kai: i mean, i can imagine why !! i've never personally been pregnant sooooooo. i can't completely relate but tiredness. that's a bitch.

kai had a terrible last few nights and she was sure that she was going to have to deal with it by herself. with her best friend already in the hospital, she didn’t want to bug her. she picked up her phone, trying to breathe in. this only made her wounds hurt more. tears fell down her cheeks as she pulled up the one person she wanted to see more than gianna. and that was sharna. she shakily typed, “sharna.. i know this is really fucking stupid of me but i miss you. i miss your face, your eyes. everything about you. there’s not a day that goes by that i don’t miss you. i know you still felt our connection on your porch…. but if you didn’t, i just need to see your face. please come see me at mercy general.” she sent the message and set her phone down. she wiped her eyes and sighed as she drifted off lightly into a slight sleep.

getting kai's text, sharna let out a sigh. she looked over at her wife, who was sound asleep before rolling over and falling back to sleep. when her eyes opened, she looked at the clock, noticed that she had only been asleep for about 45 minutes and rolled her eyes before climbing out of bed and sliding on her shoes. she left a note for her wife and drove to the hospital and asked for kai's room and walked inside. crossing her arms over her chest, she let out a sigh. "what happened to you?"

“well, hello there beautiful. how are you feeling today?” sebastian asked, walking into her room, “still as radiant as ever.” he said with a soft smile.

claire smiled looking up from her book when she heard sebastian, "i'm doing okay. how are you?" she felt her cheeks flush at his compliment and scrunched up her nose, "i think someone is lying." she teased.

shane sat down in the chair next to his wife’s hospital bed. he was all the more worried about gia’s safety. he heard a peep come out of her mouth and looked up from his phone, “well, hello beautiful.” he said with a smile, grabbing her hand to kiss it softly.

she smiled when he kissed her hand. her brain automatically went to him and the twins. "how are you? are the twins okay?" she asked softly, trying not to worry and panic too much. "i missed you.." she said softly. granted, it hadn't been long but it still didn't stop her from missing him.

shane smiled at his wife and shook his head, “there’s no need to be sorry, my love.” he said to his wife before she drifted off. the paramedics came in and he moved out of the way, “i’m going in the ambulance. she’s my wife.” he told the medics.

the paramedics nodded, letting shane come along and they loaded gianna into the ambulance and tothe hospital. once there, they got her inside and quickly put into a room and hooked up to oxygen as the doctor explained that gia's heart had given out and was only getting worse. after awhile, gianna's eyes opened and a small smile graced her features seeing shane, "hi baby.." she said softly.

shane’s eyes widened as he watched his wife fall to the ground. he rushed over to her and grabbed his phone off the nightstand. he dialed 9-1-1 and looked down at his wife, “everything’s gonna be okay, gi. i promise.” he told the woman and sighed softly. he hated seeing her like this. he talked to the operator and listened to what they said, “okay. mhm. perfect. thank you so much.” he stroked gia’s hair and sighed once again. this pregnancy was not good for her and he knew it. but it’s what she wanted and all he wanted was for her to be happy.

the brunette knew none of this was easy on shane and she hated that she had put him through it. feeling him stroke her hair, the panic coursing through her body eased. "i'm sorry," she hoped her breathing didnt break up the words too badly. she was determined to stay awake through all of it but she was quickly becoming tired and her eye fluttered shut, hearing sirens approaching and hoped, more than anything, that shane would be okay.

eyes fluttering open, gia frowned taking in her hospital room. she noticed someone sitting beside her out of her peripheral vision and internally scolded herself. she looked over and a wave of relief rushed over her seeing kai. "hi, lovebug." she said softly, holding her hand out for kai to take.

gia couldn't describe the way she felt all day. she felt a tightening in her chest and it seemed to only get worse until she couldn't really breathe. she had been home for awhile and it still hadn't subsided. a weak smile came across her face when she saw shane enter their room. he was her light at the end of the tunnel. she took a step out of their bathroom, "shane..." was as much as she could muster out as her breathing became labored and she collapsed near the bed.

“gia, i don’t want you to give them up. they’re ours. but i don’t want to lose you either. you’re the person i’m meant to be with. but if god’s plan is to have you back with him than so be it. i want this because you want this. you’re the love of my life and that’s not going to change.” she looked into her eyes and smiled, “i just.. i can’t talk about you dying anymore.. i’ve already lost two family members. we need to discuss something else.” he held back tears as he looked at his wife.

gia flashed a weak smile and nodded her head, "you're who i'm meant to be with too, shane. there is no one else i could ever possibly picture myself with." she kissed him softly, "i promise i will do my hardest so you don't lose another." she bit her lower lip, "how about we go home and order chinese or something. sound like a plan?"

kai smiled at her friends compliment & shrugged, “i think i’m going to break up with lily…. please for the love of all things great in the world, stop me from doing so, gi??” she looked at her best friend and sighed. when she heard the news she immediately perked up, “wait WOAH, IM GOING TO BE AN AUNTIE?! to twins?? wait, you don’t have twins in your family, do you?? or does shane??” she paused thinking about the complications that could come with it, “did the doctor clear all of this? like is it allowed??” she asked the other woman.

gianna raised an eyebrow, "why are you thinking about breaking up with her, first off? like did something happen? ooh, did you talk to sharna?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. she laughed at kai's excitement, "yes, you're going to be an auntie. shane's mom was a twin," she said shrugging her shoulders. at kai's question, the brunette sighed. she placed a hand on her bump and shook her head, "the doctor doesn't suggest it but i want them. shane isn't entirely on board with it. he knows it's what i want so he kinda deals with it."

“you, m’dear, are a god-sent angel, you know that, right?” he told the woman with a soft smile, “we’re going to have to hire somebody because you are pregnant and heavy lifting is not a good idea when you’re pregnant.”

she laughed then shook her head, "i try to be for you, but don't worry, i can lift things, babe. i will hire some help though."

she was lucky, she knew she was. "she's still in a coma," she said softly. "she's hooked up to all these machines, sebastian. it's so scary and her and my sister finally have their shit figured out and then this..i.." she shook her head and shrugged her shoulders.

lia hugged the girl back and sighed, “i can’t lose you.. i can’t lose her… you two are the only things i actually care about, claire.” she explained to her younger sister. tears rolled down the woman’s face, “it is important that you’re feeling alright. you should be resting. i did about an hour ago.” she had only had a handful of grapes but at least she had had something to eat, right?

"hey, you're not losing anyone, i promise," she said with a reassuring smile. claire let out a sigh, "i'm doing okay, i promise. what did you eat? i'll bring you something to eat," she said with a smile.

“we’re having twins! you can thank my mother for that.” he smiled back at her, tilting his head to the side, “and i love you.” he repeated. her next comment was entirely true. this wasn’t easy on him but for gianna, he was going to do what he had to, “it’s not but i told you i’m going to support you no matter what.” he looked into her eyes and smiled.

she smiled,nodding her head. "oh, i am." she laughed. she played with the hem of her shirt. "we'll have two beautiful kids, shane." she wiped away the fresh tears that started to fall with her free hand, "i don't want to die, shane but i dont want to get rid of them. they're part of both of us. i think that's what a mom does...willing to give her life for her child and if anything did happen to me, i'm content with that because i...i know that these babies will have the greatest and most loving dad in the world. i know some probably wouldnt be okay with this, and leave their wives or whatever but you aren't and i am so grateful for you."
