The Lar’g
Coming from a desert planet the Lar’g are a very resistant species but also rather hostile towards outsider. Fighting for their life and resources is common in their society and prevented the building a united government for their planet. So rather than being united by one government the Lar’g still believe in sort of a tribe system and often resort to fight against each other which thins out their population on a regular basis which ironically keeps them alive and their resources equally divide. The concept of space travel is known to them longer than the concept of fossil fueled vehicles bc eons ago a ancient races of highly advanced beings landed on their planet and build a trading point in their orbit. While this civilization is now long gone and the trading station has crashed into the plantet, this encounter might have set them back in their own development, bc the technological advances those outsiders brought into their society prevented them from furthering their own research. Instead they reverted to scavenging the remains of what the outsiders left there for parts and machinery. One might thing such an encounter would have made them more open and accepting of outside cultures but in fact after those ancient beings saw how hostile and aggressive the Lar’g were their resorted to not interact with them while still using their land, which in turn frustrated the Lar’g who saw that intrusion as means to demand this alien technology (they still stole it lol). So now every time an outsider shows their face on their planet the tribes start a race of whoever can be the first to kill the outsiders.
In terms of marking their tribe heritage they opt to have implants and visible parts of the body that either are colored stones, symbols or even metal bands that are implanted under the first layer of skin. It's not uncomen that the placement or even shape of the marking leads to fights. But other than that the Lar'g don't have much of typical clothing items partially bc their secondary breathing system prevents them from covering their upper body and partical they are very prone to overheating which makes additional clothing rather inconviniant. They don't sweat which is inconviniant when you live in a area where it tends to get extremely hot in direct daylight so they depend on their secondary breathing system not just for additional air flow into their lungs but also for cooling down their organgs by having a steady flow through their multiple wind pipes (also they are mainly aktive in twilight so that helps too). Their very swole looking feet and hands might suggest that they stors water there but those are mainly fat reservoirs bc other than most spiecies it would be highly inconviniant to store those in the other regions of the body (especially upper-body and belly) bc that would keep their organs to warm and hinder the steady usage of their secondary breathing system. However even tho those are mainly made out of fat tissue these areas aren't soft and make them able to pack a hefty punsh (if a Lar'g should ever get to human like proportions of their hand and feet they are suverly underweight and close to death) also those resovoirs have a limit and after those are filled the Lar'g will start developing neck fat and only after that start to grow a belly. The flopy head tentacles that might look like sort of hair to the unknowing eye are actually the places where they store water and distrebute it through their bodies. Those will get skinnier the more dehidrated a specimen get and in the worste case look like worms. However they can move them independatly and those things just flop a round like wet soggy thick noodles.
On to the two additions to the crew
Corena

She is actually a independent head huntress. Taking on what ever job she can find. Corena prides herself in never having failed to eliminate a target and has a rather honorable reputation around the land. But that wasn't always the case. When. She was younger she had outlook duty for her tribe and faild to inform them about a oncomming attack in time which resulted in her hiding during the attack and running away afterwards to ashamed to return to the remaining survivors of her tribe. During her time wandering around in the dessert alone she also lost her left arm and was then found by Terp a generally non violent merchant that took her in and tended to her wonds. Even tho she now grew up with him in a non violent fashion, she had the urge to make everything right and proove (mainly to herself) that she wasn't a weakling and could actually do something instead of just hiding the next time somebody attackt so she started training on her own and when she was old enough travaling around and prooving herself to anybody who would try to oppose her. Except Terp. She doesn't trust anybody but is extremely diplomatic when she finds herself between two fronts but in the end her personal gain is the most important thing to her. She doesn't approve of Terps nom violent ways and shows that to him on a regular basis but in secret she is just afraid that somebody could take him from her and that she would be left alone without nowhere to return to.
Terp

