Alex rolled his eyes. "Only 'cause you know that you'd lose this argument. My hair's better and it always will be. I suppose he's about on the same level as a crocodile. Still couldn't get a cat though. Not with dad's feelings towards them. And, like I said, couldn't get a dog because father's got even stronger feelings towards them."
“Something almost exactly like that.” Alex smiled, rolling his eyes. “How can your hair be almost dry?” Granted, Alex’s hair was ridiculously thick and seemed to get waterlogged so it took at least an hour to get back to normal but still. “You can go change and I’ll call the cab whilst you’re out.”

Alex pouted. "I don't take it too personally. You're fine. I mean, I get the whole thing about only being on the date 'cause of the whole other thing, so if you're a teensy-weensy bit mean, I won't mind. I'm still having fun. Ooooooh, you said you like me, not my clothes. Maybe you don't think I'm all that bad." Alex leaned in and batted his eyelashes. He quickly remembered that he was supposed to be driving and turned his attention back to the road he'd nearly drove them off.
"Mmhmm, just carry on filling my lovely care with your filthy habit," He glared at her before lightening up. "Just kidding. I smoke too. I think that most of us do, actually, helps calm the nerves and keeps the hand steady maybe... Yeah, well, I wasn't going to just go off without telling anyone about it, was I? I had to let him know." Alex laughed. "Well, we've got our incentive to play nicely now, haven't we? What with the whole... Paying for it thing. So you don't kill me and I definitely won't kill you. Little git's good with knives."

“If you do want to say it back, then it would be much appreciated,” Alex said immediately, giving her a quick, surprised look before just looking pleased. “I know I do. I was supposed to. I like bow ties.” Bow ties are cool. “It’s nice of you to say so though. I would have expected you to be far too proud to ever admit that I could look nice. After all, you’d leave me behind if I was too hurt. You’re mean to me.”
Alex pouted at her as he said that and then waited quite patiently for her to consider all of the options. “I didn’t have breakfast. I never do. Cereal tastes like cardboard, toast turns to mush and I don’t like pancakes. And who eats fruit for breakfast? That’s weird. Fruit is a snack, not a meal.” Alex thought for a moment before he smiled. “Got one. I’m a bit overdressed, I think. Oh well. They won’t say anything. I’m on a date. And you’re not a boy - boys seem to want dates more than girls - and you’re not wearing a minidress that’s more like a belt. They’ll be overjoyed. Did he? What did he say?”

"Boredom really is dangerous." He grinned. "Sometimes it drives people to do stupid things. My father does that a lot. One time, he shredded my dad's clothes because he was bored and dad wouldn't respond to his texts when he sent twenty of them. They were all of his name." Alex rolled his eyes. "Ah. No, you're not. You're the same. All of you are the same really, all that sneakiness. Of course, there's all that sneakiness in men too, so I suppose everyone's the same."
Alex smirked. "It's not a bit dangerous and fun. It's extremely dangerous and fun. More dangerous than fun, actually, I'd say. But it's really fine. I enjoy it. It's the family business, after all. And I hate denim because it's horrible. It smells wrong, it looks wrong and it feels wrong."

“Then I am extremely honoured to meet you and be with you, dear Alexander. It’s much better to be unusual, at least it’s not ordinary, right?” She said in a playful tone, and made a small curtsy in front of him while smiling. “I wonder how long I could keep that interest for you? Physical appearance is an important tool one must not take lightly.”
She laughed again for a bit, before replying to his words. “Why? Is it bad for people to recognize you? What do you do, anyway? I could imagine you strutting in the cat walk wearing either extravagant suits or cross-dressing like my dress here.” Raising an eyebrow, she asked. “Tiny things? Like what? I’m interested to hear them.”

"My hair looks good without a £50 shampoo!" Alex protested. "I just prefer to use it because... You know, it makes it softer. It's nice. I could look good without any shampoo but I'd really rather not." Alex looked a little proud of his achievement with getting the cat over to him and cautiously touched it's head, finally getting the hang of scratching it's ears.

Hi all, sorry about not being on. I've been having some family problems recently and I haven't felt much like RPing between all of that and how busy I've been. But I'm going to try and answer anyone that I've heartlessly abandoned and be on more often.

"He is brilliant. Not that that makes people enjoy being around him, they really don't like it, he intimidates them but, honestly, he is brilliant. He's a genius. Nothing could become normal if he could do anything about it. And he can do something about it." Alex shook his head. "Your dress isn't the only weapon you have. Women can use all sorts of things against men. You're crafty, that's why, most of you." He rolled his eyes.
Alex thought for a moment before he shrugged. "Well, it's not mine but it is a network. A spider web. It's all very elaborate. I didn't mean if you'd been raped. I mean if you'd raped someone else. I would totally judge you for that, by the way. Even I don't like that. No, you shouldn't wear denim. Denim is awful. It smells wrong."

Alex pouted at her, shaking his head. "My hair's much better than yours. I probably wash mine more than you watch yours, don't forget that. I spend a lot of time on it. Don't make it seem like yours could be better. When you're willing to spend £50 on shampoo, then we can talk." Alex watched her as she walked away and then smiled as the cat came over to him, jumping up into his lap.

