A possible hiatus? Afraid so.
(Hy-Hyaaa~ My muse may or may not be strong, though, from what I’ve been checking on here from time to another, nothing really happened that much, and the whole called-so fandom seemed to die slower and slower. Times aren’t same anymore. I was hoping to come back as soon as I was done entirely with school but couldn’t find my motivation to bring some random activity up. I’ve sorta lost my interest in furthering my plots, considering that some of my RP partners may not return anymore or too hard to interact regularly. And I kind’of find it pointless to make random drabbles too. Not to mention I’ve forgot about Charles’s birthday and all, or that cuz everyone was too depressed thanks to his mother’s critical condition blah.
I am terribly sorry for everything. Dropping threads in mid-process was never my intention. However, untill when someone is ready for a serious thread, it’s been long fun as heck while it lasted! Thanks for loving this young version of Uncle Chuck~ Absolutely appreciated~ <3 What’s more I really can’t promise when I will be back to full activity.
On other note, I’m more active on organicmetalseries)

“Everyone knows, except members of my Distant Past Zone. I’ve met once or twice Zonic, either Zelias, who already had evidences of me and my recent activities, even without my realization. Having Zone Cops discovering your illegal doings would be last thing you needed after all. A sweet resort. Surely, they might not be around but I’ve heard that they’re quite capable of monitoring on large scales. Whatever, but Zone Hopping or not, it still feels so real and you can’t deny that whole thing!”
“Now, now, tell me the heeeeeell what’s your idea! Unless if it’s Power Ring, I have no choice but decline this!” He couldn’t help but feel a bit irritated now that he dared imitated other Chuck’s classic curse.
-
The four eyed Hedgehog already had an idea for what they could do. But considering just the kinds of things that could cause he figured it’d be the last resort.
“…Who the hell told you that? Even if there are rules I think it’s a bit too late for me to worry about breaking them, I already know how one future plays out in detail. And it’s not time travel, it’s Zone Hopping, completely different.”

Charles nodded as soon as they started walking, departing from his own home. Oddly, for the entire period, Charles said no word at all. Maybe he just preferred silence? It only took them a few moments till they reached the destination, actually her home. Then they skipped their pace to a stop when they were infront of house.
“There. Have a wonderful evening, Rosie. And do not hesitate call me out if you see Dylan again.” That’s all he could speak up, finally. Perhaps a little awkward for him and her who had just stepped down, degrading themselves from the most important level of relationship.
There is a light knock on Chucks door. On the other side is a nervous looking woodchuck. (glimpseofthepastwoodchuck)
“Hold on! I’m coming right now!” There was a familiar loud voice behind this door. Once he finally opened he drew up an intense surprised expression, not believing his eyes at what he had just saw.
“….. R-Rosie?”

Charles merely nodded. “Alright, gimme a sec to grab my coat.”
Within a minute, they soon exited the house, inspecting the area. “Hmm, this street seems clear.” Charles shook his head a little convinced as he looked around, while the snowflakes kept landing softly on him. Despite being tensed up he couldn’t help but think about that mysterious guy.

“I’m used to hard times so I will be fine, no worries. But outside is getting a lot darker and I don’t think that’d be a good idea, unless Dylan might be still around? I could start a check-up.” suggested Charles, trying to ignore the butterflies in stomach. He hoped so bad that a moment like that wouldn’t end up so sudden.

“... Which solution you’re speaking of?” inquired Charles, sorta a bit suspicious. “... You do realize that interfering with other zones is against time travel rules no matter how bad you wanna help out, right?”
-
“It’s a problem. Every problem has a solution. If not in this Zone or mine than in another, if not then we’ll just have to make one ourselves. It’s late stage I’m guessing, so what? As smart as we are if we put our heads together I’m sure we can find a way.”

Needless to ask, Charles was taken back a bit surprised by that as his heartbeat skipped to an emotional pace. That.... That was the first hug in sign of comfort once in a while. Instead of pulling away, Charles remained in same position even if he didn’t have courage to embrace back. Despite being not together anymore, it meant a lot to him. For a moment he felt like tearing up though it wasn’t right time for that, not infront of her or else he’d embarrass himself. Maybe that because she was just a great friend? Not a lover? Oh, Chaos. Slowly, he felt his old self returning to its place, the happiness given by the other powerfully melting his bitterness little by little.
“.... T-Thanks, I suppose....” A soft, but slight shaky sigh escaped him. “... If you really need to go home, I can guide you though. I don’t want your cousin to worry too much.”

Wait, what? A solution? This had just killed his panicky mood. Bringing his gloved up close to his face, Charles massaged his eyes like as if everything was just nothing but a dream.
“Listen, Chuck.... My mother has liver cancer. I’ve already told you many times that.... That there’s no cure for that! Technically, there’d be a safe way, but it’s already too late for that. Mom had not been diagnosed nor accepted any early treatments untill only a few months ago.” explained the hedgehog, feeling the irritation raising.
-
“Trying to think of a way to help you and your mom out, duh. And I don’t give a damn who finds me out there, I have more important things to worry about. Now are you just going to sit there and give up or are you going to help me find a solution?”

