Quick question: does Chisa Yukizome exist in this au? Since she exists in the future foundation’s intelligence division, I could see her having a crucial role in capturing Kyoko and the other hard to find remnants.

she definitely does exist! I do want to show her in the fic since she was investigating into the events of the whole kamukura project. She plays a part in capturing kyoko and I do plan on showing that in the timeskip. Her involvement in the capturing of kyoko as well as the events of sdr2 do cause a bit of drama in the future foundation that I'm not sure if I will show in this fic or adress in a one shot

Though speaking of the news, I just got a nice idea while thinking about it. If I remember correctly in udg the news worked at first but then they got suprised by a bunch of robo monokumas and then the place was empty. I can imagine in my au, pretty much the same would happen except one of the remnants would later on claim the place for their own and use it to broadcast some of their messages. You would think it would be kiyotaka with his resistance but no it's actually leon who makes a little game show over catching future foundation members and offering (stolen) money to anyone who snitches

Depends on if you want it to! My fic overall will be kept shipping neutral so that anyone could read it but shipping headcanons are completely fine to do!

I wonder if Toko wrote Class 77's executions in this AU similar to how in canon Kazuichi built Class 78's executions.

Honestly that's a really good idea that I didn't think of! I will definitely incorporate that.

Considering how her way of spreading despair is through literature, I can definitely imagine that she would write ideas and plans for their executions.

Those would be different from the sdr2 executions though, because those would be too crazy to even work in hopes peak. Nuking teruteru into a volcano or sending mikan into space with a giant arm rocket wouldn't work jklfjdkfkfjch

How old exactly are the remnants?

Since I see hopes peak academy as a college, my estimates of their age around the time of thh would be that they are around the age of 21-22.

Except yasuhiro, he's probably around 25 since he had to repeat some years.

I think makoto mentioned at the beginning of the game that you had to have visited highschool but it's not exactly clear if you have to be in highschool or already graduated. But for me personally it makes more sense to see it as a college

Honestly the chance of actually stumbling upon one of the remnants is low. Unless you happen to be at the wrong place during the wrong time. Most of them spread to various parts of Japan, some like celestia or byakuya aren't even in japan. So the only crazy guys you would have to worry about are the citizen who succumbed to despair

How did junko make the class to monsters? Like I know she broke down their spirits and convinced them to join her but that wouldn't be enough to actually make them to killers, right?

That's a good question!

How she actually did it is not determined/up for interpretation.

My fics solely focus on how she made each of her classmates join her plan. How she actually made them into killers that lust after despair is not what I will write about.

But I can give some of my thoughts as to how she could have done that.

Think about her little "organisation" as a cult. She gets people to join her little cult through whatever means and then influences their view on certain things after they are in. She keeps a close eye on anyone that's in her little cult and make sure they are not only emotionally invested but also that they won't get doubts and try to leave.

Remember that each of the remnants are not in a good emotional state when junko asks them to join her. Being in a vulnerable state makes it for junko all the more easier to tell her views and convince someone of her views.

Basically she manipulates them even long after they are already in and makes sure they start to share her ideals