He is a happy dude... Enough said.
Pff just kidding. After his tribe and family got into an argument bc his mother had him with a member of an other tribe they got cast out a d had to live on their own in the dessert. No beeing able to depend om the mercy of others Terp and his mother took to 'mooshining' and opening a tavern and vending point in the middle of nowhere. Terp often had to wittines how his mother got assaulted and the bar ruined due to the agressive nature of their people and so he swore that he will never be like that and instead will try to bring the people comming to the small tavern in the dessert together no matter which tribe they belonged to. So he dawned a happy go lucky nature and silly behavior to distract the guests and make them laugh so that they don't even get the idea to start trouble. After his mothers death he abandoned the tavern and instead opted to be a traveling merchant selling his 'moonshine' on the road bc he felt like the loose tore him apart and he couldn't bare being the clown any longer. In the years on the road and despite his nom violent nature he had to proove himself time and time again against other violent folks that wanted to rob him for his supplies and grew into a strong and well know fighter. Nobody wanted to mess with the merchant Terp. Only after he took in Corena he setteled down again reopening a wayside tavern in hopes of giving the lill girl a violentless upbringing and to have a stable family again. He kept his reputation from her and does not wish to ever have her know that despite what he believes in he is known as serious danger throught the land. Also he adopted a Potochilla as pet even tho those things are know as vermine and are actually quite stupid. But he really apreachiates the silly charm of them and his BOB (only the best things are called Bob) really helps him keep the big smile on his face.
(Still nameless project) Character and Species master post
Soo how some might have noticed I am working on an original Idea for a comic and this will be my Character master post which I will add to whenever I got a new addition for the cast.
The premise of the story basically some aliens going on an adventure to find earth and join a supposed interplanetary peaceful conglomeration because they caught a transmission of an old cheesy and corny scifi series (ala star trek or well early Perry Rhodan when you actually know that novel series you get a free smooch from me)
The Lophorel and the Narlaha
Those are the first Species to be introduced and well the ones where the original three crew members will start off .
For demonstration purposes I include a pic of the parents of the first three bc I still need to make a general species guide for them lol

(From left to right: Shejeren, Noroph'a, Uruphija'l, Charalah I will give some short specific info about them later lol)
Both species share one planet which is the second in their solar system and has three moons orbiting around it.
The Lophorel are native to surface of the planet and usually have a skin color ranging from very light blues to dark purples. They have gem like growths on their heads which is surrounded by a skin covered bone structure which either is build like an ark or a row of lill spikes. They have pointy ears and their bigger eyes have octagonal pupils which form a cross when constricted. Usually their Iris has the same color as their gem and their Sclera is black, in rare cases there can be mutations of color tho. With their eyes they can perceive a wide array of colors and even some elektro magnetic phenomena in their environment but they are pretty much blind in low light situations. They usually wear longer hair (short hair is seen as obscene in their culture) in different braided styles. While white hair is the most common hair color in their species there are also variants of reddish browns that can occur. They aren’t very strong however but do to their legs agile and good at jumping. Height wise they can get from 1,60 m (5’ 2’’)up to 1,90 m (6’ 2’’) They are generally hermaphrodites and don’t have naval due to laying eggs. They use the terms Eren (Seedgiver) and Ophat (shellcarrier) to adresse their parents and it occurs that siblings from the same parent pair use diffrent terms for addressing the same parent. They also number their children with the last sibille of their name so for example having ‘rel’ at the end of a name means that it is the first hatched child YEP I gonne write a language guid later someday lol . While being omnivore they have developed a distaste to eating meat and as a culture live mostly vegetarian.
The Narlaha are used to live mostly under the surface of the planet and are often called Nipht by the Lophorel which is similar to calling someone and earthworm. In turn the Narlaha call the Lophorel Kar'alarf which literally means stone-head. They are significantly smaller than their surface dwelling neighbors and only get around 1,50 m (4’ 9’’). They have four arms and are significantly physically stronger. Due to their carnivore nature and history of hunting they have sharp claws and teeth and usually a very dark grey skin completion mixed with red markings which makes them blend in with their stone surroundings. Their four eyes are one tones and most of the time their eye colors range from white grayish to red. They may only see the world in reddish and green tones but they have excellent vision in dark areas. The bone structure on their head helps them sensing vibrations from their surroundings. They are more like us humans when it comes to their genders and sexualities soo no big explanation here. But they don’t really have their own names instead a family name is given from the chosen parent to the child with either a ‘lah’(born female), ‘ren’(born male), ‘len’ (born intersex) at the end depending on the biological sex they are born with. Also they tend to have brown to black hair only sometimes they mutate blond hair. Also there are albinos I’m the Species
In the history of their species they obviously didn’t get along very well most of the time so after a view wars the Lophorel sadly established a trend of enslaving the Narlaha bc the Lophorel (having the advantage of not limited airspace) were technology more advanced than the Narlaha, who due to limited space couldn’t build respected deferenses against the most of the time vibration based attacks of the Lophorel. While the violent ages of this planet are now gone both their cultures got so accustomed to the practice of slavery that there are barely any objectors on both sides of the coin. Still during the events of the story there some thing about to be changed lol.
And now off to a few words to the named characters above. They are as stated the Parents to the first three crew members of the story. Noroph'a is a rich space miner that makes his living with deploying mining ships to other planets of their solar system. They married the way less fortunate Uruphija'l due to practicality and the wish to produce taller offspring (They are a little insecure about their height). Both of them are rather strict and caught up in outdated social rules. After they conceived their first egg they bought Shejeren and Charalah bc they also were expecting a child and Noroph'a wanted their offspring to grow up with an always present play buddy bc he also grew up with a Narlaha play mate. After Charalah gave birth to a little baby daughter (Shejelah) She and her husband were kept as bodyguards for the two Lophorels while a third Narlaha took care of Shejelah and the now also hatched Ala'phrel.(Charalah and Shejeren already had a older child Chararen who at this point already worked in a diffrent household [Narlaha children get independent pretty quickly]). In general where the two Narlahas pretty happy to have landed in Noroph'a’s household because their new daughter now had the privilege to get the basics of a good high tier education together with Noroph'a’s offsprings which would mean that she could later find a home as a home preschool teacher which is considered a honorable position for a Narlaha. Noroph'a and Uruphija’l had one more child (Nirlaph) and even tho Shejeren and Charalah tried to also conceive again Shejelah stayed the only young Narlaha in the household.
On to the important peeps

