ever notice how you can be emotionally mature, self-aware, therapized, journaled-up, and still fall face-first into your own humanity?
like you clock the red flag in real time, you name your inner child’s need, you breathe through the trigger—and then still spiral bc someone took too long to text back or you accidentally caught feelings for a walking trauma response
self-awareness doesn’t save you from feelings. it just lets you watch them unfold like, “ah yes. here comes the emotional devastation. completely understood. totally irrational. unstoppable.”
you can be wise and still messy. evolved and still yearning. a tragic little sea slug of consciousness, floating toward the light and bumping into rocks anyway.
and honestly? that’s kind of beautiful.🪼🫧

The best advice i can give any creator is do it before you're good at it, do it BEFORE you're happy, do it while you suck, do it while you're doubting yourself and get stuck the fuck in, because waiting around to be "good enough" is a motherfucking trap of the highest degree. You'll get good along the way and better after ever project is complete. Remember, this is the greatest thing you've ever created, and then you'll do something else. You're only ever gonna get better, but not if you stand still.

to be perfectly honest. i don't care if it is cheesy or cliched or idealistic. i like stories where the core of it is about kindness, the warmth we can offer others and the gentleness we receive in return. maybe the moral of the story IS love triumphs. it better fucking be

5 Tiny Writing Tips That Aren’t Talked About Enough (but work for me)
These are some lowkey underrated tips I’ve seen floating around writing communities — the kind that don’t get flashy attention but seriously changed how I write.
1. Put “he/she/they” at the start of the sentence less often.
Try switching up your sentence rhythm. Instead of
“She walked to the window,”
try
“The window creaked open under her touch.”
Keeps it fresh and stops the paragraph from sounding like a checklist.
2. Don’t describe everything — describe what matters.
Instead of listing every detail in a room, pick 2–3 objects that say something.
“A half-drunk mug of tea and a knife on the table”
sets a way stronger tone than
“There was a wooden table, two chairs, and a shelf.”
3. Use beats instead of dialogue tags sometimes.
Instead of:
"I'm fine," she said.
Try:
"I'm fine." She wiped her hands on her skirt.
It helps shows emotion, and movement.
4. Write your first draft like no one will ever read it.
No pressure. No perfection. Just vibes. The point of draft one is to exist. Let it be messy and weird — future you will thank you for at least something to edit.
5. When stuck, ask: “What’s the most fun thing that could happen next?”
Not logical. Not realistic. FUN. It doesn’t have to stay — but chasing excitement can blast through writer’s block and give you ideas you actually want to write.
What’s a tip that unexpectedly helped with your writing? Let me know!! 🍒

write a new scene → realize it contradicts something from chapter 3 → fix chapter 3 → now chapter 7 makes no sense → cry → repeat

Colombia, My Promised Land
Colombia, today I write with an open heart, because I cannot stay silent. Today, many march in silence, and though my body doesn’t allow me to join, I lift my voice through these words. I cannot ignore the sadness, the anger, and the concern after recent events—especially the attack on Miguel Uribe. It cuts deep to think that yet another family is facing the horror of possibly losing a father, a husband, as I once did. That kind of pain is indescribable, and no one should endure it.
Colombia, you welcomed me back as if I had never left. So generous, so warm, so full of contrasts. I returned and found familiar places and new ones too, but all of them spoke the language of my soul. Here I am once again, walking your streets, watching your people resist, dream, fight, and love— as only Colombians know how: with spirit, with music, with fire.
We spread across the world… Some searching for safety, others for better opportunities, and many of us, like me, found both. But we left pieces of our hearts behind, years without coming back, hugs left in suspense, flavors tucked into memory. And every time my vacations ended, I boarded the plane with a lump in my throat. That bittersweet ache only understood by those who have had to leave the land they love.
Young people may not fully grasp the fear of losing someone to violence, but I’m sure they don’t want to live it either. They’ve heard the stories from parents and grandparents— of stray bullets and broken dreams. That story must not repeat itself. We cannot get used to living in fear. We must protect life, respect our differences, and build through dialogue, not hate.
Today I write to say I love you, Colombia. I love you with everything I have. I love you with the strength of someone who returned and discovered even deeper roots. In every life I live, I want to be Colombian. Because despite the chaos, the injustice, the pain, this land remains a promise, it remains home, it remains life.

How come you're all about "feminism" until it's time to protest? We haven't seen you make a single fucking post about the LA riots and it's really disappointing.
Hi friends. This is your reminder not to reply to questions like this. You do not need to self-report your behavior. This is a guilt trip designed to make you violate your own Miranda rights.
Also, they are not riots (Freudian slip, fed?), they're peaceful protests and are a democratic right under the first amendment.
where to find your local protest donate to legal funds my local immigrant support network
be safe out there, i love you.

Reading my own fanfiction is basically just a rollercoaster of emotional whiplash.
20% of the time: “Hold on. I wrote this? This is fire. This is emotionally devastating in the best way. This scene is dripping with tension. I’m a literary perfectionist. Someone give me a book deal.”
80% of the time: “Straight to jail. Immediate prison. Why is everyone’s breath hitching?. I used the word ‘gaze’ three times in one paragraph like I was possessed. Did I think 'his eyes darkened' was profound? Why is everyone clenching their jaws? Why is someone whispering 'their name like a prayer' again?? No one talks like this. What is this dialogue. Why are there so many weird metaphors and em-dashes…”
