The red light behind their visor slowly blinked on,  red dots dancing across their screen in unfamiliar shapes and forms as Zer0 ran the needed codes to reactivate their systems.  They perceived the man’s grating voice before Zer0 was able to process their surrounding.

“Alone, I ... lay here, Imprisoned by ... the cold walls, Closing in ... on me.”

Their voice came out a bit clunky and robotic at first,  slowly morphing into their regular voice once their voice module had warmed up.

Zer0,  who generally preferred going through life mute,  would normally not even have given Jack the time of day.  But the situation of their capture had them confused and disoriented.

Important Markus HC!

So not many people seem to realize that my Markus is canon-divergent in the way that he was not magically fixed after all of the damage conceived between Broken and From the Dead.

And while he often uses a hologram-based disguise to look the way he does in-game, when he feels comfortable or when you touch his scarring, his disguise will be lifted.

You can find examples of what he looks like without disguise under the cut.

If this had been the only thing wrong in the game  (which it,  unfortunately,  is not)  the game could have somewhat redeemed itself by portraying this situation as BAD.  But,  both in - game as by players,  she is generally applauded as the  ‘right - side’  of the argument.

That’s bullshit.

They should have given you  (as Markus)  the possibility to call her out on her bullshit and maybe even teach her about how things are for black people out there.

Because  (even though he’s an Android)  Markus has lived among humans for a long ass time,  so he knows.

But no,  instead we get this bullshit racist scene,  and no one learns from it!  It just gets glossed over!

yall i know i’ve defended some heinous media on this blog and that so long as you follow me you will live in the wake of kill la kill, but for real if you’re giving a shit about detroit: become human, you gotta get off this fucking blog because no amount of “but its my special interest!” is gonna change the fact that david cage wrote a scene where a white person tells a black person they deserve to be a slave and thought it was okay and acceptable

Small rant about the sudden influx of anti-Markus content under the cut.

TL;DR  Please tag your hate, because this isn’t fun for me anymore.

I’ve been just... quietly reading the people around me, following me, interacting with me, hating on Markus and it’s like... wow.  If you hate one of my muses so much  (not even specifically the way he’s written, but him)  then just... unfollow me?  Or like... please at least... tag your hate so I don’t have to see it?  At least out of respect for me.

I get it.  You don’t like him. That’s fine.  I won’t send you guys stuff involving him anymore.  Done.

It’s just so grating that a lot of plot holes that other characters get forgiven for don’t get forgiven when it comes to Markus and I’m just... side-eyeing it.  Everyone is shittily written, we’re here to just... have fun with their potential.

And I know the people doing it on my dash and they are good people, so I’m not going to ‘pull the race card’ but what I do want to say about it is that, for someone who looks at Markus as a character very uplifting to him  (as he’s a POC who came from ‘nowhere’ and ended up a respected leader to a successful rebellion)  it’s shitty to hear people saying he ‘doesn’t deserve’ the place he fought for. 

Yes, it could’ve been written better.  But the entire game could have.  Don’t take this away from us.

“A-Ah…”  he smiled at her almost shyly, cheeks coloring a hint of blue as he rubbed the back of his neck  “I suppose I wasn’t as mysterious as I was trying to be … I love you, Tina.”

TL;DR  Nothing was inherently wrong with Lucas’ programming until he met a colleague named ‘Anton Sanders’ who chose him as his new partner and gave him his name.  Over-time they gained a father/son-like bond.

Sanders struggles with a lot of mental problems that eventually lead to his suicide.  Lucas was present when it happened, but was specifically orderer not to do anything.

He has been seeing the walls ever since, but never broken them.

I don’t think I can do the pure unadulterated anguish he felt when it happened justice when I actually write it out, but under the cut you will find a  (somewhat)  detailed description of what happened to bring Lucas in the state between Machine and Deviant that he has been in for years now and what lead up to it.

Markus let out a soft laugh when Connor complimented his beauty, still having a hard time believing him, but not flat out denying it anymore. It was progress, at least.

Once they finally had Connor's shirt off and he noticed the other working on his belt, Markus hastily started undoing his own as well.  He wasn't quite done completely undoing his pants yet when Connor pulled him flush against him. 

A soft noise rumbled up from deep within his chest upon contact and he could feel his synthetic skin giving way, showing off all of his weaknesses and imperfections.

His words send an insistent warmth straight down to his groin and made his face color a slight blue tint under his cheekbones.  

“Connor,” he groaned  “You better turn those words into actions soon.”  Markus grinned up at him, but his expression broke as the other made him moan with that bite.

Markus reached for Connor, tangling a hand in his dark hair to pull him closer.

His artificial skin retreated, revealing the stark white paneling where Connor bit.  He exhaled shakily, craning his head to the side to reveal more of his neck to him.

Markus was not used to being able to lower his guard like this, with so many people relying on him, he could not afford to relax. But when he was with Connor – he didn't have to think of that. Just for the moment.

The irony of the man that had once been send to kill him being the only one to be able to offer him such release was not lost on him.  Markus thought it was almost poetic.

“Please,”  he breathed, his hips instinctively rolling forwards to press himself against that hand between his legs.  Another shivering breath leaves him.  

When the hand moves away and goes to the hem of his shirt, Markus joins it to take it off and starts eagerly helping Connor with the buttons of his shirt once his own is disregarded.

“We have not been free from Ma– our former... owner for long.”  Henry caught himself just in time, his LED softly spinning red at the thought that he had almost referred to the man as 'Master Zlatko' out of habit  “He did not treat us well.”

And it showed. Most of Henry's synthetic skin had been permanently deactivated thanks to damaging, white polygon plating peeled away expertly to show the black and blue construct and intricate wiring underneath. Some of the wiring had been ripped apart and haphazardly put back together.

“I don't know what human affection would even feel like.”  he admit, feeling somewhat ashamed of it.

“Why would you think I want to hurt you?” Isles backed away from him a bit. “Did I come on too strong? I’m sorry. I’m still trying to get used to how to act around androids.”

She gave him a small smile. “You don’t have to say yes or let me if you don’t want to.”

"Hmm... small kiss maybe?"

Henry observes her as she showsherself to him, a little more unsure upon realizing she ishuman and wearing a uniform.  The last time they hadran into human in uniform members of his family had gottenhurt  (some shot, some taken away to camps,others… killed)  and it took Henry on-guard.

“You – do not want to hurtme?”  he questioned, sounding genuinely surprised.

“U–Uh–”  his vocal processors stuttered and glitched slightly as hit LEDcycled red, then slowly turned to a pink-ish huethat it had never been before  “T–That depends onwho’s asking…”

“You l–love??”  There’s confusion first, his LED cycling red,but it soon returns to a calming blue as a softsmile stretches along his facial features.  “Thank you.You are the first person to – Just – Thank you.”