“Sorta okay, I think. Trying so hard not to learn everything by rote.” He merely chuckled. “Actually, the college life is getting in my way more and more, limiting my time for adventures. However, since I became sophomore, I’ve gotten a chance to opt classes I’ve always been dying for, which is totally neat. Not to mention piloting.” answered Charles looking up.
“On other hand, I hope you’re doing good with that too.”
-
She shrugged
“How’s college?”
Kind of the only thing she could think of to be honest. Unless Chuck had some other question he wanted to ask it was all she got

A hour passed and everything seemed like eternal. That was untill other Chuck would hear the door slightly cracking to an open. Rubbing his eyes, he looked around untill he noticed someone sitting nearby. Squinting his eyes, he immediately realized who was that hedgehog when he did assume at first it was his father which not really.
“... C-Chuck?! What the hell are you doing outside! .... What if my father found you?!” yelled Charles hurriedly, obviously panicking.
Talking didn’t seem like it was going to do much good now. Letting out a sigh he left the room as quietly as he could to give the other some space and time alone. Finding a place to sit he just kept on thinking quietly to himself, not really caring if a member of his alternate’s family caught him or not. He was too busy trying to figure out a way to save Chuck’s mother but it was hard not knowing the cause.

“I see...” Kind of since she didn’t push details into that though he wasn’t sure what exactly happened to her family but he’d rather not question if she wasn’t comfortable too. Must be so hard to imagine what’s like living without having her family. He couldn’t agree at all anymore.
“..... Is there anything else you’d like to talk about? It’s okay if we can drop that current topic.” suggested Charles.
-
“No it’s fine, it’s just….”
She paused for a moment wondering if she would say anything.
“It’s pretty bad actually, I don’t want to bring you down and stuff.”
She had gotten over the death of her loved ones it didn’t bother her as much when it was brought up

Thus, this immediately made Charles regret for bringing up that subject. Then again, that sorta proved that nobody is perfect in world, right?
“Far from perfect? I am sorry to hear that, I really didn’t mean.... “ After his attempt to apologize, he wasn’t a bit sure if he should continue this already opened family topic or not, considering how much it can be affecting both delicate lives of theirs. Admittedly, although he never wanted to talk about that, he didn’t think that it’d stimulate him to feel better little by little. At least, no matter how long the talk lasted, it did work, hopefully.
-
The topic of her family caused her to pause. She wasn’t sure what to say at the moment, but shook her head
“It’s pretty far from perfect”
It was disastrous….Chuck would find out when he’s older and that bothered her now that the subject of her family was brought

Proceeding a brief rub on his ear, Charles causally looked up at the other.
“Basing on my judgement, I bet you have a perfect family life...” ... Or maybe it wasn’t just the moment for that? C’mon... It wouldn’t do any harm, would it? Now that he started he began to wonder himself. He once recalled her place, back in Prime Zone, but never caught a glimpse of her mother, nor her father. Unless they could’ve met their as same fate as his own alternate’s parents?
-
“I understand”
Nobody wants to talk about things like that. It’s sad knowing that someone you care for may end up dying. She wondered if chemotherapy was available here and if it would work against Liver Cancer. Maybe she would have to find out later.

He made a wave at her response. “It’s fine, Hope. Not your fault that you never knew.” said Charles reassuring her.
“And well. From what my father told me earlier, it’s known that she has kind of liver cancer, I think. And it’s sorta incurable.” replied the hedgehog, slightly fidgeting. “I’d rather not talk about that further.”
-
She listened to what caused his moody behavior. His mother was dying?
“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that”
She felt bad for the other. He must of really cared for her if he reacted that way.
“Do you know what she has?” She asked

Giving a small sigh, he continued as low as he could.
“There’s so many reasons triggering my strange behavior as of late, but only a main reason fits the best. Well, you see.” Then he inhaled quietly. “My mother’s been having sort of deadly disease for a while and she is slowly dying as well.” With that he sighed, folding his hands while his both elbows resting on his knees. “Now you know that.”
-
She had a feeling, she won’t pry. She was curious as to why he wanted to talk quietly
“Oh, uh sure I guess. Something you need to talk about?” She asked

Charles tensed up slightly but relaxed soon. Before they’d continue further, he sat down on the edge of bed, somewhat fidgeting a little. “... Yes, you guessed right. Mostly my family.”
“But- Uh, how about we speak in a low voice?” pointed the hedgehog out, moving his hand upward and downward. “It’s quite sensible and complicated, so I’d rather not have my lil’ bro’ eavesdrop us, behind this door.”
-
She stepped in and took a seat on a nearby chair.
“Oh, don’t worry about it. I assumed it had something to do with family so it wasn’t my business.”
That still made her curious about what really happened. She wanted to ask, but was afraid to do so.
