Poolverine weapon cleaning???? I hope this counts as domestic

People often assume since the blades retract into his forearm and are made of adamantium, Logan doesn’t need to clean them. Logan wishes the people were right.

In reality, having the blood, guts, and other various viscera (ooh alliteration) or fluids being sucked back into a flesh channel that needs to be regularly re-pierced open like the worlds shittiest piercing is gross. Logan doesn’t have very high standards for sanitation, but the feeling of having another person inside you in a not fun and sexy way via organ mush in forearm is decidedly one of the worst feelings he’s had the honor of experiencing. Although adamantium may be resistant to rust and corrosion, Logan still is in the habit of maintaining the blades, sort of like a regular person has a skincare routine. So, he regularly cleans his claws after missions, taking time to wipe down each one carefully (which is harder than you would expect, cleaning dried up dead stuff).

The first time Wade sees him doing this, he obviously teases Logan about grooming his paws like a kitty cat (this leads to Logan having to re-clean his blades after running a certain loudmouth through with them). But Wade understands the man’s rituals, since outside of his katanas he needs to take care of his beloved guns too, for what is a man without an unhealthy attachment to his arsenal of illegal weapons?

After missions, you will see the two on the couch, both silent as they run through their respective care rituals for their weapons. Logan thinks this silence is unusual for Wade, but as Wade later explains to him, cleaning weapons is like a self-soothing measure after a mission to allow him to decompress and just be for a while.

Wade fondly remembers the time when some poor unfortunate soul decided to attempt to rob them, picking the lock to their front door loudly (and badly, as Wade proclaimed when the person stepped into their humble abode) only to be confronted by the sight of the two wiping down copious amounts of blood from various weapons. They even had to call and ambulance for the would be robber since the dude passed out; Wade is sympathetic to this at least, he would pass out as well if he saw the Wolverine flashing his claws at him like that. Anyways, Althea cherishes these moments since it’s the only time both of the idiots will shut up when they’re in the apartment and she can get some peace and quiet.

Logan eventually even lets Wade help him clean his claws for him when he’s not feeling up for it, but ONLY if Wade makes minimal penetration and/or kitty cat jokes.

Wow just noticed that I drew 8 (EIGHT!) Poolverine Fanarts since the beginning of this year. (It’s been 3 weeks)

I don’t remember if I ever I had drawn that much fanart in such a short time haha

And I think I really needed that.

Fandom has always been a way to cope for me and in the last weeks there had been many moments in which I thought “I should do task xy right now” but I couldn’t bring my self to do anything else then draw my favorite idiots.

And yes sure, it’s the hyperfixation but it also feels like my body and brain just needed that.

I didn’t have a lot of free time in the last 7 years, didn’t even had the time to draw one fanart before last year. And now drawing so much, just for fun, for no one else but myself felt like something my brain simply needed.

Now I really need to concentrate on other things again but I feel like I’m home from the best vacation I ever had even though I was just at home drawing what I love.

And also I wanted to thank you for all the love I got here. Wasn’t expecting that at all! But I see every comment and I love reading the tags you use when you’re reblogging my art! It makes me smile every single time :)

Does anyone else have that Problem where they just finished a drawing and think “well this was fun, let’s do it again!” And then you open a new canvas, stare at the blank page and feel like all fun just left and there’s nothing in this world that could make you draw right now?

Headcanon:

When Logan’s close his claws protract and retract with every thrust which always made it hard for him to fully relax since he never wanted to hurt anyone. But with wade it’s easy since wade has a healing factor and is also enjoying taking pain if that means his Wolvie is having a good time.

Logan still prefers not hurting him though.

i cannot stress how much i absolutely love seeing protective wade because sure logan's got natural animalistic instinct but wade?? wade wilson when someone he cares about is uncomfortable or in danger is a whole new level of protection like this man will either become an (physical/verbal) atomic bomb and go off or just be deadly silent like if looks could kill and his attention would be focused on being comforting (there's no in between and it depends on the situation)
