I wanted to draw the moment when Eda realised she was in love.I imagine they're on a trip to the human world, at a beach, it's sunset, they're playing a mellow tune and Eda sees the setting sun glint golden off their hair...

Ooh, found this in the Around the World in 80 Days tag - are you saying he's got the villain vibe going there as well? 👀👀👀

only DT fans will understand me here but I LOVE that David has a distinct look when he's a villain. there's just a very specific expression that he has, the demeanour. when he's a villain. you can just SENSE it. the look in his eyes. you don't see it with his non-villain characters. if anyone else actually knows what I mean here then GOOD, I can't find any photo evidence at the moment but DT fans please tell me you know what I'm getting at here 😭

Pirate Eda cosplay

My first Eda cosplay - of course I had to start with the pirate outfit 💖

Here's how I made the "hat" and how I pinned a petticoat to the back of my belt to make the coat flare out:

The "hat" is a felt circle with a hole in it that I pinched in on the sides with 2 safety pins that I connected to each other with a doily so that it bulges out in the front and back (the Φ shape) , and also pinned in the front and back to make the little dips on top. Then put feathers through one of the pins.

So happy with this wig! I'll continue working on it, adding white streaks and more volume etc, but I think it already looks ok with just 1 extra wig in pigtails underneath for volume!

Hello, I just finished Princess Floralinda and I would love to know what you mean by "reading this book made me realize more why she wrote gtn and htn all [gestures] like that..."

The development of the relationship reminded me of a speedrun of one of the many codependent relationships in TLT, and maybe helped me understand Ianthe and Corona a bit better, but I'd love to know if it illuminates TLT in any other way.

i read princess floralinda and the 40 flight tower : first off FUCK THE TUMBLR POST that made me mistakenly believe this book had cannibalism in it. i am mournful to say that it did not.

despite this i enjoyed it a stupid amount and i think its a very entertaining read, especially if you share tazs sense of humor or like the variation in narrative styles throughout tlt. actually i think reading this book made me realize more why she wrote gtn and htn all [gestures] like that... tlt definitely has a larger number of memes but the way princess floralinda is written reminds me a lot of the original character-based humor you can see in gideons speech and just the general situational hilarity of things. i also think her take on a princess story is really delightful and sweet! and i didnt expect that amorphous, ambiguous kind of romance in it. its also very much like tlt in the manner that love is slowly present between the cracks in the story, but with tlt love IS the point of everything while in floralinda the love is a sickly ironic kind of development. it was like if stockholm syndrome was entertaining. A+.

i would recommend this mainly if you 1) liked mercymorn in htn 2) appreciate a good character development coming from a dumb princess, and 3) again, share that similar sense of horrific fucking humor taz has:

That's awesome! Here are some ideas:

After the ending, the 3 of them (or just Phileas) go back to Italy and take Alberto (the Italian boy they met on the train in Episode 2) on a balloon ride, like in Episode 1. Alberto is a huge fan of Jules Verne, so I imagine him being full of wonder and the rest of them being infected with his wonder.

Alternatively, someone mentioned in a fanfic that Phileas and Alberto became penpals after the ending, so it would be touching to see Phileas and Alberto on a background that looks like a handwritten letter, both in "writing a letter" poses, or maybe one of them in a "writing"pose and the other in a "happily opening a letter he just received" pose.

Since the second section was supposed to be based on "80000 leagues under the sea", I'd love to see the 3 of them (or just Phileas) on board the Nautilus - maybe looking out of a small round window at fish swimming by? (Bonus if you include my headcanon that Aouda should be Captain Nemo, because she fits the profile of an older powerful Indian leader ^^)

I love the idea of them in a pirate AU!

