandoned trying to sneak past, joining the three at the table. Walking in not too far behind her was Eddie, everyone’s attention turned to him.
“And where did you wander off last night?” Warren asked Eddie, who sat in a chair opposite Y/N.
Eddie’s eyes widened slightly, his brain not thinking of an excuse quick enough.
“It was funny, after I exited the room I was in, I bumped into Eddie leaving, he definitely had a good night, his hair was sticking up everywhere and he had this stupid smile on his face.” Y/N teased.
Eddie looked at her from across the table, the corner of his lips, threatening to rise up.
“And how was your night?” Graham said, joining in the teasing, “Because the last I heard, Y/N, you were looking at every guy at that party like you were going to eat them alive.”
Y/N chuckled, “I had a great night, he definitely knows how to use his hands.” From across the table, Eddie hid a smile in his drink.
“And how was your night Eddie, how was the lucky girl?” Karen questioned.
“She was alright, nothing too special.” Eddie says, looking directly at Y/N, a glint in his eye.
Y/N rolled her eyes as a small smile creeped onto her face, glad that there was no awkwardness between the two and they could joke about it.
WARREN ROJAS: It was a confusing time, for everyone.
Having nothing to do with her day, Y/N decided to sit with the band while they auditioned a new front man, she regretted that decision very quickly. Y/N watched as front man after front man stood at the microphone and sang their heart out, her ears were screaming.
As the final person stood at the microphone and began to sing, Y/N tried to stifle her laughter. Turning into Warren’s shoulder she continued to laugh, which caused Warren to laugh and ended up creating a domino effect of everyone trying to contain their laughter.
When everyone had calmed down and the man was long gone, Warren turned to Y/N, “Well, welcome to the band Y/N, you’re our new front woman!”
Y/N let out a snort, “Yeah, I love you all but absolutely not.”
Karen let out a sigh, “I feel like we’ve seen every bloody front man in the whole of California.”
“Not everyone.” Eddie says. One by one, everyone turned to face him.
“What?” Warren says.
“I can do it, guys.” Eddie says.
“Yeah, Eddie…” Graham started but was cut off instantly.
“I can do it. I’m a better guitarist than Billy, I can sing almost as good,” Eddie began listing off things, “Come on, just give me a chance.”
“I mean, he’s already up there.” Warren says.
Eddie picks up a guitar and begins to sing. Everyone around the group begins to nod, pleasantly surprised with what they were listening to. Y/N, however, watched with shock, she had never heard Eddie sing before and she didn’t even know he could sing. When Eddie sang the final words, he opened his eyes and made eye contact with Y/N, who looked at him like he hung the stars. Eddie smiled.
While everyone went off to do what they wanted, Y/N dragged Eddie all the way to his room. He looked surprised at her urgency. He sat down on his bed while she stood in front of him.
“You can sing?” Y/N questioned, “Since when?”
“Since always.” Eddie replied.
“Why did you never tell me!” Y/N exclaimed.
“You never asked.”
“Your voice…”
“What about it?” Eddie asked, suddenly feeling anxious of Y/N’s opinion.
“It’s beautiful,” Y/N says, “I don’t know but there’s this specific kind of rasp to it which I love.”
Eddie smiles, eyes looking down for a brief moment before he makes eye contact again.
“That doesn’t seem like you though, not telling me you can sing,” Y/N says, “You always want to one up Billy, so being able to sing, play guitar and play bass, I’m pretty sure you’ve one upped him.”
Eddie laughed, while Y/N continued to pace, “I can’t believe you can sing.”
“Believe it,” Eddie says, “Because I’m pretty confident that I’m the new front man of The Six.”
Y/N sighed before sitting down, “You really think Billy is done completely?”
“Sure,” Eddie says, “He seemed pretty adamant on it.”
“I don’t particularly like the guy but I don’t really see him giving up on the band.” Y/N says.
“Well he has, okay?” Eddie says, quite forcefully.
“Wow, okay,” Y/N says, standing up, “I was only stating my opinion Eddie, there’s no need to snap at me for it.”
“Y/N, I didn’t mean-”
“I know, Eddie,” Y/N says, “You don’t like Billy, neither do I, but you don’t have to jump down everyone’s throats at the simple mention of his name.”
“Y/N, I’m sorry,” Eddie says, rising to his feet, taking her hand gently in his, “I didn’t mean to snap at you like that.”
“Eddie, it’s okay-”
“No, Y/N, I shouldn’t have done that,” Eddie says, his hand coming up to lightly cup her cheek, “I’m sorry, forgive me?”
Y/N gave him a small smile, “I forgive you.”
The two stood there a moment longer, Eddie still cupping her cheek and holding onto her hand. A few more seconds went by before the two realised the position they were in. Clearing his throat, Eddie stepped back while Y/N took her hand out of his, folding her arms across her chest.
“I should get going,” Y/N says, “I’ve got a lot of things to work on.” She lied, “I’ll see you later.” Y/N slipped out of the room without another word, leaving Eddie alone.
Standing and staring at the door where Y/N had left, Eddie shook his head and sighed.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: I tried really hard to keep the promise I made, but it got harder and harder and I didn’t want to lie to her but I did.

part four (part one, part two, part three)
pairing: eddie rountree x fem!oc (may change to x reader) warnings: drinking/drugs (billy/daisy's addictions), profanity word count: 1.1k author's note: please bear with me in this, if there's a few time mix ups just with the order of things, please do let me know but i'm trying to find an equal balance between the book and show and it's a little difficult lol this is also a wee bit shorter than the other parts, my apologies, that issue will be fixed in the next part lol

Juliet pushed open the heavy metal doors of the fire escape staircase, there was a group of people waiting for the elevator, and based on the rich smell of weed that made the a around them thick, along with the incessant giggling, she had decided that an elevator ride with them wouldn’t be the most enjoyable of experiences, so she resorted to the stairs.
Once she had made it up to Eddie’s floor, she stepped into the hallway, peering at the closest room number to get some sense of where she had ended up in comparison to his room. She swung her arm around the corner of one of the walls, turning left into a dead end, where Eddie’s hotel room door stood, undisturbed.
