Ranking F1 teams based on their photography skills

The only bragging rights I have is that I am a fine art student and photography is a million times harder than everybody thinks it is, this includes knowing your lighting and editing afterwards. We go from best to worst!

1. Mercedes

They genuinely know what they’re doing. Like their lighting is always fucking great, studio or outside they really know it! They never over edit their pictures, just the needed touch up and some colour correcting. They also know how to work with coloured lighting and play in editing in ways I feel like other teams lack a lot.

2. McLaren

Really between McLaren and Aston on the same place but I’m giving it to McLaren because their creativity it’s great. Like they also do amazing studio photography and I am a sucker for how they use their coloured lighting. Not all pictures are as good as the others but the overwhelming majority is!

3. Aston Martin

They have a dark vibe going on which really goes well with their colours. Sometimes it’s too dark but I really love the mysterious look and how well it goes with the green. Found some orange skin tone pics so minus points for that

4. Red bull

Solely because they have Vlad as a team photographer, if he wasn’t there they would be way down on the list. That man single handed saves their entire photography existence. Anyway yeah I just really love his artistic styles and the way he captures people, the rest of the photos are very mediocre. (Also I do like their evening pictures tho, they know how to work the dark)

5. Haas

Actually surprisingly their photography is quite good, they know what to do and I do like some of the filters they add. We do no speak about their videos though, because of that blue lighting/filter alone they would be on the bottom of the list.

6. Alfa Romeo

In contrary to Ferrari Alfa do know how to work their red! But some of the pictures are way too light and overshadowed by white. I do like how they work their colours tho!

7. Alpha Tauri

I know you’re probably wondering why so low but I truly do not enjoy it. Like their ideas are quite creative but it’s often too white or just so bland it’s not even attractive??? Like do you see Yuki’s skin in that picture? Hell fucking no man.

8. Williams

It truly pains me putting them here but, they don’t always know their lighting, the pictures are over horribly sharp, like they’ve turned it all up. Pls don’t ever do that it makes your pictures look weird. And we’ll the Alex pictures is just not okay, the lighting is gross and the colour saturation is all the way down. But then on the other hand quite some pictures are nice just yeah, they deserve a lot better.

9. Alpine

Yeah not that much of a fan like most pictures are way too orange, there are some good ones but no.

10. Ferarri

I feel like they did not go with everybody in terms of social media. I haven’t even selected the worst ones because I know they exist but the over saturation just fucks with me so so so bad. The photography is quite good in terms of composition but the afterwards editing is what ruins it every time and it’s just so not necessary.