There's a modern AU where Abigail runs a tattoo parlour, Phileas a music store (he's into math rock) and Jean a coffee shop. The high point is when Abigail covers up Phileas's old "LOSER" tattoo (he haf lost a bet with Bellamy) to read "LOVER" (the meaning of his name) (yes this is stolen from Steven King)

there's also a heartwarming description of how they celebrate Christmas

there's also a modern AU where they are all different kinds of fan of Verne's original ATWI80D book (like, the series is Abigail's massive self-insert fanfic about herself and her friends in which she accidentally doxxes Phileas 😂)

And finally, I love @ofpineapplesanddawns 's older Phileas design with longer hair and glasses - this could be a prompt on its own or combined with any of the other prompts ^^

Raeda wedding dance (sorry for reposting, wrong account)

Wouldn't it be really cute if at their wedding Raine and Eda did the same adorable fistbump/dance/secret handshake thing as they did when they first met in "Them's the Breaks, Kid"?ImageSo much has changed, Eda has lost a hand, but they can still use her hook for twirling...🥺

Raine's outfit is inspired by British 1830s men's coats (for no particular reason other than how similar the silhouettes were to womenswear) and Eda's by Russian fairy tale prince outfits (because she's inspired by Baba Yaga). Except with skirts because she loves skirts with torn hems, so I gave her many layers to mutilate. I imagine her tearing up 6 skirts and 2 long sleeves with gleeful abandon. :D

Saaaame. Man, I'm reliving all of my Passepartout emotions with your liveblog.

Episode five was very good and fun and I might have proper thoughts on it later. However I find I've developed a bit of a one track mind. So despite the certainty of being repetitious, what I'd like to know is how Passepartout is going to get his apologies when Abigail and to a much greater degree Phileas only see his actions and are entirely disinterested in their contexts.

So you're saying is. In "Dramatis Personae", when Sisko failed to stop a civil war on the station because he became obsessed with building a clock... the alien mind virus only had to give him the tiniest of nudges because he's always 99,9% there?

That makes a lot of sense!

my fave thing about the sisko is how he sometimes gets that manic gleam and u can tell he’s like 0.001 away from just going completely unhinged. he is one brainswitch away from spending 2 weeks analyzing ancient bajoran cuneiform or building a life size model space sailboat and that being ALL HE DOES. he’s gonna run away to a remote planet and grow herbs for a living and teach the locals how to play baseball. but no, The World Needs Him (and jake needs him), so he always comes back, u see it in that split second, in the blink of an eye he is always making and re-making this decision. there’s a reason mirror sisko is just checked the fuck out, constantly laughing — he’s gone someplace in his brain where he won’t have to contend with the horrors of the mirror universe. benjamin sisko laughs like that sometimes; we see him slowly unhinge his brain, consider. and then we see him come back, like a boomerang, every time.

I KNOW RIGHT? Passepartout goes through SO MUCH in those episodes! And it's all in the background! Like, in the desert, after Fogg passed out, Passepartout presumably carried or dragged him through the desert to the oasis (or at least partway) and nobody mentions it, like it's a given?

So it's just. Phileas Fogg is having some bad moments, but in the big picture he's being gently buffeted through trials that boost his ego where it needs boosting and tears it down where it needs tearing the fuck down and I'm pretty sure he's having the time of his life.

Abigail is having much worse moments but she's also living out her feminist power-hour.

Passepartout. Meanwhile. Within the first few days of this funtimes trip watched his brother be shot to death and had to kill someone. Deeply traumatized man is gathering more trauma at breakneck speed. And for his pains gets told he's a weak coward every time someone bothers to notice he has much in the way of interiority at all

Raeda WIPs

Raeda wedding sketches. Left: thought it would be cute for them to dance the same dance as when they first neet in Them's the Breaks, Kid - even though Eda has a hook now, it can still be used for twirling. Right: so if exchanging earrings means you're engaged, obviously at the wedding, you'd wear each other's clothes, right? :D so that's Raine speaking their vows and Eda crying.

And here's a sketch I'm working on for an art trade with @ziggyssia - young Raeda on a beach date, Eda seeing Raine lit by the sunset and realising "oh shit, I think I'm in love?!" Tips on how to fix this greatly appreciated (Eda's head is too big and her legs too short, maybe? And Raine's legs are probably also super wrong?)