“Hey,” she smiled, pulling open the door to see him lying down, half on the bed and staring up at the ceiling, “Damn, you good? Need me to call someone? I’m sure Billy would be happy to trek on up here and save your ass, it could give him the ego boost he so desperately needs.”
She slid down next to him on the bed, her legs hanging down onto the floor, and leaned back to line her body up with his. He turned to face his head to her and leaned against her, his head resting on her chest.
“I don’t know,” he sighed, “But don’t you dare bring him up here,” his laugh was firm and she could tell he wasn’t kidding.
“What did he do this time?” She brought her left hand up, tangling her fingers into his hair and running them through it as he spoke.
“He recorded a ton of my playing on the album,” she halted her movements in shock, “he told me after the show tonight, wanted to rub it in, I don’t really know.”
He shook his head and then pulled himself up to lean against the headboard, pulling her up with him and resting her head against his shoulder. She apologized, sharing her distaste for Billy at the moment before the two fell into a comfortable silence.
“You played really well tonight, sometimes when you play you make me wish I spent more time getting Billy to like me, maybe I could’ve taken your job.” He exhaled a small laugh.
“If any of our interactions over the past couple of years signify anything, I’d say that my spot in the band is about as permanent as any of those groupies’ downstairs relationships, so please don’t go trying to steal my place because I can guarantee you will be successful.” She giggled, the light buzz from the few drinks she had downstairs starting to kick in.
“You’ll never believe the dickhead I met tonight,” she started, “He practically admitted he had no interest in the band before tonight then asked for my number.” He laughed and put his arm around her, pulling her closer to his side.
“Oh, yeah? Clearly, someone never taught that guy proper concert etiquette,” she nearly snorted his response.
“I missed you tonight,” she mumbled, “I didn’t have anyone to play boyfriend when guys started getting creepy.”
“Hm, is that all I’m good for? Playing boyfriend?”
“Mhm, I’m glad you get it,” she turned her head into his chest and sighed against him.
“Why’d you leave early? That’s unlike you.”
“Well it was getting late, all the remotely interesting new people started leaving and the only remotely interesting old person I knew was up here rotting in his hotel room,” she propped herself up again, “Warren had me freaked that you brought someone up here with you, thought I was gonna walk into another Billy situation. Seeing one of my bandmates getting blown is something I can deal with, but if I see another I might just have to quit the band.”
“Would that be a bad thing?”
“Would what be a bad thing?” She asked, turning to look at him.
“If I had brought a girl up here with me,” he avoided looking her in the eye, “Would you, would you not like that?”
Juliet could feel her heartbeat start to quicken, a knot in her stomach forming as she thought of any way to play off her response as a joke. She was broken out of her daze by Eddie sighing and pulling the crook of her neck against his head.
“Don’t leave me hanging like that, Julie. Please,” his voice was quiet.
“What do you want me to say?” She looked down at her lap, avoiding him.
“Anything. Say yes, say no. Tell me to go fuck myself, tell me you hate me, tell me you don’t.”
She contemplated for a minute, swallowing the lump of words that was dying to be let out of her throat. She took a sigh, closing her eyes before turning to face him. His head was angled towards her, but his eyes looked anywhere but her face. She licked her lips, lifted her body with her arms pressed against the mattress, and angled her body towards his. She lifted her right hand from the bed, placing it against the side of his face, gaining his attention one last time.
“Yes,” she mumbled, leaning in and pulling his face towards her own, finally meeting their lips together.
His reaction was instinctive, immediately leaning towards her, climbing on top of her, and pulling her off of the headboard. His hands went to both sides of her face, pulling her closer as he took her onto his lap. Her hands tangled around his neck, her fingers played with the ends of his hair, and she wrapped her legs around him as he continued to kiss her.
After a few moments, he pulled away, panting for breath. He leaned his forehead against hers and licked his lips as he caught his breath. His hands tangled around her waist, moving down to hold her hips.
Ignoring her better judgment, she looked up at him and made direct eye contact, admiring his brown eyes. She was the first one to break the silence.
“Yes,” she repeated, “It would’ve been a bad thing.”
A smile overtook his lips as he leaned down to kiss her neck, trailing up to her jaw.
“I guess it’s a good thing I didn’t then, hm?”

JOSEPH FRANKLIN (biographer, author of Juliet Opal: One of Six): It was during this tour that people started noticing Juliet. She wasn’t hidden on the back of the stage anymore, she sang a few songs alongside Billy, people really started liking her.
ROD REYES: I wanted Juliet to be more of a frontman than she was when I first saw the band, if you have some college girls going out to see music and have to pick between two bands they don’t know, nine times out of ten they’re picking the band with the girl in it solely because they’re doing something new. I wanted Karen more in the front too, but she didn’t like it, Juliet fit the role more.
JULIET OPAL: Billy had me backing him on more songs and he added random lines for certain ones for me to sing alone, a lot of them were randomly added and kinda skewed the message of the songs, but he wasn’t willing to give up any of his lines, so I took what I could get. He had me sing a decent amount in Susie-Q, something about trying to get in the female perspective, I don’t know. All I know is that I hated that goddamn song.
The band was on tour for a few weeks before things got bad, Billy started picking up drinking as a go-to habit. He started disappearing with groupies after shows, Juliet tried her best to dismiss it, he would always turn up before things got serious and she never expected him to do anything that would hurt Camila. It wasn’t until when one night on the phone Camila told her that Billy had kept forgetting to call her that she started to get worried.
After finishing a show in Houston, Juliet wandered up to the floor of the hotel where the band was staying and searched through the rooms of each member in search of Eddie. There had been a series of people invited back to various groups of parties by the band, but most of it had died out by then and people had returned to their rooms, some with their respected partners for the night. When she raised her hand to knock on one of the doors, she heard a bit of commotion from inside the room across the hall. She stopped her motion, assuming that the noise was either Eddie or someone who would know where he was, she turned and made her way over to the door, twisting the handle and pulling it open.
