WAS UNS VERBINDET - IT’SNOTLIKETHIS : Aline Martinez, Christian Doeller and Rachel Smith
Fön Residency  Exhibition, Erfurt, 2017
WHAT CONNECTs US?
What happens when we solve questions that are usually posed to machines?  Would it change how we relate to one another and could it alter how we see ourselves in society?
Unlike computers, humans use emotional parameters to solve their problems. A computer follows preprogrammed rules and repeats itself over and over again. It cannot respond to changes in outside stimulus.
By interacting with this installation and sorting the colours, the ribbons interchange and, step by step, a pattern is woven. This pattern is a historical archive of how the previous visitors have solved the problem over time.

THE LITTLE BANK - COMPUTING WITH THREADS TEAM
Summaery Bauhaus, Weimar, 2016
An old bank in Weimar used to communicate internally through colorful bulbs. Each combination of colours would have an specific meaning. We build a simple computer out of threads which controls the light and the video game characters. Attention: all lights on means  “bank robbery”.

LETTER TO THE FUTURE GENERATION
How will we communicate in the future? I am not sure if it will be through the spoken language. So I am knitting  a letter to the future generation in with the binary code.
Ongoing project.