Essay on ‘A Picture of Dorian Gray’ and it’s allusions to other works. I’m going to focus on the faustian theme of it.” Alex waved his hand like that was easy. “Shouldn’t take too long…”

"I said that it's not that important," Alex frowned at him. "Not that it didn't matter. Of course it matters. If I'm not attracted to them, there'll be no point in taking them home, it's not going to work, is it? But, like I said, some things matter more." Alex wasn't used to repeating himself, not unless it was just because that was what he did sometimes when he was talking. He was used to giving and receiving information quickly and if you didn't understand or hear properly, then it was your problem. "Sometimes shy people are nice. It's great to be able to make someone feel confident and good about themselves, even if you're only doing it for one night." Alex shrugged and then beckoned Hamish closer. It'd look weird if Hamish was trailing him. "I'm a bad influence, not because of the assassin thing, but because I distract you from studying? Right. There's a place around the corner. Only tiny. And it's not a bar or a club. I'm not going to try and trick the son of Sherlock Holmes into drinking."

Hamish let out an exaggerated sigh, rolling his eyes slightly. “Whatever. It doesn’t matter. It’s all the same really” He shrugged. “Well you sleep around quite a bit it seems. Most people would define that as being floozy” He nodded, the corners of his lips turning up into a wry smile. “How kind of you! You pay for the cab fare home” He said, unable to keep the amusement from his face. “And tell me, how exactly do they make an impression on you? I’m going to guess that you go by how they look because you sure as hell aren’t going to get intelligent conversation out of a tipsy person who you picked up at a bar. Yes, I’m free for the evening. But what makes you think that I’d want to spend any more time here with you? Aside from the fact that you kill people.. I have studying to do”

"Ah. Of course you would never have known that I was a murderer. That's kind of part of what makes me a good murderer. It's a good trick to have, to look like you're really not all that bad because then people wouldn't suspect you." Anyway, it's not hard to explain. Your brain thinks one thing and your eyes another. It's usually head and heart but I can understand in this situation."
Alex’s grin widened. “Ah, the soaked bit isn’t so bad. Just a tiny bit uncomfortable. I’m more concerned on how I’m probably dripping water all over your couch. Mmhmm. "God, my Father hates ordinary people. I've grown up to follow in his footsteps on that point and now someone has to be fun otherwise I can't speak to them. I get too irritated. They bore me and then I get snappy." Alex bowed deeply in return. "You could keep it for a while, love. Physical appearance is probably the most important weapon we have at our disposal."
"It's definitely not good for people to recognize me. I work for my Father." Alex smiled. "Oh, I'd definitely be cross dressing. It'd be more entertaining, wouldn't it? Tiny things like... Rape. I could look down on that for you. I don't like that. I do have some morals left. And wearing denim. I would definitely think badly of you for the denim."

“I am, don’t worry.” Calla beamed still giggling every now and then. “Really? I should feel honored then? Because you’re being nice to me. Either that or you’re just faking it all. I believe I want the first one, Alexander.”  shaking her head she continued. “I’m quite aware of your good looks.”
“Yes indeed. You could have been a fashion model.” Calla’s eyes avoided his for a moment, before sighing. “I’m sorry…it’s… it’s just. I’m not quite sure how I would tell you about it. I’m not even sure if I told you…things will stay the same.” How was she even sure that Alexander will stay anyway?

Alex tapped his fingers against the side of the car as he waited for her to come out, watching the doors to the building carefully. As soon as she appeared, he started beaming. It wasn’t nice to look like he didn’t want to go on the date. He thought it would be fun. She didn’t seem to think the same as he did, judging by the way she greeted him.
“Hmm… At least it was half a flirt.” Alex immediately went to kiss her on the lips - it could have been habit or just wishful thinking, he wasn’t sure - but didn’t lose any enthusiasm as he kissed her cheek instead. “You look lovely.” He said it politely. He could be a gentleman if he really wanted to be. “You don’t have to say it back, you might crumple into dust with the scandalous nature of it.” Alex rolled his eyes.
Alex started the car up and peeled away from the pavement slowly before he floored it, going just a little slower than he usually would. He was thoughtful like that. His father hated getting into a car with him. “Well, there’s a few options. We can go out to dinner. If you want. I know posh places and disgusting places, expensive ones and cheap ones… We could go to a bar. We could go dancing. We could go to a cinema. We could get coffee. We could do whatever you want, red.”
Alex looked over at her with a small smirk. “We could always go back to your flat. Or to my flat if you want to be interrogated by Father for a little while. He’d do it to make me uncomfortable, evil git.” Alex’s smirk grew more pronounced. “Now, it’s all up to you. We both know that I’m able to pay for the entire night and I’m willing to.”

Quote
He will choose you, disarm you with his words, and control you with his presence. He will delight you with his wit and his plans. He will show you a good time but you will always get the bill. He will smile and deceive you, and he will scare you with his eyes. And when he is through with you, and he will be through with you, he will desert you and take with him your innocence and your pride. You will be left much sadder but not a lot wiser, and for a long time you will wonder what happened and what you did wrong. And if another of his kind comes knocking on your door, will you open it?