JULIET OPAL: I found Billy in a rather.. uncomfortable situation.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing,” She made her way across the room, throwing clothes at the few girls spread littered the room. As his guests piled out the door and took their things with then, Juliet approached Billy, who was slumped across one of the white blanketed beds, and slapped him across the face, grabbing him by his collar in an attempt to wipe him out of his drunk stupor, “You have some fucking nerve, cheating on your pregnant wife, cheating on Camila!”
She let go of his collar, pushing him against the headboard of the bed, before storming out of the room to find Eddie and Graham in the hallway, having heard the commotion.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Graham questioned, stepping in front of her and holding up a hand to stop her from going any farther.
“Have you two been covering for him?” She asked, more demanded than asked, and shoved him away from her.
“Julie, listen-”
“Don’t fucking talk to me like that, Eddie! How dare you? You knew and you said nothing,” tears started welling up in the corners of her eyes as her voice stuttered, “Camila is back at home, depressed that her husband isn’t putting in the effort to pick up the fucking phone, and I’m sitting over here promising her that everything is fine, he’s just busy, and you’re just letting him do this? I pity the poor fucking woman who you end up with, having a husband who thinks doing that is okay.”
She stormed off down the hall, closing her hotel room door and locking it before throwing herself onto the bed, collecting herself before making her next move. After a few minutes of collecting herself, she stood up and approached the phone on the nightstand on the opposite side of the room. Nervously, she tangled her fingers in the cord while dialing the number of their house in Topanga Canyon.
“Hey, Cami?” She did her best to not sound like she had been crying when she spoke next, doing her best to paint a smile on her face that she hoped would sound through the phone, “I really think you should come out and spend a while out here with us. I-”
“Is everything okay, Julie?” That was it, she broke.
“No,” she spoke, clutching the phone cord in her left hand, “You need to get out here, as soon as humanly possible.”
JULIET OPAL: She flew out the next morning and met us before we left for our next stop.
The Six crowded into their van as they left for the next city on their stop. A heavy silence coated the air, Warren could’ve cut the tension with a swing one of his drumsticks. Eddie and Juliet were leaning against the back doors of the van, distant from the rest of the group who was at the front of the trunk, leaning into the front seat to try to create conversation.
“I’m still mad at you, y’know,” Juliet muttered, pursing her lips and staring out the window on the opposite door in an attempt to avoid eye contact with him.
“I know you are,” he put his arm around her, pulling her in closer and leaning her head against his shoulder, “I hope a piece of you understands where I was coming from not telling you.”
“I don’t, don’t think I ever will,” she licked her lips, “Unfortunately, given our circumstances, I don’t think it’s possible for me to stay mad at you much longer.”
“Oh, yeah?” A smile pulled across his face, turning to look at her as she still avoided his face, “How much longer are you thinking? Maybe through our next show?”
“I was thinking more until the next gas stop,” she smirked, “but if you prefer I wait until then..”
“No,” he cut her off, letting a breathy laugh slip, “until our next gas stop works fine for me.”
“Well in that case,” she readjusted herself against him, leaning more into his shoulder, “Wake me up once we’re back on the road.”
She closed her eyes and folded her arms as her head rested against him. He laughed and pressed a kiss into the hair on the top of her head, before moving his arm from her shoulders to around her waist and pulling her closer into him.
Soundcheck started at four that night, meaning that Juliet and Warren made their way inside at 3:45, never later, never earlier. The same routine, the only difference this time was that Eddie walked in alongside them, his arm looped around Juliet’s shoulders, leaning against her for support as they stumbled their way onto the stage, preparing to spend the next fifteen minutes messing around onstage.
Post-show, the band spread themselves throughout the bar in their hotel lobby, deciding who to invite to their actual party once the forced socializing was done. Juliet had herself leaned against a barstool, where she was chatting amicably with a young girl who went to school a few blocks from the venue and had heard about the band from her roommate.
“It’s good to know we’re actually expanding our audience, I’m sick of the same pervert guys who only come for a chance to get a peek at Karen or I in the bathroom,” Juliet leaned in and whispered, avoiding the listening ears of the group of college guys huddled around the pair, engaged in their own fake conversations. The girl, who had introduced herself as Susan, snorted in response, nearly spitting out her drink.
“I really don’t think you’ll like it if I tell you that my roommate heard about your band from her ex-boyfriend,” she laughed.
“Oh, you’re so right, I really do not like that,” she sighed, shaking her head as she laughed, “Whatever, all publicity is good publicity,” she raised her glass to Susan’s.
“Listen, I know this is kinda far shot,” Susan started, finishing her drink before sliding her coat on, “but I really have to get back to my room, but I like you. It’s so hard to find actual good friends and I know you’re like on your way to being a rockstar or whatever,” Juliet playfully rolled her eyes at the comment, “but could I maybe get the number for your house back home? Maybe next time you’re around here, I can come see you again?”
“Yeah, totally,” she scribbled out the number on the receipt the bartender had brought by when he saw Susan put on her coat and handed it to her, “I make no promises on when we’ll actually get back, but my friend, Camila, will be there so she can keep you as updated as possible and take a message if it’s really important.”
Susan said her final goodbyes and hunted down her roommate before leaving the bar, waving a final goodbye to Juliet as she did so. Juliet then made her way across the bar, hunting for anyone she knew who she could continue talking to.
“Hey,” a man stopped her in her efforts, handing out an opened beer for her to take, which she waved off and shook her head at, “you’re the girl who was singing up there right? You had the guitar, too?”
“Oh, yeah,” she extended her hand to him, smiling a bit, “I’m Juliet.”
“David,” he shook her hand, smiling down at her, “you were good up there. You guys have any more gigs lined up?”
“Yeah, we have a ton more shows, we’re in the middle of a tour right now, some fan you are,” she rolled her eyes, smiling at him as he laughed at her teasing.
“I must admit this is my first time hearing of you guys, but you’re good, hopefully it won’t be the last,” he smirked down at her.
“I mean, I can get you a copy of our tour schedule,” she laughed at his flirting, “you should be expecting to make a drive.”
“It might be easier if I just gave you my phone number? You could give me a call and let me know when I could come see you again.”
