I'm gonna say it, Rogue is nothing like Jack Harkness. The only things they have in common is that they're both American, had somewhat similiar jobs when they were introduced, and both love the Doctor. That is IT.

Personality wise I can't see Jack in Rogue at all! Rogue's a nerd! He gets flustered! He panics when the Doctor tells him to say anything!

Do you think Captain Jack Harkness would act anything like Rogue did in that episode. Like I got the whole "Oh welcome back Captain Jack!" before the episode came out but dude. They're entirely different people.

FUNNIEST (read: fucked up) THING about the Doctor deciding the Chuldurs' needed to suffer for killing Ruby? Is that the plan seemingly did not change.

The Doctor didn't change the settings to super hell dimension or anything. They just admitted to themselves how utterly inhumane trapping someone on a barren dimension for 600~ years would be. Flipping the exact same action from 'merciful' to 'rightful suffering', in an instant. They knew it was a fate worse than death. So no plan reworking was needed.

The Doctor is so fucked up, I love them.

i cannot believe i have spent since whenever they first announced a regency period episode being a direct hater towards that episode only and dreaded it up until literally the moment i sat down to watch it just for the damn thing to end up being one of my top episodes of the season and give me the new doctor/unhinged equal that isn’t the master (because nothing will ever touch thoschei to me) ship i have been craving since river left. i should’ve trusted women would deliver sorry women not very lesbian in pride month of me

Rogue is too awkward and dorky to be River OR Jack okay. He's a nerd he freezes up when the Doctor tries to make a scene he is NOT smooth or cool. His name is Rogue, which he got from table top roleplaying game Dungeons and Dragons. If you told me this was his first mission as a bounty hunter and he was just channeling his dnd character I would not be shocked.