(From left to right Nirlaph, Ala’phrel, Shejelah)
Growing up together the three established a strong bond and even tho it was planed to send Shejelah away as she got old enough to be sold off again Ala’phrel and Nirlaph both protested against their parents wishes and kept Shejelah around. This is partially because when they were younger and first got to have tech based toys the three of them build a simple signal receiver which accidentally lead them to catch an old transmission of a show called “Captain Jacks search through the stars” which depicted a utopian society without racism and slavery. They didn’t understand a word of what was said in the show but the depiction of different races (even tho they were suspiciously similar in general looks) working together seemingly without race hierarchy fascinated the three kids to such an extend that they from there on strived to one-day be able to meet Captain Jack and his Crew and join their ranks. They over time established a translation of the alien language and made it their own. Learned all principles which Captain Jack resided as foundation of the peaceful planets conglomeration and started studying all skills need to actually fly a space ship.
Even tho the three kids treated each other as equals the older they got the more Shejelah had to oblige to the house rules, meaning she had to adapt to the servant clothing, had to learn formal speaking rules and wasn’t allowed to speak without spoken to in general. While she did conform to those rules to some degree the suppressed aggression against them lead to her having a very strange relationship with human swear words. She really likes to sprinkling them in when she has the opportunity to speak freely. In general she seem to be a rather reserved individual (despite the swearword occasionally slipping out) but that’s just as long as she doesn’t trusts you. At times she seems to be just a tad sassy which is a way for her to handel her insecurities about her social status and her struggle to actually come forward with requests regarding herself, bringing her ideas forward or just simply saying ‘no’ to a request. It is very important to her to be able to choose her own clothing and she often will change her outfits as she sees fit just because being forced to wear a unified and dull outfit for most of her life evoked a desire of outward expression of herself in her. So even tho she dawns a version of the uniform they have seen the crew members of captain Jack wear she will take her own spin on them and proudly wears her own creations. She wears an open nose ring to honer her upbringing as slave and symbolize her now found freedom. Shejelah is often called just Jelah by her two friend after seeing the crew members of Jack using Nicknames for each other, while this is a shorter version of her name it also means ‘brain’ in an ancient language of the Lophorel. And indeed a brain she is, not just having the strength of her species Shejelah is quite smart and has a high interests in quantum physics and chemistry. She will often work together with Nirlaph, who has a interests into engineering to invent and upgrade all sorts of gadgets and knickknacks. Speaking of Nirlaph (Nick: Nor translatable with ‘fluffy chicken’) they are non a less brilliant but suffer a severe case of being skittish and uncertain. As the younger sibling they often had to live to the standards the older one leid down first and while they are in many aspects superior to their sibling the stress of being held up to already high standards got to them at a young age. So while they are capable of being brilliant and an absolute genius their anxiety and stage fright often hold them back. So more often then not they tend to overthink decisions and either screw something up in the execution do to the anxiety or just not doing it at all even tho deep down they know they should have. They still don’t hold a grudge against their older sibling to the contrary they heavily rely on the fare more outgoing and intuitive Ala’phrel to pull them for Support and to just pull them against through it. But other than Ala’phrel and Shejelah they prefer to keep to them selves often working in the dead of the night and in secret on their projects to avoid the awkwardness that brings working under the public eye. But also he refuses to give their and Shejelah’s brilliant invention to a society that wouldn’t even acknowledge Shejelah’s part in them which they think is way greater than their part in them. So even if both of their work could have revolutionized the space travel of their society they keep their inventions a secret which will later be to their advantage. But well without Ala’phrel the trio wouldn’t get to the point where they will find them selves. Ala’phrel is bold, charismatic and understands how to get their way. They are the driving force behind the whole story dragging the other two further into the right direction. While lacking the brilliant and deep understanding of the scientific backgrounds their bordering on delusional positive attitude and admiration of the concepts they have seen in the show keeps them all moving forward. Ala’phrel isn’t shy of justifying controversial actions ( like stealing a ship from their parents) with the greater intention behind them which sometimes leads to further trouble they need to deal with together with their friends which more often than not build the perfect contra weight to Ala’phrel ‘s at times insane schemes. They definitely are a bit too much obsessed with captain Jack and his crew and them being real so you could say they are a super fan. But in the end they have good intentions even tho they lack the experience they always try to do the best for their friend and for themselves.