“That would be easier, wouldn’t it? I’ve never been into easy though,” she smirked, winking at him and brushing his shoulder as she slid past him and back into the crowd.
“What’d that guy want?” Warren asked, as she slid next to him on a leather couch in the corner of the room, he put his arm around her, briefly turning his attention away from the crowd of girls surrounding him.
“To fuck me,” she said bluntly, “luckily for me, I’m better at reading people than he thought. Have you seen Eddie?”
“Yeah, he went upstairs.”
“Like, with someone?” She asked, seemingly surprised by his response.
“Nah, just said he had a headache,” she settled back down and Warren raised an eyebrow at her, “Why? You’d be jealous if he had?”
“What? No,” she seemed surprised that he would even ask, “We’re not together.”
“Mhm,” he muttered, “to both of your dismay,” he turned away from her, placing his attention back on the girls that were swooning over him right next to their conversation.
“Whatever,” she muttered, standing back up and braving the crowd, to go find Eddie upstairs and talk to him about her night.

TRACK SIX;
SLEEPING WITH A FRIEND
FELICITY FLETCHER: When Billy went to rehab and the tour was cancelled, everyone else came home. And tensions were high.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: Felicity still wasn’t speaking to me, she wasn’t really speaking to anyone.
FELICITY FLETCHER: Around the time they came back, I was constantly at meetings with Teddy, I barely saw them in the first couple weeks.
“Was that one good?” Felicity asked.
Teddy chuckled, “The one before was perfect.”
Felicity smiled, “I just want it to be perfect.”
“And it already is,” Teddy says, “Want to have a listen?”
Felicity sat next to Teddy as she listened to her song back. Everything felt so surreal to her, she felt like she would wake up at any second and she had imagined all of it.
“It sounds great!” Felicity says, excitement coursing through her veins.
Teddy smiled at the girl’s excitement, knowing how much this meant to her.
“If everything goes well, you might be hearing it on the radio soon.” Teddy commented.
“Shut up!” Felicity says.
“No, I’m serious.” Teddy says.
TEDDY PRICE (1982, Merv Griffin Show): I’d never produced anyone like Felicity. She was always so easy going and easy to work with, she knew what she wanted and we worked with that. Her music had a unique sound, whenever a Felicity Fletcher song comes on the radio, you know it’s a Felicity Fletcher song.
As Felicity got home she was elated and nothing could put a damper on her mood. As soon as she stepped into the kitchen everyone could tell that Felicity had had a good day.
“How did the recording with Teddy go?” Graham asked.
“Fucking amazing!” Felicity exclaimed.
Soon enough, everyone went off to do their own thing but Karen approached Felicity wth a bottle of wine in her hand.
“We need to celebrate and catch up.” Karen says.
Felicity grinned
***
“I don’t know how I lived without you on tour,” Karen says, “I needed a break from the boys.”
Felicity laughed, taking a swig of the wine, “I don’t know how you did it either.”
“How’s Camila been?” Karen asked suddenly.
Felicity sighed, “She’s been okay, I know that everything has affected her but she’s not letting it show, all her focus has been on Julia.”
“She’s the sweetest kid I’ve ever seen.” Karen says.
“I know!” Felicity says, “When I have kids eventually, I definitely want a kid as cute as Julia or I don’t want a kid at all.”
Karen laughed, “Kids aren’t on by bucket list but I get what you mean.”
Music played softly throughout Felicity and Karen’s bedroom as they fell into silence, the bottle of wine being passed between the two. Ever since Camila gave birth to Julia, her focus had shifted to her daughter causing her to spend less time with Felicity. Of course Felicity still hung around with Camila and Julia, in fact Felicity could barely stay away. However, right now, Felicity was glad to spend some time with Karen.
The only issue was the days she would spend all day in the studio and come home late and Camila and Julia were asleep or when Felicity wasn’t doing anything, Camila was busy taking care of Julia. The two hadn’t had a chance to sit down and relax and talk about whatever like they used to.
As Karen took another sip of the wine, Eddie appeared in the doorway. Neither Felicity nor Karen noticed him at first as the two continued to laugh about something Karen had said.
“Felicity, can we talk?” Eddie asked, standing in the doorway.
Felicity sat up from her position and stared directly at Eddie, her smile faltering. Karen looked between the two of them and excused herself, not wanting to be caught in the tension, taking the wine with her.
Felicity sighed, “Eddie, there’s nothing to talk about.”
“Yes there is,” Eddie says, stepping into the room and closing the door, “You’ve been avoiding me for weeks.”
“I have not, I’ve been at work, recording.” Felicity says.
“And the days you aren’t? You spend most of your time with Camila and Julia or with Warren, Karen and Graham, you haven’t spoken to me since I got back.”
“Maybe I just don’t want to, has that crossed your mind?” Felicity questioned.
“Why?” Eddie asked, desperate for an answer.
“You know exactly why Eddie, I know that Camila has forgiven you and everyone else but I saw the way she was when we came back home, she was a mess Eddie,” Felicity says, “And the reason I am so angry with you specifically is because you lied to me when I asked if anything was going on outright and you love Camila and you still let her go through that pain. You don’t even like Billy! There was no reason for you to protect him.”
Eddie remained silent, he didn’t say anything.
“If you don’t have anything else to say Eddie, then please leave.” Felicity says.
“I’m sorry, Felicity,” Eddie apologises, stepping over to her and sitting down next to her, “I really am, I fucked up and I know I did. I should have told you, I should have told Camila and I regret not doing that.” Eddie paused, “To be honest I just miss talking to you, I miss listening to your songs and stupid lyrics when you can’t figure out the next line. I miss you Felicity and I want us to be okay again.”
Felicity turned to look at Eddie, she missed him as well but the anger she had was a stronger emotion.
“Please,” Eddie pleaded, looking deep into Felicity’s eyes, “I can’t stand it that you’re not talking to me.”
Felicity’s eyes softened, she had never seen Eddie look so desperate, “I will forgive you on one condition, never lie to me again.”
“I won’t, I promise you that.” Eddie says, quickly.
