User can easily build a backup for storage groups and can save them. Convert EDB to PST Using Exchange Management Shell
Exchange Management Shell gives a command line interface to reach the database, get its status and make the needed changes in them.
To transform free EDB to PST file, use the following commands in a following manner
Step 1: For getting Mailboxes in a Database run the command.
Get-MailboxStatistics -Database <DatabaseName>
Step 2: To export the EDB file to a PST run the command.
New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox <MailboxName> -FilePath \ExchangeBackup\PST\MailboxName.PST
The command will store the mailbox data to a new PST file. But make sure that the destination folder is a shared folder.
Step 3: Run the command to verify the status of mailbox export request.
Get-MailboxExportRequest
It will grant the status of the export request.
Step 4: After finishing the export process, cancel the export request by the given command.
Remove-MailboxExportRequest -Identity <Name of the export request>
Using this process, the user can export the data from a single mailbox.
