In one of the unlucky but, simultaneously, insanely lucky (timewise) situations, I spilled some liquid on my laptop and, now, half the keys don't work.

The upside is that this happened after all the necessary forms and stuff for this job have been filled out and done. I've still got to get fingerprinted but I don't need to bring my laptop in, for that.

It's an Elitebook so I may just see if I can buy a replacement keyboard and replace it, myself.

I had this model in…I think, grad. school? Maybe right after I graduated; motherboard went out after three years (right when the warranty expired but I should've pushed more to see if I could get it replaced, that way) but, otherwise, really solid.

It's older but a lot of the parts are replaceable; I'd just been hoping to test my theory that I'd get further mileage out of this older model laptop much…later than less than a year after I bought it.

Oh, well; replacement keyboard's only $35. I'll try and see if that fixes things.

Update: may've, finally, gotten a job but it requires a Public Trust.

That, likely, won't be a problem but I've also got to get my fingerprints taken and photo for a PIV.

Had one scheduled for today; didn't get any sleep, though I tried, but made it on time and everything.

Only to be informed that their system wasn't properly up and running (and I wasn't informed because I scheduled this over the weekend; feels like something you should probably be able to input into the scheduling website to inform people non-manually).

Tells me he'll send me an E-mail detailing this info. so I can show the appropriate people.

This is due by EOD tomorrow. I E-mailed my contact and all relevant people this morning, after it happened.

No response, yet. Considering the multiple warnings about the importance of meeting the deadline, you would think someone would care?

Hasn't helped that all of my E-mails for the last week went unanswered because, apparently, my E-mail (a GMail domain, I might add) keeps being sent to their Spam folders and, apparently, their E-mail provider hasn't offered a means to mark things as Not Spam or they don't find it prudent to check that after giving people a strict deadline of 5 business days.