There was a moment of silence before Felicity gave Eddie a small smile, “I forgive you, but you better hold up your side of the promise Roundtree.”
All Eddie did in response was pull Felicity forward and wrapped his arms around her, both of them falling back onto the bed, a comfortable silence between them.
***
A few weeks later, Billy was set to return home and Felicity didn’t know how to feel about it, all she knew was that she needed to remain civil. As Felicity sat at the kitchen table, a book open in front of her while she ate her breakfast in a peaceful silence.
Footsteps echoed on the wooden floor, interrupting Felicity from her book. Looking up she made eye contact with Billy. She didn’t smile.
“Felicity,” Billy says in a greeting, “How are you?”
“I’m good.” Felicity answered, closing her book.
“Congratulations on the recording by the way,” Billy says, avoiding eye contact, “Graham told me about it
“Thank you.” Felicity says.
Billy gave Felicity a tight lipped smile before walking away, leaving her on her own once again.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: The label dropped up a week after the tour was cancelled.
WARREN ROJAS: They made us pay back our advance and everything.
GRAHAM DUNNE: I kept us practising as much as I could and got a job at a bodyshop.
WARREN ROJAS: Yeah, I was working down at Malibu Harbor cleaning boats, which I loved, and, uh, and doing a lot of mushrooms, which I also loved,
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: Basically we were back where we started, worse even.
INTERVIEWER: Are you still upset about it?
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: Me? Nah. I mean holding onto that shit will be the death of you. But he really fucked us over.
FELICITY FLETCHER: With everyone out of the house working, I had a lot more space and time to work on my own music. The living room was empty almost all the time so I designated that room my writing room. [laughs] I’m not sure everyone appreciated all the balls of paper thrown everywhere though.
“Who the fuck do you think you are man?” Eddie spat.
Felicity rubbed her brow, looking around the group. Billy standing up in front of the band saying that he was done, Eddie was pissed off, meanwhile Karen, Graham and Warren all tried to diffuse the situation. Felicity watched from the sidelines, not wanting to be involved but somehow the argument started while she was in the middle of writing.
“Look, everybody just calm down, okay?” Graham says.
“Oh, for fuck’s sake, I can’t be the only one who’s pissed here.” Eddie says.
“I don’t know what else you want me to say, you guys don’t even need me. You have the songs, you got the fan base. I mean, I’m sure if you just-”
“Billy!” Eddie shouted, “If you’re going, go.”
Billy paused for a moment before nodding and walking out of the room, leaving everyone in silence.
“So now what do we do?” Warren asked.
KAREN SIRKO: I mean bands fall apart, that’s rock’n’roll. I just…thought this one was different.
Everyone dispersed one by one, leaving just Felicity and Eddie in the room.
“Hey,” Felicity says, catching the attention of Eddie, “Everything will work out.”
Eddie looked at Felicity and the look on her face made him believe it.
***
Sighing, Felicity dropped down in a seat next to Warren, immediately ordering another drink.
“Back so soon?” Warren questioned.
“He was so unbelievably sexist it should have been a joke,” Felicity says, taking a large swig of her drink, “First he wouldn’t stop talking about himself leaving me standing there with a fake smile plastered across my face, then when I finally managed to talk about myself and what I do he stated that women are not cut out to be in the music industry and that I should just become a housewife. Fucking dickhead,” Finishing off her drink and immediately ordering another Felicity sighed, “Where are all the good men around here?
“You’re sitting next to one.” Warren says, leaning closer to Felicity.
Felicity chuckled, placing a kiss on his cheek, “Sorry, Warren but the answer is still no.”
“Ah, worth a shot.” Warren says, leaning back in his seat.
“What about him over there?” Warren questioned.
Felicity followed his gaze, “Nah, you can just tell that he’s boring, I mean he’s standing there like he doesn’t know what he’s doing. He looks like my old math teacher.”
“You are picky,” Warren joked, “Remember if you just wanna get laid, I’m right here.”
“Keep dreaming,” Felicity says, her eyes scanning over the crowd once again, “He looks nice.”
Warren followed her gaze, “Him? Really? I thought you had standards.”
Felicity scoffed, “I do have standards and he’s quite attractive.
Felicity and Warren continued to watch the man from afar. Just as Felicity stood to go and talk to him his hand raised to his nose as he began to pick it.
“Maybe not,” Felicity says, sitting back down, “Why are men so gross?”
Looking around once more Warren scanned over the crowd, “By the pool? The guy and the girl.”
“They both look too into each other to give me the time of day.” Felicity says.
Taking another sip from her drink, Felicity noticed a girl standing not too far away, eyes set on Warren. Once she notices that Felicity had seen her, she averted her gaze.
“There’s a girl staring at you,” Felicity says.
“Where?” Warren asked, looking around.
Felicity hit his arm, “Don’t make it too obvious.”
“Okay, but where?” Warren questioned.
“Turn around and you can’t miss her, she’s making serious heart eyes at you.” Felicity remarked.
“Wish me luck.” Warren says, standing to his feet.
“You’re the one who doesn’t need luck in this situation.” Felicity says.
Warren blew her a kiss before walking over to the girl. The girl made eye contact with Felicity for a brief moment and Felicity sent the girl a wink before turning away.
Felicity sat alone at the bar from across the room she could see Karen and Graham talking, Graham with a lovestruck expression on his face, causing Felicity to chuckle to herself. She could see Eddie standing not too far away with a girl.
As Felicity looked at Eddie, he looked up making eye contact with her, he sent her a smile, completely ignoring what the girl was saying to him. This caused the girl to scoff and turn around to look at what had caught Eddie’s attention. Once the girl noticed Felicity she scoffed before walking away from Eddie.
Felicity couldn’t help but laugh when she walked away, mainly because of the confused expression on his face as he walked up to Felicity.
“You might want to go after her,” Felicity commented, “Some girls don’t like it when you smile at other girls from across the room.”
“It’s fine, it wasn’t going anywhere anyways.” Eddie says, sitting next to Felicity.
