Guys. Guys. The dream I just had.

It was set during the early manga timeline so Yami Yugi was in full Shadow Game mode, and to punish some dudes who were gamblers they played a game where you'd drop an object on some numbered tiles and get paid accordingly but the bigger the bet the more you could lose; Yugi landed on a 0 on purpose and the guy paid his buddy to drop out of the game in exchange for borrowing something big and heavy, but when he dropped it the tile flipped over and showed a skull, so punishment was in order.

After that, Pegasus showed up early. Way early. Like, Cecelia was still alive early (and she had a job as an animator!), but Pegasus still had the Millennium Eye for some reason. They had an OC daughter named Heather, too, who reminded me of Serenity in that she was kinda shy. Pegasus knew of the Yugis and worked to nip potential problems in the bud by suppressing regular Yugi--my dream-self 'was' Yami Yugi and I couldn't tell if he was alive or dead, which was distressing--and taking the amnesiac ghost under his wing as a mentee, using rewards and punishment where 'necessary'. This influenced the Yugis' soul rooms dramatically where one Pegasus was wreathed in fire, like a phoenix, and another Pegasus was cloaked in shadows as he pondered whether to trust him--IIRC Pegasus also had the Millennium Key from Shadi so some soul room redecoration may have been in order.

THEN...It turned out because the guy in the first Shadow Game had technically bought an item off his partner before taking his turn, the shadows saw the game as unfairly won and were gonna kill Yami Yugi in, like, 30 seconds if not satiated somehow. I remember Scott Irvine of KaibaCorp was there somehow and was patching Yugi up when his arm was badly scratched up when he noticed an irregular heartbeat.

THEN... it turned out THAT was all the plan of Yami Bakura, who'd decided to 'clear the board' of pieces and was working on a Shadow Game puzzle to bring back Zorc...but the last thing I remember before waking up was Ryou, dragging himself around the room while clutching a bleeding arm, saying stuff like 'It's mine!' (presumably referring to the body) and 'I'll fight you alone if I have to!'

There was also a subplot about Pegasus going after Dartz and his Leviathan early and failing so he had to find another way to win (maybe that's why he recruited Yugi?), and Bonz being kicked out of Duelist Kingdom for using illegal cards. I don't know why the latter was important but there ya go. XD
