Are we really continuing Doom Day Situation and are treating DA as officially dead? Because cycles are changing? Who confirmed that Dragon Age is dead? Literally, I want names and official statements.
#yeah Jfc people#some real doomer shit#tho op I think the current state of the world is making people’s doomerism worse

Is it just me or is content (romance questline, quest triggers, etc.) involving Lucanis really bugged? I’ve had to reload for mostly Lucanis stuff.

I keep seeing this trend of people defending Neve or Lucanis regarding ships or whatever. My opinion on the whole thing is simple.
The writing is clunky for both. Not bad per se but awkward. The city choice straight up cuts content which is a fact.
Everyone is getting pissed at each other because they’re trying to force Watsonian explanations that don’t work for either side. Who cares if Lucanis loves Rook more or Neve more? These relationships are written very differently. It’s not that they’re different relationships. We got different writing styles going on.
I wouldn’t be mad at each other. Be baffled at the awkward writing of these Canadian centrists. Go pick up a copy of stone butch blues or read stuff done by Larry Mitchell. Read stuff that challenges you and respects your intelligence.
A doylist interpretation will set you free.

I wouldn’t say that. There’s plenty of chill folks but it’s mostly older fans who have seen this cycle play out. I’d just love to know the secret sauce that makes people shitty about DA in the first place.
Okay, why is the Dragon Age fandom like this? I know overly invested fans are in all forms of media but DA manages to gather an extreme rancid attitude out of people.

I get what you’re saying but this has been an issue with DA for longer than that. I’m getting war flashbacks from 2014 when DAI first came out. Even before then, the fans drove away Anders’ writer and she vowed to never write for video games ever again.
You see hints of issues like these in other media like TES but DA has this huge history of being especially shitty.

Feel like… Veilguard had a lot of good potential. Just finished Act 1 and my fingers are itching to rewrite some of the plots and characters.

I see so many posts about Spite being a gremlin but nothing about it being a physical manifestation of the Jungian Shadow.
Someone ask Mary Kirby about this. Did she crack open a psych textbook when writing him?

Oh shit, I had an epiphany on the toilet!!
Lucanis can abominate, huh? My guys, he did exactly that in his short story! He broke the sphere keeping the Veil intact and turned a shitload of people into abominations!

Another thought for the crowd:
So far the theories have been that Illario helped stage Luccy’s death or straight up doesn’t know that his cousin is still alive.
There’s also a chance that Illario might have set up Lucanis to die. He wants to be First Talon, right? It’s mentioned as a point of conflict between the two. Sure, Lucanis doesn’t want the position but he’s still in the way. It’s shown multiple times that the fuckboy act he does is a front. At his core, he’s a cold assassin first and fuckboy second.
So Illario might have ‘killed’ Lucanis.

Just wanted to throw out more bullshit about Crows being fucky.

I get that being an assassin is a deadly profession but… Illario, why are you so ominous? It’s a bit of a stretch but I feel like these lines hint to something more.
Wouldn’t have to do what exactly, Illy-Billy? Be an assassin or do some blood ritual to keep up with Luc’s abilities? Clearly grandma is sending him out to kill folks. That much is obvious but the tension in this moment feels weird.
My conclusion here is that Illario is referencing the blood rituals Zev mentioned in DAO and that perhaps Luc is slowly dying (?) or suffering greatly to achieve these abilities.

Still convinced that Luki Pooki had Crow shit done to him despite the ‘demonic aura’ and ‘abominate’ stuff.

Man has been called a demon since even before the Qunari took over Treviso. Even the highest ranking Crows (Talons) are scared shitless of him. Crow Blood rituals, baby, and get a load of Caterina. You don’t reach her age in an assassin guild without serious ruthlessness. I bet she doped up her grandbaby with Fade juice or something.

I feel like I’m only one not fully into the whole ‘Lucanis is possessed’ theory. Throughout the entirety of the Wigmaker Job, my guy was sensing magic left and right. And beyond that, Luccy had some super sense shit going on.

This seems a… bit much. A lot of folks can get detailed readings off sounds like determining individuals from footsteps in a quiet environment but… this reads as balls to the walls sensory processing. Like super human levels.
My theory is that the Crows did something to him. There’s a reason why the Dellamortes are top dog among the houses and I think it involves some shady shit. Maybe blood rituals or he’s a bit of a mage. OR better yet!!! Spirit Warrior spec is back but it’s rogue edition.
#lucanis dellamorte#dragon age lucanis#dragon age the veilguard#tevinter nights#I also think the demon possession thing is a bit boring#let’s make it weirder there was a whole story about Mr blob the face man in the book#more horrors please