“That makes two of us.” Felicity says, “Every guy I’ve spoken to has been sexist, completely self obsessed or just a dickhead. I’m only looking for sex but I want to at least have some pleasure and none of the guys here are willing to give it.”
“You’ll find someone.” Eddie says.
“You want a drink?”
Many drinks later Felicity and Eddie sat together in a more concealed area of the party, both quite drunk. Eddie’s arm was wrapped around Felicity’s waist as he held her against him.
“You’ll hear my voice on the radio soon.” Felicity says, her head resting on Eddie’s chest.
“I better,” Eddie says, “I want to hear your voice everywhere I go.”
“Won’t you find that annoying?” Felicity questioned, “I get tired of hearing my own voice sometimes.”
“I could never get tired of your voice, it’s just so…nice,” Eddie says, “I bet your ex-boyfriend was a lucky person.”
Felicity snorted, “Ex-boyfriend? Never had one.”
“You’ve never been in a relationship?” Eddie questioned, his words slurred.
“No,” Felicity laughed, “No man is worth my time in a relationship, all they care about is themselves. Besides, no man has ever wanted to be in a relationship with me.”
“I find it hard to believe that no one has ever wanted to be in a relationship with you.” Eddie says, having a sip of his drink.
“Why?” Felicity asked, looking up at Eddie.
“Because you're beautiful, who wouldn’t want to be with you?” Eddie says, brushing a strand of hair out Felicity’s face.
Felicity smiled lazily, “Beautiful is a strong word.”
“No, I mean it.” Eddie says, his hand resting on her jaw.
“Well you’re not too bad yourself Eddie.” Felicity mumbled.
Eddie’s hand continued to caress Felicity’s face as he slowly inched his face closer to hers, his breath fanning her face. Felicity gripped onto the front of Eddie’s shirt, her eyes falling to his lips, Eddie watched her movements closely. Pulling him closer by his shirt, Felicity captured Eddie’s lips with her own, acting on an impulse.
The grip Eddie had on Felicity’s waist tightened as he pulled her body to his. His other hand tangled in her hair. Felicity’s body was on fire, she couldn’t tell if it was because of the kiss or the alcohol in her system.
Pulling away, Felicity mumbled something to Eddie, “We shouldn’t be doing this.”
“I know.” Eddie says breathlessly.
Felicity pulled Eddie back to her, kissing him passionately. Throwing her leg over his lap, she straddled him, while wrapping her arms around his neck. Eddie gripped her hips tightly, as Felicity began to move her hips on top of him. Everything in Felicity’s brain was telling her to stop but her body was doing the complete opposite. She was desperate.
Their kiss was hungry and desperate, they kissed like the other would disappear at any second. Slowly, Eddie’s hands roamed under Felicity’s shirt, touching her bare skin. The touch set her skin on fire, goosebumps formed in his touch’s wake.  Felicity’s fingers tangled in his hair, messing it up.
“We really shouldn’t be doing this.” Eddie mumbled against her lips.
“I know.”
Felicity moved her hips once again, causing Eddie to let out a quiet moan. Felicity smirked against his lips.
“Let’s find a room.”

BILLY DUNNE: At one of our gigs we were talking to Rod Reyes, he gave us some pointers, told us what to do and what not to do, and then he told us to go west. We were all out of school by then and decided maybe it was the best option for us.
ROD REYES (tour manager, The Six): The band had the look they needed, Billy was a natural born rockstar, the long hair, the deep voice, that deadpan look when he doesn’t get his way. Juliet had the rockstar look down, she had this long hair, big hair too, and dark makeup that she never really learned how to use properly. The girls wanted to be her and the guys wanted to sleep with her. And her voice.. she had this raspy voice that she never seemed to tire out. I told Billy, I told him, get her out from behind you, get her out of singing back up, sing a song or two with her, mix things up, people’ll get bored of just hearing you. Most importantly, I told them to get the fuck out of Pittsburgh.
GRAHAM DUNNE: The six of us decided to move out to L.A..
The Six settled into life in Los Angeles, renting a house in the hills of Topanga Canyon. They prepared to begin recording their debut album. Teddy, along with a team of technicians, including lead engineer Artie Snyder, set up shop at Sound City Studios, a recording studio in Van Nuys, California.
The band, Camila alongside, started getting their name out there. They played gigs at clubs and bars, doing near-anything to make a name for themselves on the Sunset Strip. Not too long after, they decided to record an album.
“I feel fully content with my decision to not take your bedroom, Warren,” Juliet hummed in response to Warren’s bragging over having the only bedroom with a bathroom, “Very few people would consider a stray toilet in the corner of your room to be a bathroom, I am proudly not one of those people.” Eddie waltzed into the kitchen, where the group was situated getting ready for the day.
“I’ve been thinking,” he started, taking a seat next to Juliet, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees, “We need a new name, The Dunne Brothers isn’t cutting it for us.”
“Thank you!” Karen yelled, propping herself up against the counter to face the rest of the group.
“I agree, but let’s be realistic,” Juliet reasoned, “you’re never going to get six people to agree on a name.” She leaned against Warren’s shoulder, who was contributing little to the conversation due to how stoned he was.
“We could take the easy way out,” Graham piped in, “The Six.”
“The Six,” Warren hummed, nodding blissfully at the suggestion.
JULIET OPAL: The Six. [Smiles] Warren admitted later that he only liked it because it sounded similar to “The Sex,” I don’t think that was a big part of it for anyone else.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: Julie really liked the name, that was a big part of it for me.
GRAHAM DUNNE: We finished the album, we were going on tour, we needed a real name, it felt right. Plus it was kinda my idea. [Smiles]
Karen and Juliet were draped across the living room carpet, attempting to escape the California heat as the fan that was weakly shackled to the ceiling rotated above them. The girls were taken out of their silent daze with a yelling and laughter radiating from the porch as the rest of the group made their way inside mumbling something about a wedding.
The girls sat up, exhaustion dissipating from their bodies when Camila announced that she was pregnant and her and Billy were getting married that night. They jumped up, Juliet hoisting Karen up from the rug and her sleep deprivation-ridden state, and ran over to congratulate the couple, pulling Camila away from the group and to her closet to pick out her dress.