The Ship (not really a Character but ehhh)

The ship is probably one of the most important aspects of the whole thing, no ship, no space travel, no going on with the premise! So this vessel pictured above is a mining ship that is planned on being deployed by Noroph'a before Ala’phrel, Shejelah and Nirlaph decide to ‘lend’ it. It is a completely new build state of the art vessel constructed to have a working crew of around 320 (around 230 when the group quarters designed for the Narlaha workers are reduced to more comfortable individual quarters) individuals, four hangars for 20 transporter vessels and a general storage for circa 800000 tones of raw materials. the main engine is situated in the middle of the general construction, separated so that in the case of an emergency or leakage of dangerous radiation the core can be repelled without endangering the integrity of the vessel. It is surrounded by a constant energy shield to keep the radiation Inside and other radiation outside. There are also two separate engines further back in the offshoots of the main body fueled by non radioactive materials which doesn’t deliver enough power to fuel the the main thrusters and is instead just used for the secondary and navigation thrusters. In general the ship isn’t armed except a plasma drill in front of the ship. (It will be updated later on). Shejelah and Nirlaph constructed an update for the engine and thrusters which will allow them to travel at over light speed while the original speed of the vessel was only close to light speed. How they install the update will be a secret from now ^^’

But they don’t really have their own names instead a family name is given from the chosen parent to the child with either a 'lah’(born female), 'ren’(born male), 'len’ (born intersex) at the end depending on the biological sex they are born with.

They aren't very strong however but do to their legs agile and good at jumping. Height wise they can get from 1,60 m (5' 2'')up to 1,90 m (6' 2'') They are generally hermaphrodites and don't have naval due to laying eggs. They use the terms Eren (Seedgiver) and Ophat (shellcarrier) to adresse their parents and it occurs that siblings from the same parent pair use diffrent terms for addressing the same parent. They also number their children with the last sibille of their name so for example having 'rel' at the end of a name means that it is the first hatched child YEP I gonne write a language guid later someday lol .
They are significantly smaller than their surface dwelling neighbors and only get around 1,50 m (4' 9''). But they don't really have their own names instead a family name is given from the chosen parent to the child with either a 'lah'(born female), 'ren'(born male), 'len' (born intersex) at the end depending on the biological sex they are born with. Also they tend to have brown to black hair only sometimes they mutate blond hair. Also there are albinos I'm the Species

