27 yo Dutchie who loves thrifting alternative fashion. I'm mainly into goth and strega fashion and get a lot of joy out of thrifting a nice outfit, or rummage through sale-items at regular stores to put something nice together. I hope that through this blog I can share the things I collect with like-minded people. I hope you are inspired and enjoy this Tumblr!

Nothing special today, had to go to work and we have to wear boring clothes there(think company poloshirt and ALWAYS blue jeans, the horror), but I did find this cool dress yesterday on sale at H&M. Was only 10 euro’s and I absolutely love it! Simple yet beautiful. I feel like some cool character from The Matrix. Turtleneck longsleevedress H&M €10 Leather tights Primark €8 Demonia Shaker 53 thrifted €50

Got these babies in the mail today... Demonia Trashville 205 and Demonia Shaker 52. Retailprice for both of them new is around €100, but thrifted them both online, paid 25 bucks (euro’s) for the Trashvilles and 50 for the Shakers, though where the Shakers were used, the Trahsvilles are absolutely brand new. A little to big but nothing an extra pair of socks can’t fix :) am thinking about altering the Trashvilles and removing some or all of the belts. I think they it would do the shoes more justice if they were just plain and simple. This makes me happyyyyy :):)

Example of how I wear fancy tights. I’m addicted to these overknee socks so you will probably see a lot of them. I always find it a little bit more intereseting if between the socks and the skirt/shorts an interesting pattern is visible and not only plain leg or black. Hence the patterned tights come in. I also like that it can create a certain feel for an outfit; hearts for a cute outfit, leopardprint or snakeprint for more of a kickass feeling, etc. Excuse the lack of jewelry, I only put this on for the pic and had not further plans besides chillin’ with mah bunny so wasn’t in the mood to fancy it up.
Also, I love these shoes <3
Further specs: Dress is from Primark €8 Overknee socks Pamela Mann €9 Tights (thrifted online) €2,50 Demonia Tempo (thrifted online) €27something

Little intro...
Hi dear people, if there ever will be any following this Tumblr... thought it might be decent to give a little introduction of me, this blog, and why I created it. I’m a 27 year old girl from the Netherlands. Started getting into alternative fashion when I was about twelve years old. I can’t exactly remember how. I do remember that my first ever piece of alternative wear was a very wide, flared pair of pants, which I absolutely adored. From there on I slowly got into more typical baby-bat things, such as more flared trousers, spikey bracelets, shirts with large sleeves, lot’s of rubber jewelry. I grew up in the time and age where Avril Lavigne was awesome to us 12 year-olds and ‘alternative’ was pretty much no more than skate-trousers, bandshirts, DC shoes and simplistic silver necklaces. I liked it a lot back then though, so I wore that style for a long time. Later on I moved to somewhat not-to-standard skinnyjeans, because also alternative fashion seemed to follow the skinny trend and my beloved wide-ass pants were barely ever found anymore. I still combined my skinny jeans with bandshirts, later on also typical geeky movie shirts with logos and stuff from compangies from movies only the real nerds would understand. Think Wayland Utani, Stark Industries, stuff like that. After I while, I started to feel, I don’t know, not in sync with my style anymore. I felt boring, not feminine, not really like myself anymore. I’ve struggled for a while, looking for something I would like, not really seemed able to find something. Until I found Strega. I think I stumbled upon it rather accidentaly, scrolling through pictures of outfits on Google or something, and clicked some awesome outfit with leather tights and platform boots and a pointy flowy cardigan, all black. I’m not sure who’s picture it was anymore, but I sure owe them a lot. They tagged their picture ‘strega fashion’, so I Googled it and immediately fell in love. It may sound corny, but it felt like coming home. To me, strega consists of lots of layering, for me especially dark colours, an overall witchy feel that translates to flowy items, and jewelry like silver pendants and gems and stones. It can be bad-ass and feminine at the same time. It was everything I liked, and looked for. I slowly started clearing out my wardrobe and gradually added stuff to it that I liked and I finally felt like me again. I had never really been into fashion that much, but this style made my interest in clothing, expressing yourself through it and alternative fashion so much larger. Like I said, I don’t remember who’s picture I saw that first time, but to my knowlegde Mai Magi is the founder of this style, so I think I owe her a big thanks. A thing I did found out soon, and already knew from my Overzeas/DC/Dickies days, was that alternative fashion was expensive. I love Killstar, Demonia, Queen of Darkness and all that sort of stuff, but can’t afford it. So I started thrifting a lot, especially on second-hand Dutch sites, and up untill this day has turned into some sort of a hobby. I can browse stuff for hours and sometimes I go crazy and buy shit untill I drop. But it doesn’t hurt, because it’s affordable. That’s what makes it so damn awesome..
