“who even likes fearless og, though?” given it was not only taylor’s first aoty, but also remains the most awarded country album of all time, i think it’s safe to assume that a lot of people liked it when it was released in 2008 and still like it to this day. and not to mention, the wave of pure nostalgia that hits us long-time fans square in the chest when we listen to the og versions of songs that served as the soundtrack to our lives for over a decade, songs like the title track and love story and fifteen and you belong with me, is absolutely unmatched. but sure, go on.
#fearless is a near perfect album#fearless takes a period of your life that many people dismiss as they get older and honours it as being important and vibrant#and i have said this before but Taylor would not have the career she has had without fearless#it was the sophomore album that paved the way for fans to care enough to make speak now sell 1 million in its first week#it was the start of the upward trajectory of her career#it was what roped in so many of her older fans#ever since taylor bought back her old albums ive been seeing a lot of bad takes about the reclaimed versions#but even if you prefer the newer versions i dont think it’s fair to disparage the older ones#and something about the criticism about fearless og pisses me off specifically#i might be a nostalgia monster but i also genuinely think fearless is not only a great album but an important moment in her career