Yes hello please tell me everything about your original idea 👀
I am very glad you gave me an excuse to just make an way to long post at 2am in the morning when I should have been asleep an hour ago <3
So the general premise is :
A far away alien race catches a transmission of a very corney and sappy scifi show from earth, think it is real and go off on an epic journey through space to find the utopic united planet system depiced in the show to join their rows while picking up other aliens along the way.
And now off to the meat of this post lol:
The story and setting bits:
So it starts off with three relatively young aliens from a planet that is shared by two diffrent races but also heavily plagued by racism and based on slave culture. The dominant race is very agile and over ground ground dweling bipedal spicies which is in general hermathroditic, they have the ability to see a wide variety of the light spectrum and therefore more colors and phenomena we can't see without instruments of sorts. Also they lay eggs and even tho they are omnivore they mainly live as vegitarian. They can see more colors and stuff BUT they are terrible at seeing in low light situations. The subjugated species is a mainly underground living species with for arms and four eyes. They are pretty strong, generally smaller than the other species, are more like us with their genders and are super good at seeing in very low light situations. But they mainly see the world in reds and greens AND are pure carnivores.
Anyways the three states I will call them catch the transaction while playing with some high tec equipment as children. The family of the two topsurface guy is rich bc of some space mining business and actualy bought a playmate and her parents so their kids could have company and also they can afford high tier education. So the three kids play with the stuff and accidentally catch tidbits of an age old transmission called "Captain Jack's search through the stars" and even tho they can't understand a single thing they get infatuated by seeing a crew of odly similar looking but still diffrent aliens working together on eye level. So they learn the language and try to understand more about the depicted utopian plane of existance only to decide that they want to leave their society to join the conglomeration of planets and come back as positive example to change the ways of their people. They do their best to study and learn things that could be usfull on a space travel, they even invent a lill upgrade for the already existing engines of the space ships of their people till they one day... Well steal a ship and start their journey.
Ofcourse their parents (both species) aren't exactly amused and are going to try to bring their children back (and accidentally do a lill something about the state of their society while doing so ) but yeah for the most part the three are now blasted off into space trying their best to find their way to earth while actualy pretending to be already part of the conglomeration they saw in the show.
They are going to be joined by two of the last members of diffrent races that basically killed themself by beeing stupid (the races not the last two survivors). Basically they gonna encounter a solar system with two plates that due to their elliptic trek around the star (screw physics who needs that anyways)change positions in regular intervals which made it possible to exchange chemicals between the two atmospheres which in turn was produced by the habitat species of the plant and needed by the other. They started a war bc of ethical differences and wups wouldn't you know it killing the other species slowly killed both and so the last one surviving is a midelaged scientist who more or less adopted a kid from the other species and does his best to keep them both alive. He will join the crew as doctor (there is a plot about why but damn I am already typing for an hour) and his lill buddy will stay a telepathic ( yes the lill dude is telepathic) secret for a while bc grumpy skelli raptor dad (insider name for him he is acrualy called G'nor) freas his new friends would understand what is going on. They get a really heart-warming story later on and the lill guy (they sre called Ift) is going to help the crew develop a universal translator so they don't have to rely on their telepathic skills as much.
Two other people that will join the crew are a headhunter named Corena and her adoptive father Terp a bar owner and tender. They formerly were tasked to bring the crew down bc they intruded the wrong sector of the galaxy but after getting into trouble as well for not killing some runnaway Idiots with basically no weapons on board or on their belt they both join them as Security officer and on board canteen/bar expert. They also accidentally bring a plague of feral potochillas on board which are quite adorable little creatures but also very miscifious.
Also on their journey to earth they gonna find a genetic reconstructed human who was 'build' by dna samples on some space garbage that somehow got to a planet with very intelligenent life forms that basically decided against space travel bc they saw other planets weren't ready yet and therefore got stuck on their home planet bored and curious taking every opportunity they can to get to know other life forms without leaving. She because she is a mix of multiple incomplete dna samples doesn't have eyes or a fully functioning nervous system (again I know that's not how genetics work but damn it this is fiction) so those are substituted with 'cyborg'-parts so she can live. She won't really join the crew, even tho she as a tec savvy person will sometimes help out with engineering but rather wants to be a passanger to get to earth and finally get to know her own race for the first time in her life.
I got a tone more but ehhh need some sleep now hahaha hope everything makes sens and I hope you enjoyed my brain salad.