Later that afternoon, Juliet stood in the dimly-lit backyard, and strung pieces of aluminum foil through the various trees and rosemary bushes speckled across the yard. Eddie crept up behind her, grabbing her wrist, which ultimately led to her dropping the wad of foil into the grass, and spinning her around to face him.
“Eddie!” She looked down at her spilt decorations with a lackluster expression, though a grin was pulling on the corners of her mouth, Eddie made sure not to miss that.
“No, eyes up here,” he lifted up her chin with his other hand and smiled at her, grabbing her other hand and intertwining their fingers as he started to dance with her, “I need practice for tonight, don’t want to make a fool of myself on the dance floor. What time is the minister getting here?”
“I’d hardly call it a dance floor, it’s the same bed of grass you passed out on last week and Warren puked on yesterday,” he laughed, spinning her and then pulling her closer as they continued to dance, “He’s supposed to be here in 40 minutes, but it’s L.A., no one is ever on time, it’s anyone’s guess.”
“Well,” he licked his lips and cleared his throat before continuing to speak, “then you have plenty of time to finish decorating once we’re finished.”
“Nuh uh, I need to help get Camila ready too, pre-wedding jitters. You’ll understand someday,” she leaned her face in closer to his before whispering, “that poor woman.”
“You wound me, Julie, you really do. But alas, a woman’s job is never done,” he stopped moving and let go of her hands, “I’ll finish up here, make her feel real pretty.” He smiled, she quickly ducked down and scooped up the mass of foil and handed it to him, before scurrying inside.
INTERVIEWER: What can you tell me about that night?
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: [Smiles]
JULIET OPAL: Oh, I don’t know. What’s the maturity rating on this?
“Smile for me,” Warren teased, positioning himself for the perfect shot of Camila and Billy, “I need a nice big smile, Billy, knock off the frown, it’s the happiest day of your life!”
“Your lens cap is on!” Camila leaned forward, pulling it off and tossing it to Juliet, who caught it with one hand and handed it to Warren, who stuffed it inside of his pocket and immediately returned to trying to get the couple to pose.
WARREN ROJAS: Mescaline is a powerful drug.
Juliet laughed as she watched the numerous failed attempts at photographing the wedding and muttered something about how maybe Warren should stick to music, before she was tapped on the shoulder. She turned around and was greeted with Eddie smiling at her, his hand extended towards her.
“May I have this dance?” He smirked, raising one eyebrow at her.
“Oh, of course,” she took his hand, tilting her head to the side and smiling, “if not all of your practice will have been for nothing.”
He pulled her away and the two of them found a position only a few dozen feet away from the rest of the group, who was still struggling to take photos. They danced, her head resting on his right shoulder and his hands around her waist, before one of them got the courage to break the comfortable silence.
“I can’t believe they’re gonna be parents,” she marveled, “I still feel like I’m new here and my biggest concern is trying to make him like me. When did we stop being little asshole kids who bummed garages off our parents for practicing space?”
“I’d like to think when we left Pittsburgh, but I think we still are,” she laughed, leaning her head into him.
“Do you think you’ll ever be like that?” He raised an eyebrow at her, “I mean like, ready to settle down? If we get to where we want to be, if we’re as big as we came out here hoping to be, is it even in the cards for us?”
“I think it’ll be tricky, but it always is, whether you’re leaving for a 30 city tour the morning after you get married, or if you just don’t know if you can do it with the kid staying in one piece.”
“I guess so,” she got quiet, swaying to the humming of the music until Eddie eventually decided it was time to rejoin everyone else.
The next morning, Juliet loaded her bag into the van, crawling into the passenger seat next to Eddie behind the wheel. After finalizing her spot, she climbed out and walked over to Camila, throwing her arms around her and leaning into her ear.
“Don’t be a stranger,” she looked at the tears welling up in her eyes before continuing to speak, “I’ll watch out for him for you. Call me if you need anything, I’m serious. I’ll drive back to California from Boston to bring you orange juice if you run out, I’m here.”
Camila hugged her back and Juliet shielded her from the group as she wiped the tears from her eyes, then she climbed back into the van, a stoic expression taking over her face. Eddie noticed and placed his hand over hers on the console, bringing her attention to his face. He nodded and gave her a weak lipped smile. As the group piled into the car, the energy lightened and Eddie let out a “alright, let’s get out of here,” before pulling onto the road.
JULIET OPAL: And then we were off.

On October 4, 1977, Daisy Jones & The Six performed to a sold out crowd at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. They were one of the biggest bands in the world at the time, fresh off their award-winning, multi-platinum selling album “Aurora.” It would be their final performance.
In the 20 years since, members of the band and their inner circle have refused to speak on the record about what happened… Until now.
THE RISE OF THE SIX (1966-1972)
The Six started out as a blues-rock band called the Dunne Brothers in the mid-sixties out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Billy and Graham Dunne were raised by single mother, Marlene Dunne, after their father, William Dunne Sr., left in 1954.
BILLY DUNNE (lead singer, The Six): I always dreamed of something different than the typical laid out career paths. When Graham first got the idea to start a band, I assumed it was just to win back his girlfriend. He was, what fourteen? The kid thought his life was over. [Laughs] I guess in retrospect, maybe it was a good idea.
WARREN ROJAS (drummer, The Six): He was definitely trying to get his girlfriend back.
GRAHAM DUNNE (lead guitar, The Six): We were solid, fine for a while. When Chuck quit, we were out a bassist, which isn’t really something you can do without in a band. Billy originally wanted Eddie to switch to bass, but he wasn’t too keen on that.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE (rhythmic guitar, The Six): I was so sick of Billy trying to run the band, it wasn’t his band, or at least, it wasn’t supposed to be.
WARREN ROJAS: There was this girl in my math class, her uncle owned a music store downtown, and she used to give lessons to kids on weekends, it was mostly just some scheme by her uncle to get people to buy guitars.
