Ok. So first of all Kamal Hassan and Mani Ratnam and A R Rahman is going to be special. And then … finding out that Trisha, Jayam Ravi and Dulquer Salmaan are IN THE SAME MOVIE! (Ponniyin Selvan and Kundavai reunited!) (Not loving the name though - “Thug Life” - unless it’s a story about Thuggees - would be a “no, please reconsider”). But the trailer is pretty impressive!

And also I’m cracking up because last time we podcasted, I told @thirst4light that it was rumored DQ, Ravi and Trisha would be in this film but then I sort of forgot about it until she texted me this morning and told me. Haha! My internet stalking skills are better than I thought ;))

Also me idly wondering how long it would take me to watch all of Kamal Hassan’s movies since this one is #234 (!!!!) Maybe I’ll just watch Nayagan. The last one he did with Mani Ratnam THIRTY-SIX years ago.

Watching and rewatching Not ramaiya vastavaiya made me realise how good were srk and nayanthara as a couple too. You could see the romance in those snippets of the song.

They only needed a bit more screentime to establish their love story but really, there really wasn't much time for everything.

What I want to say is that they should do more works together in future 🤗

literally my biggest and only real complaint about jawan is how we got the azad gen calling the vikram gen "uncles" for comedy but we didn't get sujji calling vikram "dadu" like HI HELLO WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO ME???

ik vikram was the coolest and all but y'all really need to put some respect on my man azad's name he really hijacked a train full of people and shot a random woman after telling a cop to imagine that was his mother and then right after he manages to get the ransom he demanded goes and accepts an award from the united nations

no but I just thought that azad presented himself as elder not to hide his identity but to see what his father would look like if he was alive and what would be the expression on his face when his son proves his innocence and made myself sad before sleeping

Can't stop thinking about the fight scene between Azad and Narmada. The way she gets off the helicopter, the way she hits out at him and all he does is dodge and defend. The way she follows him on that jump and almost gets him. Their body language, both familiar but also so new cause they're due to get married the next day! Everything about Azad and Narmada's interactions is so wonderfully 2000sSRK.

Was too much biased with srk to not mention about the WOMEN of the movie.

They were fantastic, each and every one of them. I'd have actually wanted to see more of them. They all had a character that was not objectified, I mean in my limited South Indian movie journey, women are not given substance most of the time. And that's not what happened here and I loved it.

Also a single mother and a superior officer having a genuine (emotionally I do believe Azad and Narmada matched very well) relationship. That's a man.

God I love men when they love and celebrate women too.

Thinking about Vikram Rathore and his wife Aishwarya being that hot killer couple. Why are they so hot these days????

And also the super cool Narmada and her fumbling husband Azad (he's cool otherwise but he's a mess in front of her). Them with Suji would be a chaotic family actually.

Also Vikram with Suji. That's a whole different line of chaos I want to see.

What a great trailer!! Personally, I was scared a bit while watching it. Looks like a gruesome, gritty thriller which makes me all the more excited! The cast is superb- Rahul Bose as the serial killer? Did not expect that!! I think we are all in for a treat! <3

Kannala Kannala X Chaleya

To celebrate the announcement of Thani Oruvan 2 and Jawan releasing next week, I decided to draw a comparison post. Am I the only one who jumped up in joy when I first saw the song 'Chaleya' from Jawan where Nayanthara was in a similar dress from her Thani Oruvan song 'Kannala Kannala'? The resemblance is uncanny (see for yourself!)

Btw, both songs are absolutely amazing!
