Ok so...

All the newsies clearly have to be good with numbers because they're literal children surviving and making all their financial decisions pretty much alone, and they also will have an absurd amount of knowledge about current events due to it being their actual livelihood to do so, as well as being from a combination of different cultural backgrounds providing even more knowledge and understanding, and that's not even taking into account the fact that at least some of them would have had some schooling in the past and the fact that learning does not have to happen in a school environment.

In conclusion, stop writing the newsies as if they're stupid. Your classism is showing.

well you know what? i’m just going to yell about david jacobs and y’all can listen or not

so i was listening to KONY and. just his one line. “a regular beat[/editors desk] for The Star reporter.” like in that single line you can see how much he’s grown as a character and how much more comfortable he is with the newsies.

remember that introduction scene? remember how davey acted, how he was uptight and obviously uncomfortable and out of his element there? and this is just looking at that one line. it’s obvious how much more comfortable he is surrounded by the newsies than he was before.

and not to mention watch what happens reprise? like sure everyone talks about it but?? it’s just incredible how much he comes out of his shell and how much more open and comfortable he becomes, and then we see him in once and for all and the finale and it’s amazing?

i am aware that davey’s character development was a lot more prevalent in the ‘92 movie and that��s probably one of the only things i like better in the movie, but it’s a really big thing for me as davey is probably my favorite character and i just really love how much he develops