BILLY DUNNE: She was a sophomore, a young sophomore at that, she wasn’t even 16 by the time she joined, I was a year out of high school and the rest of the boys are creeping on 17 and 18, she just didn’t fit. Warren gets all the boys on board before bringing the idea up to me so I look like the asshole if I say no, I wanted to say no too, but she was good and I didn’t have another option.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: She didn’t even show an interest in being in the band, she wasn’t begging us to give her a chance, we were near-stalking her at the music store, waiting for the perfect opportunity to hear her play and casually bring up that we happened to need a bassist.
JULIET OPAL (bassist/singer, The Six): They weren’t nearly as sly as they thought they were. I originally thought it was some attempt at stealing records or 8-tracks, y’know waiting until I wasn’t looking, but they kept coming back, seemingly just waiting for me to do something, what it was I didn’t know, but something.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: [Sighs] They decided I would be the one to talk to her.
The shop’s bell rang, signaling the door had been opened, which swung Juliet’s attention away from the magazine she was skimming and up to the front of the store, peering through the aisles to see who entered. A boy, one she recognized from the creeping on her from the previous weeks, made himself visible and she was immediately on high alert. He approached the counter, swallowing nerves as he did, and cleared his throat.
“Hi,” his voice was hoarse, she took the awkward silence as a moment to study him, he wore a striped shirt, loose jeans, and brown shoes, his hair could use a comb through. He extended his hand, “I’m Eddie, I think we go to school together.”
“Juliet,” she met his hand, “is that why you’re here, to tell me that we might go to school together? Or is there an ulterior motive, one that may explain why you and your friends have been spying on me the past week,” any speck of confidence Eddie had going into this was entirely gone.
“I’m in a band with some friends and our bassist bailed on us pretty recently. My friend, Warren, he’s a junior like me, I think he’s in your math class, said he saw you play bass and that you were good. We just wanted to see you play before we formally asked.”
“Formally asked what?” She leaned up from her elbows that she had been propped on.
“Oh, to, uh, like,” he stopped himself, licking his lips and sighing, “would you want to maybe play bass for us?” His eyes instantly went to his shoes and he stuffed his hands inside his pockets.
“Can I have a little more info maybe? It’s not personal, I just don’t know you, like at all and you could be the worst players for all I know.”
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: That one hurt, something about a younger kid who you have a solid five inches on insinuating that she’s better than you are, especially when you’re practically on your knees begging for her to help you out can feel like salt being rubbed into a fresh wound.
JULIET OPAL: What else was I supposed to do? [Laughs] Just blindly follow the older boy who had been spying on me for a week to the alleged garage that he practices in with his alleged band and hope for the best? I paid attention in the stranger-danger assemblies, I knew better.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: I invited her back to Billy and Graham’s but she said she had to close up for her uncle. Once we were out in L.A. she told me she actually just didn’t wanna leave with me and in hindsight, I can’t say I blame her.
The following morning Juliet and the Dunne Brothers skipped their first period and met in the Dunne’s garage. Juliet studied the wads of scribbled sheet music Billy had handed to her without looking her in the eye and she didn’t miss the way Eddie rolled his eyes at his hostility, and Eddie didn’t miss the way her upper lip curled into a smile as she saw his reaction.
After rifling through the stack of papers, she picked out one at random, and set it down on the table in front of her, leaning over to scan in a few times before pulling the strap of her guitar over her head. She looked over to the group of boys, standing huddled together with Billy noticeably further away and Warren nodded fervently at her with a grin overtaking her face.
After she played through the song, Billy made her play another, and another, and two more after that ‘for safety.’ Once he had run out of excuses for her to keep playing, he asked her to step out of the garage so they could confer with each other. After seven minutes and two overheard “c’mon man”s from Warren, Juliet was invited back into the garage and to serve as a temporary bass for the band, just until Billy could come to his final decision.
JULIET OPAL: He was stubborn even then, I’m honestly surprised he let me in.
BILLY DUNNE: I didn’t want to let her in the band.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: I wanted her in the band, I made sure Billy knew that.
JULIET OPAL: A week after I joined, we were playing a gig with the Winters.
The group stood backstage, listening to the music that was permeating into every corner of the room. Juliet stood sandwiched between Warren and Camila, listening to the band. They had a keyboardist, she caught Juliet’s eye once they had got backstage, when they finished playing and she got offstage, Juliet made a beeline for her, introducing herself.
“I’m Karen,” she introduced herself, “you play with these guys?”
“Mhm, I’m on bass right now, but in an ideal world I’d steal Eddie over there’s job,” she pointed to him and he smiled back, nodding his head up at her, unknowingly, “I won’t though, kinda like him, at least more than I do Billy,” Karen nodded, opening her mouth to excuse herself from the conversation, “y’know I’ve been saying we need a keyboardist.”
“Have you now?” That piqued her interest she stopped in her tracks and smirked over her shoulder.
“No,” she admitted, “but I’ve been thinking it.” Billy hollered her name, gesturing her over to the group, who were making their way onstage. She pulled a receipt with a phone number scribbled across it in black ink and handed it to Karen, “If you ever get sick of them, give me a call, I’ll put in a good word for you.”
“Do you always carry around drug store receipts with your phone number on them?”
“You never know who you might meet,” she shrugged and started sprinting towards the stage before calling out over her shoulder, “worked out this time. Wish me luck!”
KAREN SIRKO (keyboardist, The Six): She was so.. vivacious, so full of life. She apoke about a million miles a minute, if I wasn’t fully interested in what she was saying, I don’t think I would’ve caught a word of it. You have this young girl talking your ear off, she seems entirely sure of herself, but also still feels a need to prove to you that she deserves to be there.
JULIET OPAL: I liked Karen, how could I not? And based on the way events would play out, clearly I wasn’t the only one.
WARREN ROJAS: It was a great gig, Julie did great, not that we weren’t expecting her to, we were just worried about her, she had never done anything in front of a crowd before, but she did everything that actually counted right.
EDDIE ROUNDTREE: On the drive home she sat next to me and she told me I played well, then she leaned in and kinda whispered and she thanked me. She thanked me for being the one to ask her to join because she would’ve said no to anyone else. [Smiles]
