Lots of ominous news nowadays, but there are good things too! Thailand's Marriage Equality Law took effect today!

This tweet takes you to the top of a thread that lists all the changes, like replacing gendered terms like husband and wife with spouses, same-sex marriages have full legal status that, same-sex couples can adopt and use IVF and create pre-nups, just a whole lot of steps to make them equal.
It's all just so amazing and joyous. They hosted a parade for the newlywed couples!

I humbly request that you infodump whatever is currently rotating in your mind re: Regency ghost/Regency ghost research.
Thinking about how he's so rattled when he finds out over two hundred years have passed since he died. He's amazed and horrified, has a hard time wrapping his mind around the fact that huge historical events happened after he died and he doesn't know anything about them, that buildings younger than him are considered heritage sites and are preserved. Absolutely shocked when he discovers planes are real, the afterlife isn't playing tricks on him, that there are indeed huge flying machines that go over his house every day and they take people across oceans in less than a day. Thankfully, he's very excited by all these developments, grief and overwhelm by the passage of time aside. He likes playing with ghost hunters' tech. He's gotten very good at using it. Would very much like to take a trip in one of those flying machines, if someone can figure out how to get him on one.

I spent like $600 to go through a private clinic for an assessment and yes, I have raging adhd. I wish I could have just given like Everyone in my life that $600 because they all knew. I doubted, but they knew.

Just thought to myself "can't women have a bad time in fiction without rape being involved" which really shows you how much you're in the fucking trenches if you are both a horror fan and women fan

serious question, is anyone really going to see new marvel movies anymore? I was under the impression the hype had not only passed but totally died, but that could just be what i'm seeing from the people I personally interact with on a day to day.

They always say to ‘write the book you want to read’ but they never told me it’s because I’d have to reread it 2949492 times

wait do people read first person stories and think they're the ones in the story???
Saw people talking about not liking first person, which is fair, but their reasoning was like "I would not do that" and I don't understand that mindset.
First person stories are still about a character. A character making their own decisions. First person isn't about you???? At least I thought it wasn't. What am I missing? I've always seen first person as just a more in-depth look into a character's mind and stricter POV. Not as a reader stand-in.

do you ever find yourself bedeviled by writing ideas that are the equivalent of finding a single carrot in your fridge. your brain goes "we should write a pirate story" or "we should write a parisian thief caper" and you ask, "all right, what do we cook with that, then?" and it says "no other ingredients (:"
