Some wanderings. This humaning thing is hard some days. More than most of us would like. Do your best to keep your head up. Try to find the beauty. And to focus on what’s good in your world. Smile as often as possible. It has a magic way of lighting you up inside, when you didn’t think there was any light to be had at the time. Beauty exists. And is worth the effort. I learned recently that one of my favorite people on the planet tried to leave it of his own accord (three different times, actually), while I wasn’t around. The thing is, he is one of the last people I would expect to be in that kind of existential free fall. We just never know about life. Or what other people are going through. Especially these days. It is a difficult time for humans, I think. We are at some kind of a crossroads. (And no Robert Johnson in sight.) I don’t know where I’m going with this. And don’t want to offer a trite platitude. I just want to remind you there are many different ways to look at the world. Many angles and perspectives. Don’t get stuck in any of them. Turn the world over in your hands, as many times as you need, in order to find a fresh way of seeing. I hope you are well. I hope you have someone to reach out to if you are not. If you are so inclined, I could even be that person. I hope you take my advice to get outside. To find beauty. Outside, inside, in your own mind, your heart. It is there for discovery. There are some moments in life that are so saturated in beauty we cannot possibly hold all of it. This NYE morning snow adventure was one of those. We found ourselves immersed in so much beauty we couldn’t possibly take it all in.
