No, no, speak the truth! I love everything that you said. The crippling problems with current 'TV' shows leads back to the executives and higher-ups of these entertainment companies only wanting to turn as big a profit as they can. They don't care about creatives, the only thing they care about are those dollar signs.
I think part of the reason why Hollywood is in so much trouble right now is executive greed and the push for 'binge' released content. Like you said, in the current format there's little time for an actual community to form around these shows before they're forgotten and the next 'big' show is shoved into our faces.
And the funny thing about all this, is that weekly release DOES work! Including your examples I can also think of The Last of Us and Dungeon Meshi as examples that prove that weekly releases are not only successful, but also provide longevity to these stories. Last of Us is a bit different since it was so highly anticipated, but I don't think that detracts from what I'm trying to say.
I, too long for the days where we have 15-20 episodes per season. I can't tell you how nice it was to get so many episodes for The Owl House, and how gutted I was that the final season got reduced to three movie length episodes. Dana and the team did the best they could with what they had, but it's so stupid that they were cut like that.
Additionally, a lot of shows don't have a lot of promo or merch being released, which is a huge problem. My friend was hard pressed to find ANYTHING Wednesday-related to give me for my birthday last year. Like, one of Netflix's biggest shows to date has almost ZERO merch, and if it does it's super hard to find? Like, how does that make sense if you want your show to make you money?
Just look at Dungeon Meshi. They're releasing knives, cutting boards, coasters, they got FARCILLE WINE for god's sake! And this could just be a Japan thing, but, hey, if it's working (which I think it is) Hollywood should really take some notes. People WANT to spend their money on merch for a show they like, they should be given ample opportunities to do so. I'm sure there are dozens of things Netflix could sell for Wednesday, not including funko pops.
I sincerely hope that Hollywood gets their heads out of their asses and realize that the original TV format was never broken, and is probably as perfect as we're ever going to get for episodic, WEEKLY, series, and restores TV to what it was before.
Don't worry about rambling, I literally just did the same. I'm glad there are other people out there frustrated with how these studios are releasing their content. As someone who went to school for film and television it's really frustrating seeing what creatives are going through and dealing with right now. It's not a good time.
Okay, but would everyone prefer it if Netflix releases Wednesday on a weekly basis like I'm seeing them do with other shows?
Like, it would be so nice to discuss each episode and pick out clues and over-analyze and scream over character interactions. It'll make the fandom stronger, keep people coming BACK to Netflix for however many weeks, and promote the show because people keep talking about it.
Idk, maybe I'm just getting old but I would much prefer one episode at a time so I'm not pressured into binging it and missing a bunch of stuff a lot of people worked really hard on, just to participate in the fandom.
Has Netflix even specified how Wednesday's being released?

I still feel that way a lot, but I'm slowly overcoming that fear. I think I've just reached a point where I want to interact with fandom directly, and I think posting fanfic has helped me step on that path.
Be brave! You got this.
Nah, I'm kicking my feet, giggling, and blushing. The wenclair fandom is too sweet. Love being a fandom and a ship with minimal negativity and genuinely kind people. You don't get that everywhere and I'm glad it's stayed so positive almost two years since the show's release.

wenclair headcanons:
when Wednesday first started falling for enid, she had a vision of a date they were on. Usually, her visions would be bad things, but Wednesday finds good things bad
everyday before they leave the dorm, Enid kisses Wednesday's forehead while Wednesday kisses Enid's palm/knuckles
their first 2 dances as a married couple were Clair de lune picked by Wednesday and little things picked by enid
Yoko found out about them when Enid forgot to wipe Wednesday's lipstick off of her face before coming over for a girl's night
they've both gotten in trouble during class for zoning out and staring at one another
Wednesday stopped worrying about becoming her mother after she caught herself singing lyrics of a Spanish love song to enid while dancing something her father did to her mother all of the time
Wednesday has sensory issues about washing her hair when Enid realized this she started helping Wednesday wash her hair
Wednesday absolutely loves watching enid do her makeup she'll just stare in awe the entire time this is when Enid feels the most beautiful
Enid has a bad habit of forgetting to take her meds Wednesday eventually picks up on this and helps her take them every morning
Enid loves spinning Wednesday when they hug like in Disney movies because she is a firm believer in treating her like a princess
no matter how much Wednesday doesn't want to admit it Enid's cheesy dad jokes make her laugh
Enid's hands are basically glued to Wednesday's hip when they aren't holding hands

Enid Sinclair is warm enough to presumably start fires so if her friends ever get a bit too cold while she’s with them their immediate reaction is to hug Enid or to touch her somehow because she’s like their personal heater
(Thank you for coming to my TedTalk)

see writing is funny because sometimes you have to google things like “can the human body survive with every rib broken” and other times you have to google things like “is there an ikea in manhattan???”
