About the London riots: he is fucking right: people who claim that they are setting fire to other people's houses, brutalizing and killing innocent bystanders in the street and looting stores cannot just say: oh we did this because we are poor so it's not our fault, and bail out. We’re not bullying anybody, this is a blog that was made to let out our aggression towards someone’s attitudes and behaviour. We’re not bashing his looks, or calling him names. We’re stating our opinions, and we’re stating the truth. You both seem logical. But you dislike "mindless hate" & isn't that the point of this blog? Hate Hitler. But an ACTOR? I don't get that. You could be doing something good with your time. Have opinions, but your public hate could be directed to deserving people. Instead you choose to spend your time to putting negativity in the world towards a guy, who compared to REAL arseholes like rapists, is a saint. He hasn't hurt you. Who do you want to affect with a blog like this? & why? I don't get this.

Think of it as saving you the disappointment that is bound to plague you. Hitler, at his peak of popularity in Germany was a saviour to the German people, and was adored by the general public. He was enigmatic, charming, and kind to those who followed him. Benedict Cumberbatch is much the same (so are many men in a position of power whether it be through politics, money, or entertainment), I’m not saying he’s going to be responsible for the mass-murder of millions of innocent lives, but he’s bound to disappoint his avid followers. He’s just not as perfect as his fans seem to regard him, and we’d like to explain why we hold a different opinion than those of his biggest fans. And try to, maybe, open their eyes, at the most. At the least, this blog is solely for organising our thoughts about him. We don’t ask others to join in, but if they’d like we’re not against it.

I am actually glad he is not always polite, otherwise he will be fucking boring & absolutely not human.

I think many of the points you bring up about said dickishness are scarily accurate and as much as I love Benedict as an actor I can also see the flaws which you have managed to sum up rather nicely. The problem here is the word 'hate', because as snappy as it is it doesn't quite encompass the idea that there's reason behind the dislike, which is why I think many people are reacting so violently. Either way I don't think his outlook on fans is his fault entirely; some fans seem actually insane x

I completely agree, and that’s part of it. We’re not saying that in his home life he treats people nastily, we’re not saying he’s an evil person, or a fucking demon. We’re making valid points about how he really isn’t as polite as he seems, and why we don’t like him. And fans are a whole other story, in reality they drive him to do a lot of the things he does (how he dresses and whatnot, which is terrible), and I think Jane is going to be making the next post which will be about how his crazy his stans are.

Interesting: the funny thing is that cumberbatch is smart enough to try to correct his public mistakes: so next time we see him, he's wearing a feminist t-shirt, the guy is very aware of his public persona and generally wants people to like him, the problem is that you cannot please everyone in the world. I still don't think he is a complete asshole like you guys claim. He went to Tibet in his gap year to teach English, that was before he was famous or anything, I know enough people, including myself, who would Never consider donating time and effort to charity in such a way. So on the scale of dickheads, he scores lower than I do.

No, he shouldn’t have sex with “ugly” women because it’s “nicer”. We said nothing of the sort, he’s allowed to do whatever he want’s but we’re going to point out that we don’t agree with it and we have a right to. Just as you have the right to defend him.

If you've never met him, how do you know he talks about fans 'like some sort of disease' behind closed doors, as you claim?

I think it’s evident that he resents his fans for sort of taking over his life, he makes it clear that he isn’t comfortable with the fandom, and even feels that they’re obsessed. I’ve read this elsewhere but I can’t find the article I’d read it in but it’s along the lines of “People always want fucking pictures, like you need evidence of meeting someone”. He can’t stand his fans, he puts up with them but would rather not have to deal with them.

I do think that freeman in general is more straight headed about the whole celebrity thing than cumberbatch is. Freeman has been successful for some time now, but is not going after some Hollywood dream of wealth or stardom. He is just content with his family. BC still acts like a 20+ person, who thinks he should get the most out of everything as soon as possible or it will all be over; He is still a little boy chasing after the bond-car, the penthouse villa, and the "international man of mystery" lifestyle, while also wanting to have a loving family with kids, a dog and a house with a garden. I think he will eventually become more relaxed about it, as soon as he has started a family.

I think it's odd that you guys prefer Martin over Benedict. Martin isn't very nice sometimes.

There’s a reason to why we prefer him, he’s just an all around nicer person. He’s very loving, and accepting of people. And the jokes he makes about fans are exactly that, jokes. Now, don’t confuse us with those fans of his that call him an “adorable kitten/hedgehog/some other animal”. We just think he’s an all around cool dude.

(3) he is selling out: he is a workaholic, he takes every job he can get because he knows that in this line of work, your window of opportunity is short and you better start saving for the time when they stop calling. His parents were actors and taught him this well. At the end of the day, however emotionally attached some people may become with him, he is just doing a freelance job and trying to earn money. If someone offered me a million euros for voice acting a stupid looking cartoon wolf, I will do it too.

(2) BC’s above weight punching comment: considering the amount of unscripted and thus un prepared stuff he has to say in interviews, fan meetings etc, It actually surprises me that he has not said more that might make some people cringe. Even the nicest people make stupid jokes and hurtful statements sometimes, it’s doesn’t mean that they are always complete dickheads.
